5.0 stars We received amazing service. Visited: March 2009

We had been sailing in the BVI for a week, so checking into Miller Manor on the US side floored us (Miller Manor's service > BVI service).

The staff was genuinely friendly, and joined us at the bar where we received a complementary drink just for staying there. When we asked about calling a taxi to the airport, they even tried to arrange a carpool with a couple who was flying out/returning their car at the same time.

Plus, everything was clean, and there was free Internet and computers for guest use. When traveling, Internet is like manna.

I stayed at Miller Manor coming and going on my trip. The folks here were very nice, and the view from the little terrace bar was wonderful. Here, I could get a simple, inexpensive breakfast to start my day.

I would certainly stay here again.

5.0 stars It is fabulous and affordable. Visited: February 2008

I stayed here for five months in 2008, and felt fortunate to have found Miller Manor, arriving on a whim during high season. They have weekly rates (although the weekly rooms are seldom empty). They are the most affordable in all of the USVI and BVI, indeed the entire Caribbean, for long term stays.

All but three rooms have their own balcony with fabulous views of the Charlotte Amelie Bay. The owners, Marge and Harry are incredibly nice, interesting, helpful, informative, and absolutely wonderful people.

Miller Manor is located a literal five-minute walk to ferries, the sea plane, the safaris (St. Thomas' public transportation - $1 short stops - $2 will take you from one end of the island to the other, no need to rent a car), shops, grocery, banks, restaurants etc.

All the conveniences of home are provided including washer/dryer, Internet access, phone with message system, fridge, microwave (some rooms have kitchens), linens etc. There is an open bar, pizza on Fridays, and Marge will provide breakfast upon request.

I highly recommend this place whether you're staying for a few nights or longer. Because everything is built on a hill in St. Thomas, there are stairs and hills to climb. But the upside is it keeps or gets you in shape - I lost 30 pounds without even trying!

Also, one of the things I loved about Miller Manor is that I felt part of island life. Here, you're not hidden away in some gated community where you'll only meet American vacationers.

2.0 stars This was a nice and reasonablly priced place to stay. Visited: June 2006

My fiancé and I stayed here for two nights. After much searching online, we chose it based on reviews and the price.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Dan and Colleen, who confirmed our reservation, gave us a mini-tour of the place, and showed us to our rooms.

The room was neat and clean, and the bathroom was in order. I usually rate a place by the quality of the bathroom, and I had no complaints there.

Our room had two double beds, a microwave, and a refrigerator (our refrigerator would not start up, but we called Harry and he had it kicking in no time). There was also an air conditioning unit and a TV with some nice channels. It had the sci-fi channel - and that was all I needed.

I would say it could take around 7 to 12 minutes to get to the main shopping area - depending on how fast you walk. We would usually leave early and get breakfast in the town. Unfortunately, we found out on our last morning at Miller’s Manor that it was the biggest mistake we ever made.

You see, we took the in-house breakfast and boy was it great. My fiancé especially loved the French toast with the coconut The OJ for me was delicious. I was so sorry I did not take breakfast there for my entire stay - but next time for sure.

Our only complaint was there was someone in a room close to or next to ours that had the television so loud that it could have awakened the dead.

Also, the only addition I would ask for in my room would be a little rug or carpet.

All in all, it was a nice little place to stay, and I would certainly stay here again due in part to the hospitality of Marj, Harry, Dan and Colleen, a great bunch of folks.

I almost forgot the cats! If you are a cat lover, there are some lovely felines that grace the property.

Our stay at Miller Manor with Harry and Marj was outstanding.

The atmosphere was very warm, relaxed and inviting. It was especially enjoyable sitting on our own private deck each morning and evening. It was overlooking the harbor of Charlotte Amlie, and we enjoyed watching the sunrise or sunset while the busy cruise ships arrived and departed. What a place to sit and plan the day ahead, or reminisce of the day past.

The meals were wonderful, thanks to Marj, Shay, and Clarrisa’s hard work. We had so much fun with other guests as well. It felt like we were leaving family behind when it came time to depart. We dream of returning some day.

The people and view at the Miller Manor made our trip. Brent and Mary were great hosts, too.

I highly recommend this lodging place for a real USVI time.

5.0 stars This is the best place found in the USVI! Visited: April 2004

We're a family of four (children aged 18 and 11) who stayed for a week at Miller Manor in April.

This was definitely the place to stay for a home away from home, great atmosphere, a brilliant view, the best (and inexpensive!) homecooked dinner, and the best advice. It was also close to downtown Charlotte Amalie, and we really got the feeling of being heartly welcomed.

We had a newly restored, lovely room that fitted us all - one wall built of old Danish bricks which had been used as ballast on the ships in old times Danish West India.

We stayed here over Easter, and will never forget the hilarious Easter egg hunt that Mary arranged for the residents. Besides, nothing can come up to the great feeling when sitting at their large porch in the evenings, having a lazy chat, a drink and watching the full moon rise. This was really something - thanks to Mary and Brent who ran the place.

Miller Manor is perfect! Everything from the staff to the ambiance is top notch. It is a beautiful and interesting place to stay. If the pleasant atmosphere and the friendly folks don't charm you, the blue waters of the breathtaking view, antique furniture pieces and crisp colorful walls will.

This guest house is just steps away from the shops and sights that are part of St. Thomas' lure. At this price range, it would be very difficult to find such a well placed and charming property.

The hotel is open year round and offers even greater value during off-season.

Beautifully situated overlooking the bay, this guest house cascades down the hillside toward the sea. It's perfect for whiling away an afternoon or balmy evening.

The managers, Brent and his wife, Mary, are gracious, informal and loads of fun.

Be sure to have one of Mary's tasty dinners on the veranda with its unbeatable combination of quaint decor, polished service and warm welcome that only a family-owned establishment can offer.

The structure of the building is unique and the landscaping is so fresh and beautiful.

"Architecture, of all the arts, is the one which acts the most slowly, but the most surely, on the soul." --Ernest Dimnet,1932

I will forever remember Miller Manor fondly. I'll definitely return someday!

5.0 stars Miller Manor is a gem! I am looking forward to returning again. Visited: April 2004

This guest house absolutely exceeded my expectations. After visiting St. Thomas for the first time, I know that by staying at Miller Manor, I made the best choice. The rooms were great - recently remodeled.

I can't say enough about the staff. Brent and Mary, who ran the guest house, were the most accommodating and kindhearted folks. I understand that they took over in the summer of 2003 and that many changes have been made for the better.

Mary's cooking was wonderful (not to mention the best bargain!). We had breakfast daily for around $5 and dinner ranged from $7-$12. Steven, the man who helped Brent and Mary, was one of the greatest people when it comes to making you feel welcome.

Overall, I think Miller Manor is a hidden gem on St. Thomas. I promise, you won't be disappointed if you stay here. Afterall, it has the greatest view of the harbor - no comparision elsewhere.

If you're looking for a nice place, good food, clean accommodations, and the best value for your money, it's Miller Manor - bar none. I can't wait to return again (and I most certainly plan to later this year.) Miller Manor rates an A+++.

This was the second year that we've been to Miller Manor in March. Last year was good, but this year was even better.

Quite a few improvements have been made in the past year and the other guests were delightful. The meals (breakfast and dinner) cooked by Mary were excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful.

It was a great way to spend a vacation and we'll be back for our third year in 2005.

I wasn't here when Francis was, but I do know the management has had a major overhaul. The married couple who manage now (Brent and Mary) are the most accommodating people I've met on the island.

Miller Manor is simply a laid back place with a sweet view of the harbor. Mary makes breakfast and dinner for anyone who is hungry.

The bottom line is - if you come to St. Thomas with any other expectation than having a slow, relaxed pace, you need not come to the islands. Why else would you go on vacation?

1.0 stars It's definitely cheap. Visited: June 2001

(Shawna, sounds like a local to me, be sure to see the next positive one below....)

When Mrs. Miller owned this lovely old Bed & Breakfast, it was one of the finest in St. Thomas. Now that it has new owners, it seems that the place has declined.

While it still carries its old world charm, the problems with the management and staff are often an inconvenience. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay, this is definitely the place on St. Thomas.
