This is the best hotel ever. It is worth the money to enjoy rest and relaxation here. They have nice staff, also.

I'll return.

There was not enough to do for single parents - or if you want to bring your kids. Do not waste your money on this property. Take my advice.

This is a small, but exceptional property. Visited: May 2005

My husband and I have been to Turks and Caicos about three times before this last stay. Since we had no kids with us this time, we stayed here. The resort was small and intimate. Everyone knew us and tried hard to make us happy.

The room we had was the cottage (one-bedroom with ocean front was not available). It was furnished nicely with dark wood and a claw foot tub. The only bad thing was that our sheets had a hole in them. The patio was beautiful.

Grace's Cottage has changed chefs, and the food was not as great as it was the previous years we've been here. It was still good, but not excellent. We ate at Anaconia. It was beautiful because of its view, and the food was good also. The best food we had was at the new Palms, whose restaurant just opened up. It was very, very expensive for the tasting menu, but very very good.

The hotel had happy hour every day. It was fun to meet others and get some free drinks and a bite to hold us over until dinner. Made (yes that was his name) was wonderful and very helpful.

I would recommend this resort for a small getaway for a couple who like some peace and quiet.

We encountered first class tranquility at Point Grace. Visited: July 2004
Posted by bnossuli
My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Point Grace. Here are my thoughts:

1. Facilities: Outstanding
2. Customer Service/Staff: Outstanding
3. Amenities: Outstanding
4. Beach: Outstanding
5. Snorkeling: Poor
6. Daily Happy Hour: Very Good
7. Peace and Quiet: Outstanding

As you can read, the major selling points are there. However, if you are an avid snorkeler, you may reconsider staying here. Everything else, including dinner at Grace's Cottage, was exceptional.

Also, I would recommend renting a car. The island has many secluded beaches that are worth visiting (especially if you're looking for fantastic snorkeling).

If tranquility is what you want, welcome to paradise! Visited: August 2003

You should definitely come to Point Grace because:

1. The beach is the finest I’ve ever seen;
2. Climate is not that unbearable during the summer;
3. Unless you end up with having noisy neighbors, there is little that could upset you here;
4. Suites are comfortable and well furnished, with good kitchen equipment;
5. The hotel staff is friendly and efficient;
6. Both the restaurant and the pool bar are wonderful;
7. The masseuses and masseurs are truly professionals.

Nevertheless, you should count with the following "no-nos":

1. A tour of the resort upon arrival? Well, maybe that sounds a lovely idea when you are arriving from a 90-minute flight from Miami, but try to be given a tour when you have been inside a plane for 14 hours! What you want is a tour to the nearest bed, at most. If that is going to be your case, don’t fall for it and postpone that tour.

2. A Spa? Well, take the wonderful staff and the high quality products out and what you are left with are two (really) small cabanas facing the sea, with one massage bed each.

3. House cleaning consists mostly in towel changing and dish washing. We had to ask for the floor to be swept and for the linens to be changed. Justice be made, when we presented our complaint no efforts were spared to fix the situation and it never occurred again, so do not feel restrained to complain when you feel you should.

4. If you feel like having a little shade during your beach stay, in this resort things work, as they have said, in a “first come, first served” basis and this applies to the beach tents. This means you have to get up at 6:30 in the morning to walk to the beach and place a book under your preferred tent in order to reserve it for latter, otherwise you may end up having no shade at all. Truly dreadful!

5. When our booking was confirmed, they have sent us an e-mail with a form asking what our favorite fruit, music and beverages were. Probably this was intended just to help them with a statistical study, for we had no papayas, no Mozart and no Moët et Chandon waiting for us. It was a bad slap in the face, for a first impression upon our arrival.

We had a spectacular vacation. Visited: July 2003

This was our first trip to Turks and Caicos. We stayed at Point Grace and enjoyed every moment. I think many people take slow service as bad service. You have to remember that in the Caribbean, they work at a much slower pace than Americans do. Remember to sit back and enjoy.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our room was the best one we have ever stayed in. It was like staying in a furnished apartment with a great CD/DVD system. Fresh towels were delivered twice a day to our room.

The beach was beautiful and since my husband and I are from Texas, we did not mind the heat. We enjoyed the spa. Make sure you use your complimentary destress massage!

The only problem we had was that we were on the Romantic Getaway package. Since most people are not on the meal plan, they currently do not have an efficient system in place to accommodate this. Sometimes, at meals, we would get a bill totaled with the full price and sometimes we would not. I would have liked to get a bill with the amount we owed, since drinks were not included. But in the end, everything worked out.

I would highly recommend this place.

Absolutely Beautiful!! Visited: June 2003

I have traveled extensively not only in the caribbean, but throughout the world, so I have pretty high standards. I'm happy to say that The Sands met and exceeded almost all of them.

I stayed in a studio which was a very comfortable size although the kitchen was a mini not full. It had a microwave, small fridge, a toaster, and all of the requisite plates, glasses, silverware, etc. Washer/dryers are located in the bathroom.

There is one restaurant - Hemingways. Fortunately, the food is very good here. We ate all of our meals here (due to laziness after a day filled with activities) and were never disappointed. Several other guests did recommend going to Cuba Bella and Bella Luna for dinner for a change of scenery. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming which is not always the case in the caribbean.

You can walk to other restaurants that are located closer to Ocean Club West, but it is a solid 15 minute walk. That doesn't seem like much but in 90 degrees and with no shade along the streets, it can certainly seem much further.

The beaches were gorgeous. The sand is baby powder white with calm, crystal clear blue water. The only place to snorkel off the beach was quite a walk down the beach to the end of Grace Bay. We walked it at a pretty good pace and it took 45 minutes.

There were two reasons I didn't give this resort 5 stars. 1)TV. 2)Bathroom. There was only 1 small TV in the sitting area, so it was pretty impossible to lay in the bed and watch TV at night (a favorite passtime of my significant other). If you're going to have a TV, make it a decent size and convenient to watch. For a resort of this caliber, the bathroom was very small. Functional, but small. I do believe, however, that the bathrooms were bigger in the one bedroom suites.

If you are looking for a place to party, this is not the place for you. It is a place to relax and gather your senses. The island is pretty much asleep by 10pm.

I do not have children, so I always notice the bahavior of children when I am out and about. There were families with children here, and I'm happy to say they were amazingly well behaved and always well attended by their parents. Not like some places where parents drop their kids off and go the other direction and let them run wild.

All in all, I would return and I would stay at The Sands, but I may upgrade to the 1 bedroom suite for a larger bathroom and full kitchen. Other resorts of this caliber to consider include Point Grace (located next door), Ocean Club, and Ocean Club West (great location since you can walk to several restaurants).

We stayed here for a week and had just a wonderful time. The place was intimate and exquisite.

And the pool - what can I say bad? The pool was a "quiet area", and although there were a few kids, the parents all made them respect that fact. The pool bar was excellent. The bartender asked us if we had any CDs he could play for us - we did, and he did play them.

The Point Grace had great pool staff, no towel-police regulations, great shade, fantastic beach, five-star food, large rooms with a kitchen. We would absolutely return.

We spent our honeymoon at Point Grace and could not have asked for more beautiful surroundings.

Our suite was gorgeous and comfortable. I fell in love with the claw foot high back porcelain bathtub and my husband loved that there was a large separate shower as well.

The staff was courteous and by the end of the week, they knew us by name. We did have some issues with the toilet in our room stopping up the first night or two, but the staff was quick to come and fix the problem.

If you want a vacation that really takes you away from it all and leaves you relaxed and rejuvenated, you must visit Point Grace!

I Just returned from a wonderful visit to Point Grace and wanted to say that we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The Gold Getaway was an excellent value and the accomodations were perfect. We have visited many islands and understand that service can a bit slow. However, the resort staff proved this is not always the case. The service was excellent. The staff extremely accomodating and efficient. The spa was a relaxing joy Edmonde, and Anna were first rate technicians and very hospitable, Special thanks to Sadie, Samara and Made. They were warm and naturally willing to please. Charles at the pool and beach made each day even brighter with his smile and ecxeptionel service. Christopher Jarret was very knowlegeable and made us feel like special repeat guest on our fisrt visit. Elies was also a stand out. Wonderful man that delivered first rate service. He even made blue cheese olives for my martini. White Glove service at Grace's Cottage, excellent quality and presentation. from Cold face towels upon arricval at the airport to exceptional service and palatial surroundings, ouy trip will alwais be remembered as our best ever

What a fantastic stay! Visited: November 2002

What a place! I was expecting nice, and I found ultra-nice.

We were booked into one of the one-bedroom cottages around the pool. I was expecting a mediocre room since it was the least expensive--boy was I pleasantly surprised! The furnishings were exquisite, the bathroom was divine, the bed was super comfortable, and we loved the customized CD they made for us. We wanted to move in for good!

The staff was extemely friendly-sometimes a rare find in the Carribbean. But they were always there when we needed something.

I also highly recommend the spa. It was the most serene and beautiful setting I've ever seen. Book your appointment for late afternoon or early evening to get the sunset.

Point Grace was truly an oasis away from it all--and worth every penny! Will be back - and hopefully soon!

This was the best honeymoon spot! Visited: June 2002

My husband and I spent two wonderful weeks at Point Grace and loved every second of it. When we arrived, we were picked up at the airport in a Rolls Royce. The luxury and beauty of the resort never ended.

The resort was private and quiet. We stayed in a one-bedroom oceanview suite. We were on the first floor and had an outdoor patio. We watched every sunset from our balcony.

The staff at Point Grace was professional and courteous. They were the main reason our stay was enjoyable.

This was the best place for a honeymoon. The flight from Chicago only took four hours, and a short flight was key for our honeymoon.

It was a first rate resort providing excellent service. Visited: March 2002

This is one of my top three choices in the Bahamas or Caribbean. It is a small resort that feels like a private villa complex. They have a magnificent pool and pool area.

They also have fabulous rooms with first class appointments. Upon arrival at airport, cold hand towels are awaiting their guests. They have the best beach on Grace Bay and wonderful service from beach to housekeeping. Of course, it always helps when you spread dollar tips about liberally.

They offer excellent food and it is comparably priced. The food is not cheap in these islands, anywhere. They have a great spa and staff with good prices and wonderful basic services.

Grace Cottage provides excellent and romantic dining with exceptional service. The hand stuffed blue cheese olives for your martini is a real treat.

I highly recommend the Gold Getaway plan as it is an excellent value. This was our best vacation in years.

Beautiful resort - disappointing service Visited: February 2002
Posted by dudley
We're back from the Turks and Caicos. We stayed at Point Grace the first two nights of our trip. The facility itself is very nice and even luxurious. The beach is beautiful and long. There was very little surf and the air and water were both plenty warm.

We stayed in an oceanfront two-bedroom suite on the third floor of the east building. It was beautiful inside with huge bathrooms and marble floors. It had a full gourmet kitchen as well. The elevator was out of service during the entire time of our stay. This was not a problem for us, but it was not our expectation to have to climb three stories each time we returned to or left our room.

I was very disappointed in the service at this resort. The employees were friendly enough, it was just completely disorganized and they didn't seem to care that they kept making errors.

They failed to schedule two spa sessions that we had reqested even though we had confirmation that they had received our request. They failed to schedule a requested taxi for a dinner reservation, even though they had written down our request and an employee had signed for it. Our toilet broke (failed to refill the tank) and they failed to respond to our call for service for more than 8 hours at which point we reported it a second time. They fixed it and then it broke again two hours later. It was broken for most of our stay.

When we went to check out, they wanted to charge us for our stay a second time even though it was a pre-paid stay. It took a telephone call to the US (our expense) to resolve the issue.

We would not stay at this resort again. There are too many other great places to stay in the Caribbean.

Peaceful Seclusion Visited: July 2001
Posted by j_michael_newlon
If I continue to find facilities like Point Grace, I will never stay in a large resort again. We were visiting on our tenth anniversary and could not have felt any closer to being on our honeymoon. As a matter of fact it was probably even more romantic.

We were upset that we could not reserve a beachfront room, and were worried that the "Cottage Suite" would be just another room facing the pool and parking lot. We could not have been more surprised and pleased with the accommodations. In addition to the very romantic four-poster bed and the view from the deck overlooking the pool, the beach was amazing. We spent hours on the deck under the ceiling fans listening to the ocean and watching the stars.

Although the food was expensive, the full kitchen in our suite allowed us to supplement the free continental breakfasts with munchies and beverages to get us through to dinner out on the town.

The Point Grace staff was wonderful and if we ever make it back to Provo, we know there will only be one place to stay.

My wife and I stayed here and enjoyed the best vacation we've ever had.

The staff was great and the rooms were fantastic. It was like having your own cottage.

The beach was white, clean, and most days we shared it with only one or two other couples.

Stunning rooms and views! Visited: April 2001
Posted by moran
Point Grace could probably win an award for best rooms in the Caribbean! The suites are spectacular with incredible views, huge bathrooms, full luxury kitchens, four-poster king-size beds, very romantic. In addition, gorgeous Grace Bay Beach is the nicest beach I have ever seen -- the most turquoise water, powder sand and you can walk forever. If you want serenity in a spectacular setting, this is the place for you. Highly recommend it for a honeymoon, I do not recommend it for families as there are more appropriate places for children on Provo.

The down side is the overpriced food and drinks but this did not matter to us, we just went to other restaurants! You do get good value for the price of the room including a lavish breakfast buffet, wine and canapes every evening and a free shuttle to the golf course. It was nice getting to know the staff at this small property. Lovely landscaping, the best I saw on a very dry island!
