5.0 stars This was a fantastic, cosy getaway! Visited: July 2005

My wife and honeymooned at Carringtons Inn during July of 2003 (OK, I had to lie to the website's review form because it only accepts reviews from 2005 on). It was the true bed-and-breakfast and "anti" mega-hotel experience! From the immaculately cozy room (the largest suite) to the scrumptious homemade breakfasts to the relaxing poolside hammocking, we had a great time. You could actually have a great vacation just hanging at the Inn!

Claudia and Roger of the Carringtons Inn were outstanding hosts and attended to every detail of the inn with extreme care and beautiful taste.

The inn had five rooms, and we stayed in the spacious Flamboyant Room, which had a private balcony overlooking the harbor of Christiansted. It was well worth the extra $10/night!

The room was much larger than we expected. It had a kitchen area, and a large bathroom with two sinks. Claudia and Roger supplied the refigerator with complementary drinks, which we welcomed after a long day of travel.

The Inn was located on top of a hill with spectacular views of Christiansted and the harbor. We loved sitting on our balcony to take in the view after a day of exploring the island.

Every morning we were greeted with a large and delicious breakfast that was different each of the four days we were here. For example, one day we had scrambled eggs with sun-dried tomatoes and sausages, and another day we had hot cereal, pancakes, and fruit.

The inn also had a lovely sitting area that overlooked the harbor, and it had a bar run on an honor system. Beer and drinks were $2, and bottles of water were $1--very reasonable! And one night, Claudia put out complementary ice-cream for everyone.

In addition to being warm and gracious hosts, Claudia and Roger were extremely helpful with ideas for restaurants and beaches. We just loved everything about the Carringtons Inn and cannot wait to go back!

5.0 stars This was the most relaxing place to stay! Visited: November 2004

We have stayed at Carringtons Inn for the last four years and will be returning again this November. It is fabulous.

Roger and Claudia say we are part of the family now and we feel like it! It's not "on" the beach, but the view over the harbor is spectacular. We always stay in the Flamboyant room which is very large with a private balcony and a kitchenette. There are so many nice touches...the beach towels are even from Lands End.

Breakfast is incredible and I always overeat because they fix so much. And it tastes so good! Every year I look forward to seeing what new recipes they've found. Roger and Claudia are always there to answer questions and make reservations, but they also give us plenty of privacy.

I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else on the island.

Thank you! Thank you! The hospitality was at its best. Ronald and I are now having a big breakfast every morning in keeping with the tradition of Carringtons Inn.

I also told everyone about the size of the rooms, the nice fluffy towels, the crisp sheets, the smooth blankets, the entire inn felt very comfortable and gave us the opportunity to relax and feel at home.

I think that this is a gift that you both have. Thanks for using it so willingly. Wow. We feel as though we are a lucky couple to have experienced such a great week. It was just want our bodies required. Thank you.

Claudia and Roger - we love you two. Thanks for having the next best thing to our own home in St. Croix.

They give you the keys to the house and tell you to make it your own. They provide a casual atmosphere, a well stocked honor bar, pool, extensive music collection, clean rooms, and great breakfasts - love them sausages, Claudia! If they had a beach, you'd never have to leave.

We will be back!

This is much more than a "bed and breakfast".
We wish to repeat our stay very soon.

The Carringtons Inn was a fantastic place to stay. The view of Christiansted and the Bay were wonderful. Our room was clean and well taken care of.

Breakfast was a treat each morning. The hostess and host were very friendly and helpful, and offered great suggestions on things to do and see. One does need to have a car to get from the Inn to other sites in St. Croix, and the pool was a bit on the cool side. We would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Don't let the informal approach to Carringtons Inn fool you. It may not be the biggest and certainly not the most formal hotel on St Croix, but its charm and warmth are there in plenty.

It is neatly ordered, and very clean. Arranged around a pool and courtyard, the bedrooms are all different, spacious, and a bit like living outdoors really.

Set above Christiansted, with views over the town, the sea breezes that waft through the courtyard keep the temperature bearable.

Carringtons Inn doesn't provide dinner, but they certainly do breakfast. What makes this place special is the ability of Roger and Claudia to generate a wonderful atmosphere of bon homie with the guests from all over the world chatting around the breakfast table whilst they effortlessly prepare sumptuous breakfasts -every day something different. The pancakes are there to be smothered with homemade syrups and jellies, all washed down by tropical fruit juices ad lib.

Advice on what to do, and where to go is spot-on - after all, they've been there and done that! If you want to experience the real St Croix, then this is the place to stay.

We had the perfect wedding capped off by the perfect honeymoon.

I never once referred to the inn as "the hotel". My wife and I caught ourselves referring to it as home. "What time do you want to go home?", "Im going to take a shower when I get home". We felt like we were staying at an aunt's house.

The breakfasts were incredible. We stayed in the "Morning Glory". The view was amazing and made us feel like we were floating in the clouds. I'll never want to stay at an ordinary hotel again.

The Carringtons Inn in St. Croix has that real "island feel" to it. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

The view of Christiansted Harbor is absolutely beautiful. The inn feels like home rather than a hotel, and most importantly, Claudia and Roger are great. They are friendly, informative, and can cook up a mean breakfast!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with them would like to thank them for making me feel so welcome and for making my stay so comfortable. I would recommend their inn to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway in St. Croix.

We had an excellent time at Carrington's Inn St. Croix. It was spotless, relaxing and comfortable. The owners and staff were friendly, approachable, helpful and all around nice.

There was an incredible view from the inn, and the pool was very refreshing. It really felt like our home-away-from-home. We are going to recommend it to all of our friends. Breakfast was good, too!

We were well received by the Carringtons upon arrival. Flambouyant room was an excellent accommodation with a wonderful view of Christiansted and the harbor, especially at night.

We were close to restaurants, shopping, golf and tennis in Christiansted and Fredericksted areas. It was quiet and restful, and the morning breakfasts were outstanding with an excellent presentation. Would recommend it to others who travel and we will definitely return.
