I enjoyed the peace and quiet. Visited: March 2007 Posted by debledel I loved staying at this place. It was quiet and peaceful. The view was spectacular. Food and entertainment was close by. Visited: March 2005 Posted by mytmusic It was paradise. This could not have been any easier. Curlson met us at Duffy's Love Shack in Red Hook and guided us to our island paradise. It was beyond our expectations. The living quarters were charming and very "islandish". We loved the nice touch of island music CDs to play in the car. The best part was going to Sapphire Bay each morning for a nice swim and snorkel. Just around the corner was Hook for lunch at Molly Malone's and then for dinner a quick ferry ride to St. John. What a life in paradise! Curlson and Gail were as gracious as could be. They made staying there so inviting. It was peaceful and quiet. Thanks for a great vacation, Connie. Visited: November 2004 Posted by djbeebo Now this is paradise! After renting our car at the airport, we drove to a predetermined meeting place and our hosts escorted us to our vacation "home". We stayed for two wonderful weeks at this beautiful, flower-bedecked hillside villa. And what a value! When we compared prices with resorts, Villa Ocean Kaleidoscope was thousands of dollars less! A wonderful surprise was finding that whenever we wanted, we could use the fantastic white-sand beach and calm turquoise water at the Sapphire Beach Resort just down the hill! It seemed all the beaches on St. Thomas were open to the public. The accommodations at the villa were spacious yet cozy, totally private and secure, and provided every necessity. The Main villa, where we stayed, was very roomy and comfortable with a king bed, huge walk-in closet, living and dining room and a full kitchen. We ate "in" many times because we wanted to just sit, relax and enjoy our lovely surroundings. We especially loved the ambiance created by the Caribbean "chic" furnishings, the island artwork, and the beautiful gardens surrounding our very own courtyard, deck and covered terrace. We must have taken 100 pictures of the 180 degree view, especially the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. We spent each morning lounging on the deck, easing into the day with a cup of island coffee. In fact, the east end, hillside location near Red Hook delivered the best views on the island, in our opinion. The panorama of Sapphire Beach, St. John and the BVIs was a daily, breathtaking spectacle. Our gracious owner-hosts, Gail and Curlson, could not have been nicer nor more personable and professional. Although they were always available with answers to our questions, or helpful recommendations, we seldom saw or heard them. Yet they even provided such thoughtful touches as Caribbean music on CDs, videos, books, a gas grill, beach towels, beach chairs, ice packs and a cooler - even laundry pick-up, all much appreciated. Ocean Kaleidoscope met or exceded all our expectations! Visited: April 2004 Posted by ag5krace We booked this villa sight unseen. The owner, Curlson, met us at our rental car agency and we followed him to the villa. We were pleasantly surprised to find a secure, secluded property high atop St. Thomas. The location was great in that it had a fantastic view looking out toward St. John, and at the same time was only three to five minutes from Red Hook on the East end of the island along with several beaches. From what we found by driving over most of the island, the Red Hook area was our favorite. Curlson and Gail were really nice and genuinely concerned that we enjoyed ourselves. We did! We discussed giving Ocean Kaleidoscope four stars since it didn't have a daily cleaning service or a pool, but, we decided that wasn't what we were looking for in a villa or we would have gone to a hotel. Visited: November 2003 Posted by masonsone The villa was incredibly comfortable, with a great view and perfect location, just minutes from beaches and the 'salty' nightlife of Red Hook. Our hosts, Curlson and Gail, were the nicest two people we've ever met. Our accommodations were perfect in every way. The view was breathtaking. Gail and Curlson were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The Villa and Cottage worked out perfectly for our multi-generation vacationers. This is something everyone dreams about! Visited: March 2002 Posted by skarlotte I was lucky enough to find Ocean Kaleidoscope in 2001. I love it so much that I cry everytime that I leave. Gail and Curlson (the owners) make our stay that much more enjoyable. The views are something you would see on a postcard. I could not imagine staying anywhere else. You are within 20 minutes of whereever you want to be. At night, you can open the doors and listen to the ocean breeze while it helps you go to sleep. Duffy's Love shack is only a 5 minute drive and it is always fun. Also, the beach is right below you, and you can see the BVI and St. John from your balcony.
