This place seemed to come right out of the movies! Visited: January 2006 Posted by dmroy1996 Our 25th wedding anniversary could not have been more romantic or amazing. Not a single detail was overlooked - from the fresh flowers in every room to the sumptuous towels and linens. Perfection was everywhere ... fantastic views, privacy, great wine and a kitchen you'd want to take home! Visited: April 2002 Posted by mlhackwo My wife and I took our two daughters and son and their families to the Villa, a total of eight people. In short, it was an incredibly wonderful experience. The views were truly spectacular. The Caribbean views were 180 degrees and included a faint distant shot of St. Thomas USVI at night glowing in the distance. The romance of those views was intoxicating. The Villa was historical, but was really only about 10 years old, and itself was a dramatic piece of extraordinarily comfortable architecture. This was a first class villa-style home with two master suites, both with stunning views. Stress just melted away, almost instantly. You have to be of iron will to plug into the internet here! The floor plan was spacious, and the bedroom suites were secluded from each other, giving everyone their own space. There were five gathering spaces: the kitchen, the great room, the veranda, the lower pool and patio, and a mid level semi-private courtyard with adjacent barbecue. All of them overlooked the Caribbean! There was only one glass window in the house, all other windows were open, to create an incredible feeling of openness and allow sea breezes to drift through the entire home. The furniture was tropical teak, largely from the South Pacific, and included comfortable sofas and wonderfully comfortable beds. The home was robustly appointed and felt just like home, including a great stereo with a full library of Caribbean and jazz CDs! The Villa was generously provisioned with top-of-the-line towels, linens (my wife marveled at the sheets), kitchen supplies, even snorkel gear! We recommend Cane Bay for beach activities. There was hardly anyone there on weekdays, and there is decent snorkeling to boot! Cane Bay was about ten minutes down the hill from the Villa. Christiansted was 20 minutes away. We ate out five nights, with good availability of casual fine dining and pure casual, and had catered dinners four nights. We used Ambrosia Personal Chefs and were very pleased with their menus, execution and reliability. (Have them provision the kitchen with your preferences for breakfast, and munchies, etc.) The catered dinners were about the same price as fine dining. It was a great experience: dining by candle light in a secluded beautiful villa, under the veranda overlooking the Caribbean Sea, the ultimate in romance! The only downside was the potholes! The drive up to the villa, on Scenic Road, had many potholes to steer around. We could only average 10 – 15 MPH through much of the road. But then, it does keep the casual sightseers away!
