I have traveled the Caribbean extensively, but have returned to the Sand Castle every year for the past ten years...because it absolutely fills my need for a fabulous beach, great company and total "R & R".
If you love to be in the water and if you love the beach, this is the place to go. On top of that, the Sand Castle offers very well equipped accommodations, good food and great hospitality and it's "right on the beach" (I've stayed other places where I had to travel to be at the beach - and it just doesn't work for me).
At 6:00 pm hotel guests gather for cocktails and sunset....every night. I look forward to my next visit. Just writing this review makes me want to leave tomorrow! |

Sheryl and Simone were the best hosts ever! Visited: July 2002 |

Besides having the best host in the island, the place was perfectly situated by the best beach in St. Croix, where you can enjoy watching the calm Caribbean waves during the day and stare at the stars at night while swimming in the outdoor pool. Sheryl and Simone made me feel at home, I'm definitely coming back.
Also, for scuba divers, the Scuba Shack Dive Shop is the one! Everyone was so nice and accommodating. You will definitely see a seahorse if you haven't yet, just ask Dee. |

What a dream place to be!
You can walk out of your room and onto a beautiful beach. The water is perfect for snorkling or swimming.
It is one of the few places where you will make lifetime friends with the other guests. |

My boyfriend and I stayed here and were really pleased. As soon as we checked in, Irma, the receptionist told us that she upgraded our room to a studio room with a view of the beach at no extra cost. Jack, the owner was very helpful and gave us snorkeling gear to use.
The hotel is clean and nice and is located on the beach. Rooms are well maintained and the kitchenette is fully stocked. There are also two nice swimming pools. There isn't a restaurant or bar, but you can take a taxi for US $8 return to a nearby corner shop to purchase groceries. Most probably the front desk will call on Johnny to take you there. Be very specific on where you're going, as he may charge you US $20 to go to a very large grocery (like a warehouse with every imaginable thing that you won't need for a holiday), when you can simply drive 3 minutes to a small grocery and get everything you need; you can even walk if you're up for it. We would definitely recommend this place if you are in Fredricksted.

The Sand Castle is one of the most relaxing and friendly hotels you will ever enjoy.
The staff go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable.
The location cannot be beat. It is on the most beautiful and quiet beach on the island, yet just a short hop to town.
Sunsets are spectacular. Also, the rooms are clean, spacious, well stocked and very comfortable.
This was my second trip to Sand Castle...and I am looking forward to returning! |

One of the most awesome vacations I've ever taken. Visited: June 2000 |

I stayed here with eight friends of mine in the two private villas. From our arrival to our departure, the attention we were given was the best. The owner and his staff made sure that our stay with them was one to always remember. A free bottle of Cruzan Rum with soft drinks was waiting for us in each room, and we had six rooms reserved! Every member of the staff knew our names, and treated us to one entire week of extreme relaxation and fun; it was one of the best times of my life! I cannot wait to go back. |

This was probably the most relaxed vacation I have ever had. I was looking for a destination to vacation alone and chill-out. I found it at the Sandcastle.
I wanted to get away and mellow out and found myself making friends with many of the other guests. The property’s proprietors and their wonderful staff were always accommodating and made me feel at home. They were very “service-oriented”.
My room was clean, and the housekeeping was excellent. The property had two well-kept pools.
My room was equipped with a full kitchen, but I still I ate one lunch and one dinner at the restaurant and the meals were delicious. Every morning I walked about fifty steps to the restaurant for my coffee and sat facing the ocean.
The hotel beach was superb, and there was very nice snorkeling there as well.
I do recommend renting a car to see the island and the Buck Island National Park tour. I also recommend finding your way to Sandy Point Beach whith is a ten-minute drive or long walk from the hotel.
If you like seclusion, sand, and waves - this beach is the best!
