It was more than we expected! Visited: March 2007

We stayed at Pavilions and Pools for a week the end of March, and we had such a good time we did not want to leave.

The staff, George especially, was great. The tamales at Karl's were awesome, too.

Sapphire Beach was a short walk down a path out the back gate of the property. Also, the ferry to St. John was close so we spend a day in St. John.

Our Villa, 122, was perfect. It had an open, beachy feel. It offered lots of privacy where we were comfortable using our "private" pool.

The villas are privately owned, and our last evening one of the owners was there and actually gave us a ride to "Blue Moon Cafe", which we recommend for a nice dinner by the beach.

We are thinking of coming back in June, we loved it so much.

We stayed at Pavilions and Pools Hotel, and had our own lovely villa and private pool just a short walk away from beautiful Sapphire Beach!

The staff was attentive to our every need, and Karl served up great Cajun/Creole entrees at The Fish Pond Café.

Pavilions and Pools was so close to all the fun in Red Hook - it was a wonderful place to stay while on St. Thomas.

We absolutely loved our room. The pool was fantastic. We also enjoyed the privacy of our own pool.

We really didn't want to venture out, but forced ourselves. The room itself was very nice. Here, guests have the option of eating in the room, or there is a little restaurant located on the premises. They had great tamales!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated the information on the local safari taxis - instead of paying outlandish prices for a taxi.

There was access to the beach within walking distance, but with the pool right there we never made it there.

We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again if we venture back to St. Thomas. We would absolutely recommend this hotel!

Thirty seven years ago, we were here at Pavilions and Pools for our honeymoon. It was great then - as it is now!

The people here are delightful, and the food is great.

We enjoyed each and every day we were here, and we definitely plan to come back again.

It's so beautiful here - and hard to leave! Visited: October 2006

We honeymooned at Pavilions and Pools in 1976, and returned to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We were a little apprehensive, wondering if it would stand up to to great memories we had. Pavilions and Pools not only stood up to those memories - but exceeded them as well.

We were greeted by friendly staff, and we enjoyed the beautiful pool and villa with fantastic views. We now have wonderful new memories of St. Thomas and Pavilions and Pools.

We'll be back!

This was an unforgettable honeymmon trip and experience. We felt very comfortable during our stay. George, Mack, Roa, Karl and Katherine were all terrific.

After going out on trips to St. John and the BVI, it was great to come back to the villa and lounge in our own pool. We will definitely come back!

Pavilions and Pools is nice and private. Visited: July 2006

My wife and I stayed here for two nights, and it was very nice for having privacy with a pool where you can play Adam and Eve (sans fig leaf).

While we did enjoy our stay overall, we would not return soon, simply because there is more to vacationing. We enjoy seeing the local area and sights. We do, however, recommend this resort for honeymooners and those celebrating special anniversaries or birthdays.

The cold continental breakfast (included) was fine for us, others may want to supplement it by using their kitchen for hot items. A limited menu dinner menu was available part of the week, but we chose to eat in Red Hook and nearby.

Lunch was on our own with nothing on site. There was a fairly well stocked market in Red Hook where we could buy things to eat in the villa. To get to town, you could use a rental car or take a taxi. Taxi fares were per person, $4 into Red Hook, with tip $5 (double this if you both go). Public jitneys were cheaper, but meant standing on the road and no air conditioning.

Delivery service was available from various Red Hook restaurants and fast food/delis for $7.50 plus tip. We did one sit down lunch at Molly Malone’s, and it was nice (but pricy) as was all food was in St. Thomas. While in town, we got deli subs from a nice deli, wrapped in foil and saran wrap. They stayed fresh until the next day when we did not have to go out for lunch. The two, round trip, taxi fares covered both purposes.

We had two nice suppers at Off Da Hook and Bonnie’s on the Sea. Off Da Hook was very nice, featuring locally caught fresh fish. Bonnie’s was given awards according to the guide books. It was nice, but we did not find it to be that special. We found that Red Hood was a secondary gourmet restaurant location with many homes, villas, timeshares, condos, etc. nearby so customers are available to support these places.

Your accommodation is really a villa, and they are now privately owned. Our unit #116 was noted by those who were part of a group as being the best of those villas this group was put up in. And we definitely were pleased we had taken the larger unit and found that this pool had steps which made getting in and out much easier.

There was a desk, and our questions got prompt attention. A few snacks and laundry supplies were all that were sold on site. The desk staff was helpful and would give us area information and suggestions.

We're on our honeymoon, and this is our first time in the Caribbean. It was suggested we stay at one of the big hotels, but we decided Pavilions and Pools sounded like a better match for us.

The villa was exquisite, our pool was sparkling, and you can't beat the privacy. The staff treated us as if they had known us forever, making it feel like home.

Also, be sure to check out Karl's restaurant on Dungeness Crab night - it's the Best dinner on the island!

When we come back, we'll be sure to stay here again - and tell all our friends and family about the amazing experience we've had here!

I just want to let you know what a wonderful time my husband and I had, and how much we loved Pavilions and Pools.

All the staff in the office were very helpful. We also loved the Fish Pond Café. Karl and Catherine were so, so friendly, and what a great cook that Karl was! We had so much fun in the evenings with them.

Our villa was just wonderful. The garden shower was awesome. I loved the private deck and pool. We were here for our 20th anniversary, and the privacy of our villa was just perfect. Everything was very clean and beautiful.

Thanks again. I will definitely recommend Pavilions and Pools to others. We will be back.

We spent the week at Pavilions and Pools. We spent days at the sites, late afternoons by our private pool...what memories we'll take back.

The proximity to Red Hook was key, as we spent a lot of time in St. John and finished the week with a trip to the Virgin Gorda Baths. This is a must see!

This was an unexpected surprise. Visited: April 2006

We came during Carnival - there were no rooms to be had. We'd never really noticed this place passing by. It was the only room we could find, so we weren't expecting much.

To our surprise, it was really a great place! It was clean and roomy, and was a quick walk to Sapphire Beach -- our favorite.

We will go back.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Pavilions and Pools. The courtesy and kindness the staff had shown made for a very enjoyable week and pleasurable stay.

The unique and private setup the hotel offers is well suited to couples who want to reconnect with their relationships. I will recommend this hotel to friends.

This was the perfect secluded honeymoon site. Visited: July 2005

We just got back from our honeymoon in St. Thomas, and would highly recommend Pavilions and Pools. It was private, but still close to the beach (Sapphire Resort) and to all the attractions (shopping in town or Havensight Mall, Atlantis Submarine, Sunset Sail, Paradise Point/Air Tram, etc).

We preferred to use the local taxis ($2 per person, one way) as our means of getting around. We really got to see the island of St. Thomas and how the people live.

The condo was just wonderful. It was air conditioned and clean, and the pool was "heaven." After being out all day in the heat, it was so relaxing to come "home" and have a pool to ourselves - very, very private! I also loved the "outside shower" which wasn't really outside, but felt like it was. You still had two bathroom doors if you needed privacy, but it was like a mini-sauna.

Mack was the perfect host, anytime we needed anything he was right there helping us out. Breakfast in the morning consisted of only bagels, muffins, or cereal, but it was fine for us until lunchtime.

If we ever return to St. Thomas, we would definitely book Pavilions and Pools again.
