Our second choice became our first choice! Visited: July 2005 Posted by disnyjen After finding out that our first choice villa (Sand Dollar) jumped up double in price (after three couples saved for over a year at that point), we cancelled and quickly scrambled for another in that same time slot. Secretly I adored Infinity, and was thrilled to learn it was available for "our week." It was the best thing that could have happened. This villa knocked our socks off with its expanse, furnishings and drop-dead gorgeous views. On top of Skyline Drive, its location offered us a travel-brochure-perfect view of the harbor of Charlotte Amalie, and we enjoyed the cool breezes that floated upward. In the evenings, it was even a bit too cool to swim in its huge infinity pool. The grounds were impeccable as well, with tropical plantings surrounding palms that dotted the pool and lounge areas. At night, the villa seemed to come alive with decorative lights that highlighted the architectural elements of the different pavilions, the plantings, and the pool. The kitchen was fully-equipped, and the separate wet bar area came in handy for all our blending and mixing. The bedrooms were distinctly different, but held to the British Colonial tropical decor and were air conditioned for comfort. I truly felt as if I were on top of the world, as this villa gave us a view on all four sides: harbor, Magens Bay, vista toward St. John, and finally a distant St. Croix. Our central location was perfect for dining and shopping. Renting a car was a great idea, and we were able to tour the island at our own speed. Infinity Villa is a five-star vacation "home", filled with personal touches of the owners.
