We just returned from a stay at Villa Paprika, and there are not enough wonderful things our family can say about this beautiful property. We had a group of twelve staying and the layout provided enough space for us to have our own privcacy when needed, and ample space for us to share family time. We are definitely coming back to Villa Paprika for our next family vacation!

I spent one week here - from November 6 - 13. With all I had read on this site, I really didn't know what to expect. My take is that people who want to find fault with something - will.
My family and I enjoyed the Sands very much. The staff was cheerful and eager to please. Despite damage from Hurricane Ike, the resort has attended to all that needed fixing. Yes, we had some scaffolding outside our room for a day or two as they were repairing gutters, but it was no big deal. The workers were as invisible as they could be, and they got their work done in a timely fashion.
Our room was a garden view on the first floor (in building #4). We were most pleased with both the condition of the room and the daily service provided.
The beach was wonderful, and we saw JoJo three different days!
The entire island was not cheap, but we were pleased with the quality of the food - and we did try several restaurants.
All in all, I found the belongers very friendly. If the occasion presents itself, I would go back and stay at the Sands.
No matter where you are planning to go for some quality time, I would suggest that you look at all the good things you have surrounded yourself with. Your time, no matter where, will be a much better experience.

My daughter and I were lucky enough to travel to the Turks & Caicos and stay at The Tuscany. It was a beautiful resort, located right on the beach.
The rooms were stylish, very clean, and had all the needed amenities, including a cellphone. Our room opened right onto the beach, which made sitting on the lanai wonderful both in the morning and at night.
The pool was very nice, so we went back and forth between there and the beach.
The staff was fantastic, and they made our stay delightful.
We rented a car and were able to go to nearby restaurants, grocery stores and other areas of the island quite easily.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this fantastic property.

My wife and I stayed at Grace Bay Suites this summer and can strongly recommend this as a great place to stay - particularly for those on a budget.
We'd only intended to visit for one week, but as it was so cheap we booked for two.
The hotel was just three minutes walk from Grace Bay Beach. Because of the central location, everything was close-by; a gym at Salt Mills Plaza, plenty of shopping for souvenirs or sundries and a good choice of restaurants.
Nearby was one of our favorite places for brunch on island, the Sibonne, where you can just sit for hours watching the sea. Hemingways (at the Sands) was a relaxed place for dinner.
Also, not too far along the beach either and right on your doorstep, there was Danny Buoys Pub, where we could even order and have our drinks delivered as we lazed by the pool. In addition, a direct telephone line from the pool to the pub was a great touch! Food here was simple, but it was a good choice - and great pub grub!
We are both divers, and because of the great deal on the hotel, we were able to spend at least a whole week diving.
The place had only just opened, so things were still developing. For example, the landscaping. However, this did not worry us in the least, as we spent most of the day diving or on the beach.
The room was large and comfortable, and the staff was warm and friendly without being intrusive.
If you want a place to relax, chill out, and escape from the stress of every day life (without it costing you a fortune), this is the place to go! We will definitely come back.

The Pearl Lounge is a great place to have a before dinner cocktail - or outside in the zen-like garden with water feature and candles. It is very romantic.
Once inside, the chic inside space with the lofty crystal chandeliers and the all white motif is a perfect setting for a most rewarding dining experience.
We loved the service - and especially the unique food presentations. The choices were plentiful, as it was hard to decide. It was one of the best meals we had on island.

We have traveled to many islands and have fallen in love with TCI. We just got back from our second trip.
Our first stay was at The Somerset. Wow. We were blown away by the suites. We stayed in a one-bedroom English Cottage, with full Viking stainless kitchen, two full baths, and beautifully furnished living and dining room. There was also a great big master, plus a loft with a sofa bed and third plasma TV - nicer than most homes!
The staff was so nice, helpful, and friendly.
The two restaurants were great, and the pool bar was nice and offered great casual fare. The upscale , O'Soleil was so beautiful, and offered fantastic food! The complimentary breakfast was served here every am. It was the perfect spot to start the day!
We love it, and plan to return.

Somerset was sensational.Visited: August 2008

I have traveled to at least a dozen islands, and Turks and Caicos and the Somerset heads our list.
We encountered friendly staff, great service and a most beautiful environment. The suites were immaculate with the highest of finishes, stunning architecture and well layed out grounds and pools.
They had the most comfortable beach loungers and excellent beach service.
We have already made return reservations. It was a fabulous, relaxing vacation that exceeded our expectations.

I have just returned from a week at Club Med Turkoise.
The staff was excellent. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff. They were friendly, helpful, accommodating, and genuinely caring. The Chief of Sports (Gentil), to the sailing instructor (John), and even the employees of the boutique (notably Sarah) - I was extremely happy and actually sad to leave. The bar staff was also great!
Before my stay, I was slightly worried about the food and drinks included in my all-inclusive package. The drinks were perfect, and the food was amazing. You are going to want to order some chocolate bread to take home.
The room was nicely appointed, and a good size. It could use a decor update, but as a decorator I might just be nitpicking.
However, the bed was not very comfortable, and I found the water closet unappealing. I think it could be updated and tiled to match the lovely decor in the shower and sink room.
The closet space was ample, the view was lovely, and the maintenance and housekeeping staff were excellent. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous.
Also, I was very happy with all the activities that were available, and with the shows the staff put on.

A Turks and Caicos travel review
Please be cautious!

We had heard that 'this is the safest island in the Caribbean'. But please be cautious.
When my husband and I arrived for our honeymoon, we asked several staff members whether or not it was okay/safe to walk in Grace Bay. Most staff said "Yes- you can" and one said "If your lady is looking nice, she probably won't want to walk". None of these statements cautioned us to the possible danger awaiting us.
On Friday evening, our last night in Turks and Caicos, my husband and I ate dinner at Coco Bistro, and walked to the Port of Call. Around 11:00, we were nearly to The Regent Palms, on foot, when an older SUV pulled behind us, on the wrong side of the road, and two men demanded our money and wallets! With dangerously intimidating knives, my purse was stolen, within 25 feet to the entrance to The Regent Palms hotel.
Security officers and local police did speak with us, and we gave several witness statements. No one has been apprehended in the case, however.
We wish we would have known this information before taking our honeymoon in Turks and Caicos. Unfortunately, the beautiful beaches and gorgeous hotel have been overshadowed by this truly shocking and terribly upsetting incident.

This is the most amazing beach in the Caribbean.

This beach has to be seen to be believed. It shallows out very slowly - which makes it perfect for little kids. We love to bring a bottle of wine and watch the sun go down.

They provided excellent service and had great food!

We stayed just down the beach, but dined at Hemingway's twice during our vacation. Dinner was incredible, and the service was superb.
Ask for Korna! He was attentive, personable, friendly and kind. No other dinner experience compared.
My mom had the fish and chips, which was excellent (under $14), and I had the catch of the day (which was a little more pricy, but delicious).
Our breakfast a couple of days later was tasty as well. The prices were not at all out of line. Breakfast was $8-9 per plate. I had three pancakes with slivered almonds, fresh strawberries and bananas, and whipped cream.

What an incredible location! In an effort to conserve water, we did not opt for housekeeping, but our room was very clean upon check-in.
While amenities like flat screen TVs or updated furnishings did not exist, the room was efficient. I wish there had been either a microwave or toaster, however.
The continental breakfast was toast, fruit, o.j. and coffee. There were no substitutions, but extras (eggs, a side of bacon, an English muffin) were only $2-3 additional.
Junior, the bartender on the website, was the most friendly employee at this hotel. Unfortunately, most (not all) other people were unfriendly and/or disinterested in anything resembling customer service.
