We chose Harbour Club Villas from internet recommendations, and we were not disappointed.

We were looking for a place out of the busy area of Grace Bay with a separate bedroom and a well-equipped kitchen at a reasonable price. We certainly found it.

It was no surprise that we were very well taken care of by Barry and Marta. They lived up to their reputation in these reviews. Marta is such an inveterately helpful person, that even as we were leaving to go on to North Caicos, she told us how to find the special places there and gave us an extra styrofoam cooler to take our food in.

The villa was attractive, spacious and comfortable - and had everything we needed. When a friend came to join us for the last two nights of our stay, Marta rearranged all the furniture in the living area, so we could have the sofa sleeper open and off to one side and still have a good sitting arrangement on the other side. I never would have asked her to do that, but I was delighted that she did.

Making arrangements with Harbour Club was very easy. My emails were answered promptly, and they volunteered to make our car reservation with Scooter Bob.

We recommend the villas for anyone who is looking for home-like accommodations and helpful hosts.

We spent 13 days at the Harbour Club Villas and Marina over Christmas 2007. It was great!

There are not enough positive adjectives to describe what delightful, helpful, and fun hosts Barry and Marta were. Even before we arrived, Marta was so helpful over the Internet answering questions, helping with car arrangements, and making dining recommendations. From the moment we arrived, both Marta and Barry did everything imaginable to make our stay enjoyable.

The facilities were perfect for us. If you are someone who wants big, fancy, crowded hotel-type accommodations, don’t stay here. If you are someone who needs to be right on the beach and want a bar and/or restaurant right outside your door, don’t stay here either.

However, if you are someone who wants peace and quiet, nice views, no crowds, privacy, spacious accommodations, and don’t mind driving a bit to your choice of a variety of great beaches, or a variety of great restaurants (or maybe even B-B-Q-ing your own dinner while watching an absolutely gorgeous sunset), Harbour Club might just be the place for you.

We give Harbour Club Villas and Marina a ten out of ten!

We’ve had a fabulous honeymoon vacation at the Harbour Club Villas with Marta and Barry. They were superb hosts - very friendly, fun to talk with, and full of helpful advice. They’ve built a beautiful vacation spot, lush with all sorts of great and interesting plants.

The villas were comfortable and spacious, and came with great extras like soft towels, a lovely bed, nice soaps, and fresh flowers every day. There was also great water pressure, and we did our laundry. We enjoyed spending time under the shaded area by the pool.

We had fun doing the following activities:

1. Diving with Caicos Adventures. We had a great time. We went on 11 dives and saw turtles, sharks, many fishes and sea creatures. We even saw a manta ray! On each day, the staff was helpful and friendly.

2. Night diving with Matthew at Cactus Voyager (located at the Coral Gardens resort). We saw many turtles, squid, corals, sleeping fish and an octopus.

3. Snorkeling at Coral Gardens and Malcolm’s Road. The snorkeling at Coral Gardens was the best we saw, but the area is under recovery and needs time to come back. Snorkeling was not the best because it is mostly sand with little coral and less than abundant life.

4. Beach relaxation. We had a great time relaxing at Malcolm’s Road Beach, South Bluff, and many little beaches off Venetian Road - shown to us by Marta. South Bluff was a great time, as there was a cave with a ladder leading to the top of the bluff to look out over the ocean.

We bought food from the IGA supermarket for most breakfasts and lunches. We ate some dinners in the villa, but we enjoyed the following restaurants:

1. Da Conch Shack offered a very relaxing atmosphere with conch prepared in a variety of ways. Be prepared that the credit card machine might be down and a full menu is not always available. It was also a little pricey.

2. Grace’s Cottage was more expensive, but really great. They served creative food, in a beautiful setting and provided fabulous service.

3. Coco Bistro was Like Grace’s Cottage on the expensive side with a palm tree studded ambiance and good food and service.

4. Seaside Café at Ocean Club West offered standard breakfast fare that was prepared well. The service was also good.

In addition, the 4WD jeep was essential to get to all locations, not all roads are paved or mapped.

We had an excellent stay in Turks and Caicos with many thanks to our hosts Marta and Barry.

It was just what we were looking for! Visited: May 2007

We made our first visit to Provo, Turks and Caicos in early May 2007. We were seeking intimate lodging that offered the convenience of access to amenities such as local groceries and restaurants while being away from the usual tourist scene. Equally important was finding staff capable of guiding us to Provo’s hidden gems.

After conducting research on a variety of lodging options, we chose to stay at the Harbour Club Villas and Marina. Harbour Club was a delightful experience through and through.

This positive experience started with booking our trip. Marta and Barry provided a preview of what Provo had to offer plus islander insights and recommendations on vehicle rentals, groceries and restaurants.

After clearing customs in Provo, we picked up our rental vehicle (pre-arranged with Scooter Bob’s rentals) at the airport parking lot and were on our way to Harbour Club without issue.

Marta and Barry greeted us on arrival at Harbour Club, showed us to our villa and acquainted us with the property and surrounding area.

Harbour Club has six individual villas consisting of a bedroom with a queen bed, a single bathroom, full kitchen and combined living/dining area with a queen sleeper. Guests have access to the full grounds including pool, gazebo area with gas grill, and the marina.

We visited Grace Bay Beach, but were also interested in seeing some of the more remote areas of the island. Marta and Barry provided us excellent directions to a half-dozen beaches off the beaten trail.

Before sending us on our way, Marta and Barry were sure to provide us with beach chairs and a cooler for our adventure. At three of these locations we had the beach and spectacular scenery to ourselves. Other beaches were sparsely attended by locals fishing for conch.

We highly recommend Harbour Club Villa and Marina to those travelers who wish to experience all that Provo has to offer. You will be in good hands with Harbour Club hosts Marta and Barry.

This could be one of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed.

The owners were so friendly, and gave us lots of information on what to do and where to go. They were around if we needed them, but always gave us privacy.

The villas were really a good size - especially for a couple. You can't beat having a kitchen (even if all you use is the refrigerator and coffee maker!).

All my husband had to do was walk across the street and have a great time trying to catch the mysterious bone fish.

You do need to rent a car, because it was about five minutes away from the beautiful beaches. We really enjoyed having the car to explore the island and see sights we would never have seen without one.

If you want a comfortable, unique and very friendly place - you will find it at Harbour Club Villas.

Harbour Club is set on a hill between a salt water lake and a harbour on the south side of the island. It is also away from the major beach and hotel row which is Grace Bay.

It's the quieter side of the island, and it does have some secluded beaches. However, you do want to rent a vehicle - which Harbour Club will arrange to have waiting for you when you arrive at the airport. You'd likely want a vehicle on the island anyway, to take advantage of the great small restaurants and secluded beaches the island has to offer.

Marta maintains the grounds like a large garden with flowers, cactus, palms and the like surrounding the six villas.

Each villa has full tile floors, a full kitchen and large tiled shower, along with bedroom, and living area with satellite TV. There is also a dining area and a large entrance way along with a small outside table and chairs perfect for morning coffee.

Harbour Club also has a small pool and "tiki hut" with gas grill for steaks or seafood if you wish to stay "home" a couple of nights instead of eating out. We purchased fresh fish from a local fish market, and did just that several nights during our ten-night stay. Hanging out with Barry and Marta and their guests proved one of the highlights of the trip.

At night, we just used the ceiling fans and left the bedroom air-conditioning off. All that could be heard was the rustle of the palms in the breeze.

This was a great place to stay to explore the island, and it felt comfortable to be back each night when we returned from the day's exploration. It was a great bang for the buck!

Due to weather, we were diverted and delayed. When we finally arrived at Provo, even though it was 10:00 pm, Barry and Marta were ready and waiting for us.

In addition, there were two other couples at the "tiki bar". What a terrific welcoming committee! From that moment on, throughout our entire stay, Barry and Marta were so helpful and friendly.

Their villas were spacious and well decorated. They both had such great inside tips on where to go, eat and shop. We brought some supplies with us for the potcake puppies, and had a chance to meet two of the most adorable pups ever. Please consider doing this, they really could use your help.

We enjoy being off the beaten path on our trips, and Harbour Club Villas fit the bill. We will definitely return.

Harbour Club offers tropical paradise with warm hospitality. Visited: March 2007

We stayed at the Harbour Club villas for a week, and would highly recommend this for travelers who wish to stay away from crowded resorts and explore the Turks and Caicos islands for themselves.

With the advice of our extremely helpful hosts, Marta and Barry, our family of six was able to find and enjoy many beautiful beaches, snorkeling areas, and great restaurants.

We were looking for just the sort of accommodations offered at the Harbour Club villas - we were free to come and go as we pleased for excursions, meals, but never felt alone because of the friendly presence of our hosts.

Because the villas are "off the beaten track" by a few miles, it was almost necessary to rent a car, which we easily did through Scooter Bob's, a local car rental agency. My husband enjoyed two full days of incredible diving trips suggested by Marta at a dive shop located just steps from our villa.

Many personal touches made the Harbour Club a unique experience: fresh flowers in each room, groceries in our kitchen upon arrival, wonderful island breezes coming through our room, and a beautiful view of the bonefishing lake outside our windows.

All of this at a very reasonable price for these islands. We are pleased to recommend the Harbour Club to anyone.

We spent our honeymoon at Harbour Club, and Marta and Barry were amazing hosts.

The villas were private, cute, and nestled in between trees. Everything was clean and neat. Marta and Barry took care of us like we were part of their family.

This place can be as remote as you like, or as populated as you like. If you want to read a book and stay by the pool, nobody will bother you. If you're looking to get friendly, you can always pop out of your room in the evening and spend some quality time with Marta and Barry by the pool.

The villas were very well kept, and cleaned every two days. They had anything we needed in order to make a dinner, a BBQ or whatever we felt like.

Marta and Barry gave us the best suggestions for where to go to find remote beaches, good markets, internet and even yoga.

What we liked about it most was that we had peace. It was in the harbour, so if you're diving, you're five seconds from the departure site in the morning. We dove with Caicos Adventures, and it was great. Have Marta and Barry organize it for you and they would love to help.

Marta and Barry were wonderful! This place was an amazing vaction place.

Marta and Barry were wonderful hosts! We enjoyed our stay at the villa. It was perfect, as we were traveling with our three-year- old.

Additionally, Marta and Barry went the extra mile when our flight home was canceled. After taking us to the airport, they returned to pick us up and let us wait in the villa until our flight was rescheduled.

Thanks again for a wonderful time!

We had an excellent stay at Harbour Club. Visited: January 2007

My girlfriend and I stayed here for four days in mid-January. We had a fantastic stay. We have been to much of the Caribbean, but would rate Turks and Caicos at the top!

The Harbour Club was perfect for us because we wanted to be able to cook our own food (plenty of provisions down the road five minutes at the supermkt), including fish that we caught on a fishing trip. We can report that the barbecue grill was in fine working order!

One key to staying at the Harbour Club was to rent a car and go explore different beaches, which we did. The other key to the Harbour Club is the hospitality of Marta and Barry. From arranging the rental car before we arrived to offering recommendations on restaurants and beaches, they truly acted as "hosts".

If you're looking for a place to stay in Provo, and want your own villa to cook and to drive and explore, this is the place!

We spent a week at Harbor Club. I always wanted to visit TCI, and finally got the chance. My wife really likes to have space and to have access to wireless internet. HC worked out great.

The units were large, nicely decorated, and in perfect shape. The large living area allowed us to spread out, eat breakfast and lunch in (full kitchen), and watch the playoffs from our living room. It was much more comfortable than luxury resort hotel rooms that we had stayed in over the past several years during Carib holidays.

As a flyfishing addict, the place was unbeatable. Every morning I would walk 100 feet to a salt water pond that had bonefish, baracuda and other fish. Nearby (300 yards), I could walk to another pond to chase bonefish. I never even got to use the kayak to explore the bay near the marina.

Our hosts, Barry and Marta, could not have been more helpful. They arranged a car, assisted with setting up a bonefish and snorkeling trip, and pointed us in the right direction to see various sites.

My only regret is that I did not arrange for a two-week stay. Although Harbor Blub was not on one of the beautiful beaches, the location was great. We could drive to the best snorkeling spots, restaurantes, and a variety of beaches within ten minutes. It sort of forced us to explore the island, which has not occurred to us when we stayed in beachfront resorts.

Harbour Villas was perfect for my two boys and me since our primary mission was diving. All of the operators tie up in the Harbour located just steps away. We were able to line up dives right on the dock each day.

We had lots of comfortable space in our villa. We felt that we were the personal guests of Marta and Barry. They went out of their way to make our visit memorable.

We decided to stay here based on all the great reviews - and they were spot on.

Our hosts were very friendly, welcoming, giving and informative.
We enjoyed the locals' beaches, and felt they were private, just for us. Even the restaurant recommendations were great.

Thanks for all the tips, Marta and Barry. You guys made us feel like we were in our away from home.

We stayed at the Harbour Club with two other couples in October. It'was tucked between a salt water pond and a marina. Every morning the guys walked down to the flats to fish. It was much more fun than staying at a large commercial resort.

The pool was absolutely lovely, and we spent lots of time hanging out at the adjacent covered patio grilling steaks and playing card games!

The units were very comfortable and well equipped. Our hosts, Barry and Marta, were a wealth of information and provided us with lots of suggestions for beaching and dining. We would certainly go back.

We really enjoyed our stay at the villas. It was easy to get around.
If it's diving you're interested in, go see Jayne and Mickey at Flamingo Divers - walking distance from the villa - honestly.

Barry and Marta were excellent hosts, and gave us the best dining recommendations on the island. We went with two other couples, so the side by side villas were fun. We recommend it highly.

Here you will enjoy perfect, personal, private villas in Provo! Visited: April 2006

We stayed at Harbour Club Villas for a week in April, and could not have asked for any more of a wonderful stay - mostly thanks to our gracious hosts, Barry and Marta.

The villas were spacious, and more quiet than the "tourist" strip of Grace Bay, but close enough to enjoy. The property was set between a lake, which we enjoyed watching the sun rise over, and a cove, that is great to walk to.

Marta and Barry were kind enough to share with us the little secrets of the island, such as the drive out to Northwest point, and the amazing tranquility of the secluded beaches to the east.

Here was where we headed for the most perfect sunset wedding ceremony. We checked out several other spots on the island, but truely cherished the one Marta recommended the most. Thanks!

This was an unbelievable trip - the wedding we dreamed of having, and the perfect spot to stay.

It was a great place to relax and fish! Visited: April 2006
Posted by anglingsolutions
This was our first visit to Turks and Caicos (and first stay at Harbor Club Villas).

We've stayed in many 'self-catering' villas around the world, and these have to be the best. Villa owners, Barry and Marta, were exceptional in their attention to detail (including fresh flowers in the villa, ample supply of good quality towels and linens, a full range of cooking utensils and matching crockery - a first!).

Also, their willingness to help with any needs (such as an umbrella for the beach or an extra cooler) or questions (best restaurants and other information) was impressive. The villas were comfortable, spacious and well laid out.

While I enjoy fishing, my wife looks forward to relaxing with a good book. We managed both easily and then enjoyed relaxing dinners out (Marta will even make recommendations and reservations for you) or used the BBQ to rustle up our own.

Bonefishing in Turks and Caicos was excellent.

Directly in front of the villas was Flamingo Lake with plenty of opportunities for the stealthy wade fisherman on the incoming tide. With a pair of binoculars, you can see tailing fish from the villas and plan your approach. Schools of 20-50 fish - plus some big singles - roam these flats but can get spooky if you march all over the place!

Barry and Marta will also direct you to other Provo bonefish 'hot' spots or can recommend local guides if you want to go further afield.

In addition, check with Barry and Marta regarding advice on rental vehicles - not all operators offer 'reliable' vehicles. We made the mistake of using Renta Buggy - a clapped out mini jeep that broke down on the final day on our way to the airport.

Many of the side roads were rough and dusty - forget open vehicles unless you enjoy being covered in dust. Also, make sure the spare tire, jack, etc. are servicable.

Harbor Club Villas was the best!

Harbour Club was a private, quiet place to unwind. Visited: May 2005
Posted by yvon358
Harbour Club was not amongst the "famous and popular" resorts of Grace Bay. But we were in a place of total relaxation, peace and tranquillity. And that was why we were here.

Here we were surrounded by beautiful gardens, a pool complete with its own tiki hut, and a private verandah and our own villa. This was a private, quiet place to unwind. It was a nice place to experience things not offered at home.

In addition, literally, at our beck and call, two of the kindest individuals to ever run a resort. They were not pretentious or stuffy, Barry and Marta immediately made us feel welcome. Honestly, if we needed them to bend over backward, they’d probably give it a try. From the fresh flowers on the table every day to sharing their knowledge of the island, these two left a lasting impression.

We didn’t meet the "owners of the resort". We met two new friends. They invited us into their home and made us feel like family. That is a rarity in life. Well, enough about the resort, hopefully, you’ll soon see for yourselves.

Turks and Caicos Islands consistently rank high on the list of world class dive destinations. We now know why. This was our first time here and hopefully won’t be our last.

On our hosts’ recommendation, we went with Flamingo Divers. Flamingo Divers might not have had the newest, shiniest boats, but they offered so much more.

Lynn, Wayne and Carol had enough knowledge of diving and the surrounding waters they could make their own documentary. They offered personalized service with safety at the top of the list. Their genuine care for the underwater environment was evident. They were the type of divers who maximized our experience while making certain we were truly cared for. When they chose a site, they considered all factors - visibility, current, winds, skill level, and most of all, crowds - or lack thereof, rather.

And we were never pressured. We were able to go at our own pace, and our numerous questions were always answered with patience. Plus, they did everything but breathe for us. They were very accommodating.

The reef life was spectacular, the walls were beautiful. We saw everything from flying gurnards to several reef sharks. Eagle rays, turtles, jacks, spades, grouper were all in abundance. So many dives you "might-maybe-sort of" catch a glimpse of a larger animal. Here, they were common. We saw all this in only six dives - four dives off West Caicos and two off French Cay. All were outstanding. And, the fish seemed less shy.

Maybe it was just our imagination, but after floating perfectly still for several seconds, even the most timid of creatures, a turtle, decided to investigate "up close and personal". It was truly humbling.

This place was so special. We must have stumbled upon a bit of heaven.
