This is not a fancy place, but it has a great location, a fun bar scene at night for all ages, it is very clean, and the price is ultra right.

You do have to walk to the beach about three minutes. It's a good pick if you want to watch your wallet. Watson, the bartender, is great.

The staff was friendly. However, there were approximately seven beach chairs available on the beach which was about a five-minute walk across the street. The pool was dirty and the hotel ran out of breakfast on one occasion.

For electric, we had to use our room key and inserted it in a slot. Every time we left the room and removed the key, our a/c shut off. If we opened a door or window, the a/c also shut off and we were only given one key to the room.

The area restaurant staff was very friendly, though, as well as all the locals.

3.0 stars These accommodations are fine for sleeping only. Visited: October 2003

If you're looking for an affordable place on this expensive island, try it. If you venture to beachfront properties on Grace Bay beach, you'll see those are much nicer, but at twice the cost.

We stayed here two nights (although paid for three) on a Skyauction.com vacation. It was a steal with airfare included.

We had a third floor king balcony room. It was no charge since we were nice and pleasant to the front desk grumpies, otherwise it would be $20 extra per night. The walk up the stairs was fine, we needed the exercise. The room was very standard. It was clean and simple, everything worked fine. The A/C also was fine...so what's the big complaint from others? It was plenty cold.

The bathroom was small, but functional. Beware the extremely low showerhead! It would be fine for guests who are four feet tall. There was good water pressure on the belly button, though! The bed was firm, but that's the way we like it.

The pool small, but fine. We spent our time on the incredible Grace Bay Beach. Wander over (approx. 450 paces, five minutes easy walk down a paved access road). We snuck into a lounger at Allegro Resort (adjacent area). And nobody bothered us about it.

We golfed three days at Provo Golf and Country Club. It was very nice, although there were no waterfront holes. There were lots of lakes, marshy areas, and waste bunkers. It was tough when the wind was blowing. They had very nice facilities. The cost was $130 greens fees, which was a little steep.

We moved to the Sands at Grace Bay for the last three nights (also Skyauction win). There was an unbelieveable difference. That was a first class oceanfront resort. It was worth paying more to be on the beach.

4.0 stars A great two weeks at Comfort Suites and the Island! Visited: February 2003

Our first night in Turks and Caicos at the Comfort Suites was a rough one; good thing it was no indication of how the rest of the trip went. Our room was on the third floor of the hotel (no elevator, only stairs) and our room was right next to a room with a family of screaming children. The shower had no hot water! It was a total bummer being woken at 5am by those kids. I went down and asked for a new room, and was immediately accommodated. What a difference!

The rooms are clean (although the air conditioning was a little on the warm side) and the pool is nice. The little shopping mall outside the hotel has shops, food and a small snack food store, so everything is within walking distance. The beach is also a very short walk across the street, and the Comfort Suites has beach towels and lounge chairs! The beach is beautiful! Overall, it was a pleasant stay! There?s a cute bar at the pool and people are nice enough, but overall they all lack much personality (as do the other islanders in my opinion).

Restaurant service is slow! Calico Jack's was average (45-minute wait for the check), Lattitudes was the worst place we ate, Barefoot Cafe was nice (good breakfast), Hemingway's was okay, Shark Bite Grill was the best food, and Bella Luna was good Italian food and nice ambiance. The hotel has croissants, juices, coffee and tea each morning too!

We rented scooters for $40 a day, and toured the island. There is not much too see, or do. If you dive, this is the place. If you want to be comatose for two weeks like I did, this is the place! A great two weeks in the sun!

4.0 stars Great place to stay with friendly staff! Visited: November 2002

We arrived before check-in time, but were allowed to check-in as soon as we arrived. We received a warm welcome from the staff as well as coupons for drinks and area information.

Our room was spacious and clean with a door on each end of the room. One door opened to the pool area and the other into the breezeway. The hotel was well maintained overall but if I had to have a complaint it would be that the air conditioning didn't work as well as we would have liked.

The hotel was conveniently located next to the Ports of Call, which had restaurants, car rental, internet cafe and small shops. We had the baby back ribs at Lattitudes and they were wonderful. It was also reasonably priced at $14.95 for a whole rack. The western omelettes and cheeseburgers ($9.00 each) at Barefoot Cafe were really good too. These were two of the least expensive restaurants on the island, so be prepared to pay a lot for food.

The beach access was a short walk through the Ports of Call, cross the road to your right and about a block down a paved access road. The beaches were gorgeous. The sand was so fine, it was like powder, and the water contained the most beautiful shades of blue and green. If you like to snorkel, the best place without paying to go on a boat was in front of the Coral Gardens. You could see coral, fish and sea turtles just a few feet off shore.

This was our first trip to Providenciales, but I don't think it will be our last. We were pleased with our choice of accommodations and would stay at Comfort Suites again. It was a good value even though not directly on the beach.

4.0 stars A friendly, clean, convenient and comfortable place to stay. Visited: October 2002

We stayed here for a long weekend on our third visit to Provo. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and even took part in a birthday surprise for me!

The pool bar had a great happy hour and was lots of fun, especially as many locals stopped in. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable.

The continental breakfast was minimal, so we preferred breakfast at Barefoot Cafe for something more substantial before diving. Our departure flight was well after check-out, so we really appreciated the room they set aside for showers and changing prior to leaving for the airport -- a nice touch!

We would stay here again!

If you want a clean, safe, comfortable hotel within walking distance of the beach, with nearby restaurants, and shopping, this is the place for you.

My husband and I wanted to take a Caribbean vacation, but didn't want to spend an arm and a leg. The Comfort Suites was across the street (about a three-minute walk) from the most beautiful beach in the world.

The rooms were clean and large with a nice balcony, fridge, a/c, and a safe. The staff was friendly and helpful, except the grumpy bartender in the lobby bar. Oh, if you go in the fall, bring plenty of bugspray. The mosquitoes were horrendous!

We only went in the pool once, why be in chlorinated water when the beautiful turquoise Caribbean is nearby?

I went ahead and gave this five stars, but really would probably rate it a 4 1/2. The only complaint I could possibly give is that the pool needed to be cleaned a little better. Other than that it was a great place to stay.

Everyone was very helpful and willing to do anything to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were nice and the grounds of the resort were beautiful. Also, it was conveniently located next to the Ports of Call shopping center where there were great restaurants (Calico Jack's and Barefoot Cafe). Also, it was right across the street from Grace Bay Beach, which was absolutely beautiful.

It was not a huge resort, but a quiet, comfortable, affordable place to enjoy a wonderful honeymoon. Also, we took a couple of excursions and I highly recommend Ocean Outback Adventures and Captain Bill to anyone visting the island. We had a great time on the Ultimate Island Getaway. His rum punch was the best. All in all, it was a great place.

I just got back from staying here over Spring Break and it is quite a nice hotel.

It is clean and provides great service. The location is great, especially because it is right next to Port of Calls Shopping Centre, where there are nice restaurants (Calico Jacks and Barefoot Cafe were my favorites).

The only downside is that it is not right next to the beach. However, it takes less than a couple of minutes to walk over to the beach, which is across the street. The hotel has its own beach umbrellas and chairs set up, which is very convinient.

Turks and Caicos, for the most part, is an expensive place to stay. But this is definitely an affordable alternative and is really very nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

4.0 stars Cute little hotel, and excellent value! Visited: August 2001

My boyfriend and I chose Comfort Suites after viewing it on the Internet. It looked nice, had a good price and we had always been pleased with Comfort Suites in the U.S. We were extremely satisfied with this property.

It had cute, Caribbean-style rooms around the pool in a courtyard-type setting. It was as nice on the outside as the very expensive neighboring resort. We arrived more than 2 hours before the official check-in time of 3pm, but they managed to get our room ready by 2pm.

The beach and water were exquisite, and it was nice that they provided beach chairs. The bad part was that when we returned from the beach, we found out that T&C was under a sudden Tropical Storm Warning, so we only got to stay one day.

The staff was friendly, as were the folks at the pool bar. (I think some locals come to hang out there.) Next door at Ports of Call Shopping area, we ate some really good seafood at Latitudes. I hate that we had to leave, because we didn’t get to go snorkeling or anything like that. We did take a romantic walk on the beach under the stars, and felt very safe.

I have been to about 10 different islands in the Caribbean, and this has to be the most beautiful one. Comfort Suites is a high-end budget hotel in a place that you thought would be way too expensive to visit. We will be back before the end of the year!

Not up to the quality of other Comfort Suites, this property had a very dirty pool, a tiny, not-fresh breakfast and phone charges that were crippling and more than offset any cost savings. We moved early.

My husband and I stayed at Comfort Suites and had a great time. The island is wonderful, there’s great people, great food and it’s just ideal overall. We are going back in a couple of weeks and taking the kids. They've never been to the Caribbean, so we're hoping they'll love it as much as we did. I just can't wait!

5.0 stars Great place for a quiet and relaxing vacation Visited: December 1999

I stayed at Comfort Suites in December of 1999 and totally enjoyed my stay. I was traveling alone and would highly recommend this hotel for singles. I felt very safe and my room was just off the pool area. I could walk out my door to the pool and it was always quiet and relaxing.

The Ports of Call shopping was right next door with a nice selection of shops and restaurants. Facing the ocean and about one block to the right was another small shopping mall and the Caicos Cafe, a great place to eat lunch or dinner. They served a lobster sandwich to die for!

The owners were great and very friendly. I really loved the island and am going back again this December with my family. Unfortunately, I won't be going to Comfort Suites because I am taking my daughter and she needs more activities.

This was a great place for singles or couples who enjoy peace and quiet and checking out the various restaurants on the island.

4.0 stars Friendliest bar by the pool Visited: December 1969
Posted by ATraveler
The location is tops. The rooms are spacious. Take the ones overlooking the pool with balcony. The bartender by the pool in the late afternoon is great. The ambiance is fantastic. Great value. Who needs an all-inclusive? You get the same beach as Allegro for 25% of the cost and you eat what and where you want.

Many restaurants are in the Ports of Call Shopping Centre on the property. It's also near the golf couse which is fabulous. Car and scooter rental at hotel has great service. The guests include all the crew of American Airlines who stay every night, they are wonderful people.

Great pool area, quiet all the time.
