Sugar Beach Condo Resort

A 500-foot sandy beach is the main event at this attractive low-rise condominium complex on St. Croix's north shore, but if the briny deep isn't for you, a pool sits adjacent to the ruins of an old sugar mill. Two tennis courts tempt the active set.

Just 10 minutes from downtown Christiansted, the 42-units at this resort all feature patios or balconies overlooking the beach. Take your pick of a studio, or a one, two or three or four- bedroom unit, the perfect solution for large families or friends vacationing together. Each unit comes with a television, air-conditioning and ceiling fans. Some have VCRs.

Tropical foliage surrounds the white stucco buildings. Inside, the tropical ambience repeats itself with tile floors, rattan furniture and pastel prints. The fully-equipped kitchens make cooking a breeze. Shop at the nearby Pueblo Supermarket for a full selection of groceries.

Sugar Beach sits among a string of similar properties, making it easy to stroll from one to another for a change of scenery. It's located near a public housing project, but tight security at all the properties means no problems for vacationers. Walking off the property at night is not a good idea. A rental car gives you the flexibility to zip into Christiansted or to explore the rest of this rolling island.
