It was paradise! Visited: March 2005

Turks and Caicos Club is truly the place to spend an amazing vacation on this wonderful island.

We visited during Easter week - what should be the busiest time of year - and it still felt we had the place to ourselves! Many times our family (two teens along with my husband and me) had the beach to ourselves.

Lavonda and Sheryl (reception) were extremely helpful in making reservations, getting taxis, and helping however they could. Roger (beach activities) was always ready to help set up extra chairs on the beach, get the catamaran ready to go, get us drinks, whatever - he was great!

Our room (two-bedroom suite) was perfect for our family - very clean and quite large in size! We quickly got a DVD player upon request and when we realized we had no toaster and our blender was broken, they were immediately replaced.

The location of this hotel was perfect, too. It was a five- minute walk to the reef outside the Coral Gardens hotel, and a 20 minute walk from Smith's reef, which we found to be a better snorkeling area. The gecko shuttle stopped outside the resort gate, which we used the whole week to get around.

We hope to return to Turks and Caicos, and can't imagine a better place to stay than the Turks and Caicos Club!

This place was amazing! Visited: July 2004

We stayed at the Turks and Caicos Club in June/July. It was absolutely gorgeous. For the first three days we were the only guests on their beautiful beach! The facility was first rate, the hospitality was wonderful, and we'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Just got back from the Providenciales, and my advice is beware of those mouth watering reviews that propagate all over the web.
Based on the internet, the only resource available except if you have already been there, I hava chosen to take my annual Caribbean trip to the T&C and stay at the Turks and Caicos Club. The T&C Club, although a fine property cannot be ranked as a 5 star Resort. The island is like a big construction site. Roads are not real roads, and it makes it very uncomfortable to travel around, even on a JEEP. Grace Bay is OK, but provided you have at least 4 or 5 other nice beaches in the island, maybe you would like to go and visit them. You are instantly discouraged by all the holes and bumps you have to go through, not to mention the fact that only if you are very lucky you will ever get there (I did not see a single road sign giving you any directions). T&C Club is nice as I mentioned before but:
Service is very discrete, even too much discrete.
Pick up at the airport does not exist, though when we arrived to the hotel we were paid for the taxi fare.
On arrival we found that SIMBA (yes, after King Lion) was close for Dinner (the chef left) and was changing management.
Simba which also served as a pool bar was sometimes open (when the manager was not walking her dog on the beach.
The pool (oversized, I’ve seen somewhere) is a very small set between the Ocean Front Villa and the main building. Not nice whatsoever.
The bathroom is very small and plain. Big kitchen tough, very important if you plan to spend you holiday in the kitchen, as it occupies almost half your living room.
A last word for the staff (and management) who was EXTREMELLY helpful and correct t all times. Given all this calling it a 5 star resort is NOT correct. Although prices are in fact 5 stars, here and all over the island.
We then changed to Villa Renaissance (also not a 5 star), but with 5 star rates. Nicer pool, bigger and better bathrooms, but no restaurant, no bar after 8 PM, hard to get beach towels, etc, etc…
Restaurants: If you are looking for high quality restaurants and can afford stay within ANACAONA, GRACE COTTAGE for the settings, general ambiance and food; also BACI by the marina had very nice food but a not so nice setting. Avoid Bela Luna (I would anyway). I do not think I will be back, either to the T&C Club or the Providenciales. I will save my space to all those PROVO fans. Let them enjoy.

This was one of the best! Visited: February 2004

W just returned from a seven-day stay and it was wonderful! We were in a beachfront one-bedroom. We had an amazing view, with brand new everything, and it was big and comfortable.

The beach was spectacular. Swimming was perfect, and there was great snorkeling just down the beach. It was not a "resort" in the typical sense. It was very quiet, with only one restaurant, and no sundries shop.

Why only four stars? Pick up at the airport was almost an hour late (even after several calls). Also, "included deluxe continental breakfast" was two rolls and a piece of toast and coffee. It may seem petty, but at these prices, not okay. However, we will definitely return.

Turks and Caicos Club provides relaxed luxury in an exquisite location Visited: November 2003
Posted by tracyhyams
This first class hotel had a half-price special during November, which was a wonderful bargain. I wanted peaceful luxury, which I found.

The suites were large and beautiful. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in - and the bedroom was a step up from the rest of the suite so I could lie in bed and watch the ocean.

My room was in the oceanfront building, ground floor, and had a huge covered patio looking out to the boardwalk and ocean - the perfect place to relax and read while still listening to the ocean waves.

The owners of this hotel lived on-site and were genuinely interested in all feedback. The beach was spectacular and pristine, with good snorkeling a three-minute walk away. This was a quiet part of Grace Bay - peaceful!

My only complaint was with prices at Simba restaurant - the included "deluxe continental" breakfast was great, but other meals/drinks were pricy! Luckily the suite's kitchen was wonderful, and the twice-daily maid service did all the dishes, so I could prepare light meals.

If you go diving (superb, try Flamingo Divers) or sailing (Sail Provo) they will pick you up, but a car is needed if you want to explore on your own. This is a highly recommended hotel.

This is a fantastic place! Visited: October 2003

We just got back from the Turks and Caicos Club and had a wonderful time. The hotel was right on the white sand beach and our suite overlooked the gorgeous water. We've never seen anything like it. Sometimes a brochure looks better than it really is, but this proved not to be the case. Everything was even more beautiful in person.

Our suite was very large and we were able to cook in several nights. The grocery store was very close. We had dinner several times at the hotel at Simba, and it was fantastic. The food and presentation were marvelous. Some of our favorites were the curry coconut shrimp, the mandarin conch ceviche and the French style rack of lamb was as good as any top restaurant in New York.

The pool bar offered lighter food throughout the day which was nice. Overall, it was a great place and we hope to return soon.

Our stay here was simply wonderful Visited: August 2003
Posted by gcp3
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Turks and Caicos Club. Our one-bedroom, ocean-front suite with huge terrace overlooking the beach was spacious, clean, and comfortable.

The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. By the way, we did not encounter mosquitoes, and the sand never burned our feet. We also snorkeled around a reef that was within walking distance from the hotel.

As for food, they delivered a continental breakfast every morning, which was enough food for us to start the day. We ate at Simba twice (dinner ($120+) and lunch ($40+)). We also ate at the Tiki Hut and Coyaba ($120 incl. service fee, gratuity, and tax).

We also frequented the IGA twice and bought food for the times that we just wanted to wind down in our suite and watch DVDs or relax on our balcony.

We rented a car from Scooter Bob for two days, which allowed us to explore the island a little. We golfed 18-holes at the Provo Golf and Country Club one afternoon. We also rode ponies on Long Beach with Tammy and Louise of Provo Ponies. Our ride, which was not for the timid, was very fun! We also took an enjoyable beach cruise was with Silver Dee. If you want a few activities and to relax, Provo is perfect.

We have memories to last of lifetime! Visited: August 2003
Posted by jenglish87
Each time my wife and I think back to our honeymoon, we smile and smile and smile. The Turks and Caicos Club was perfect after our very large wedding in New York.

The Turks and Caicos Club was small and intimate, located on the whitest sand beach we have ever seen with the most turquoise blue water it doesn't look real. And it was just simply so romantic.

The resort was breathtaking to look at against the blue sky, blue water and white sand and the hotel concierges were so great, we miss them already! We had the chance to scuba dive which was fantastic, dine under the pool gazebo privately, and just simply relax and enjoy the beautiful Turks and Caicos Islands.

Sometimes we had to remember that we were on "island time" which meant things went a bit slower on the islands, not "rush rush" like we are used to in our daily lives.

To sum it up, it was a honeymoon to remember!

It was great all the way! Visited: April 2003

We took our baby to the Turks and Caicos Club this past April. Wow! They picked the perfect suite for us (suite 6) so that we could easily use our stroller to get around with our baby.

The entire staff was really friendly and treated us like royalty! There were full, gourmet kitchens in each suite, so we decided to cook for ourselves during several lunches and dinners so that the baby could nap. Basically we cooked, and they cleaned! It was great! If we had known this, we would have cooked more often.

There was also a new IGA grocery store a short cab ride away with everything we needed. I would recommend definitely picking up food for lunch and breakfast.

The beach was only steps away down the beautiful boardwalk. I went swimming there several times and I was totally alone. The sand was beautiful. We loved sitting outside on our porch, too.

My husband golfs, so we went to the wonderful Provo Golf and Country Club twice. We also had lunch there and the food was yummy. They had a beautiful course.

Don't miss Wednesday nights at the Tiki Hut Restaurant for all-you-can-eat ribs. This was casual food at its best with an interesting view of the water. There were also other restaurants in this area that you could check out. We don't like fancy food too much. For instance, we went to the Coral Garden's restaurant for dinner (about $150) and could have done without it.

This island was a good place to go if you don't want to do that much. We swam, read, watched TV in the evenings and cooked together. It was a perfect vacation for what we wanted.

At the hotel, Lorna will graciously plan any event you want to go on. The owner, Rob, is very laid-back and friendly. This place is luxury without the "puff". We loved it!

Kudos to Turks and Caicos Club! Visited: April 2003

We just got back after deciding last minute to take a trip for the holidays to Provo. We found the Turks & Caicos Club as one of the Best of Where to Stay properties. What an excellent choice!

It was perfect rest and relaxation and even with the kids (ages five and seven). Babysitting was available when my wife and I wanted a night alone to eat at the hotel's restaurant Simba, or do something else.

The hotel itself was spectacular against the beautiful white sand beach and turquoise water, and the rooms were just beautiful. We spent the days snorkeling at the Princess Alexandra reef right next to the hotel, working out in the mornings at the hotel’s well-equipped fitness room, relaxing on the uncrowded beach and also drinking rum punches from the poolside bar.

The hotel staff was so friendly that we felt like they were part of our family throughout the entire trip. They arranged pretty much anything for guests as far as golfing, diving, day trips, etc.

We look forward to going back sometime soon and seeing everyone again. Best of Where to Stay in our book, too! Thanks Turks & Caicos Club!

It was worth the price! Visited: February 2003
Posted by tundergarth
What a lovely surprise! On a whim, we booked this new hotel in spite of what seemed a very high price; it just sounded good.

Our suite overlooked the ocean with a large living room, dining area and kitchen. The separate bedroom with four poster bed was about as comfortable as any bed we have ever encountered in a hotel.

Although there were a few minor irritations, these will surely be fixed after the "shakedown" time is over. The owner was on premises during our stay and he was most helpful. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. And you can't beat that wonderful Caribbean water!

Effortless luxury says it all! Visited: January 2003

This hotel was so gorgeous and the staff so accommodating, it was a five star all the way. We celebrated our 10th anniversary at the new Turks & Caicos Club having found it listed as one of the most romantic retreats in Travel and Leisure magazine and really enjoyed the upscale, yet casual and unstuffy atmosphere.

The hotel, which looked like a colonial estate, was beautifully set on a quiet secluded stretch of Grace Bay Beach, away from the crowds of the other hotels which was perfect for a quiet yet fun escape.

The rooms were immaculate and beautifully decorated with themes of Africa and a touch of Hemingway. All the water sports were included, and we arranged through the hotel a diving trip which was one of the best dives we had ever been on. We also enjoyed golfing at the Provo Golf Club and the staff was so gracious to arrange our tee times for us.

We love to cook and on nights that we weren’t eating at the hotel’s gourmet restaurant, Simba, we were able to cook in the gourmet kitchen in our private suite. It gave us the perfect combination of cooking romantic dinners in and also dining at Simba. The food at Simba was exquisite with gorgeous plates of Caribbean cuisine. The food was a work of art served on a different kind of plate for each meal and tasted just as wonderful.

The staff at the Turks & Caicos Club was more than accommodating and exceeded our expectations at every level. There was a very personal feel to this small hotel and “effortless luxury” was no doubt the right description. We truly enjoyed staying at a place where the quality of the resort was five-star all the way, but we didn’t have to feel like we had to be all buttoned up. We plan on returning and highly recommend this resort.
