Beautiful grounds and resort, but not alot to do. Visited: December 1969 Posted by nicole1974 My husband and I spent the first week of our honeymoon at the Carambola and it was wonderful. The resort was beautifully landscaped with lots of different plants and trees. The rooms were furnished in ratan furniture and all the doors and windows were actual shutters (no glass). The screened in balcony was a plus at night. The beach on the west side was okay but the east side had alot of sea urchins. My husband loved the snorkeling on this beach. The staff were friendly and helpful as long as you kept in mind that you were on island time. The resort was very quiet, not alot to do in the resort or surrounding area. The Friday night buffet was one of the best buffets that I've ever been too. All the fresh grilled fish, chicken, ribs, shrimp, snow crab legs, etc...you could eat.
