It was horrible. I suggest you stay far away! Visited: October 2008

My boyfriend and I stayed here one night a few weeks ago. We were supposed to stay eight days, but checked out as soon as we could.

The office was closed when we arrived, or we would have just left immediately. The beach was not pretty (compared to the gorgeous beaches around the island). Also, the decor looked old and outdated, and there were stains on our sheets and curtains.

When we asked to check out, no one even asked us why we were leaving seven days early! Instead, while I was trying to pay for the one night, they went behind my back and charged my debit card for three nights stay.

My travel agent called the next morning, and after two days of talking to them, convinced them to give me one nights credit on my debit card. They still never asked why we checked out. Apparently they don't care to better their motel.

I was very unhappy with this place, the location, the beach, and the very dishonest and uncaring staff. I will never visit Sugar Beach again, and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The east end of the island is beautiful, and the beaches are amazing. It's paradise! Don't settle for this place, though, check around.

It's in a good location with a nice white sand beach. Visited: January 2007

The location was good. It was a relaxing time for family rest and relaxation.

Our three-bedroom unit was very nice and well equipped. Both units were very clean and insect-free.

the pool area was nice, and the beach was reguarly raked and maintained.

As with probably any location on the island, a rental car is strongly recommended.

One drawback to this resort was security related. Safes were not furnished. As we learned the hard way, keep all valuables/money on your person or locked at all times. Even if you are only a few feet away, do notleave a door unlocked even for a minute!

After our initial loss several days later, our entire group left for lunch with a member of the cleaning staff alone in the studio unit.

When we returned from lunch in Christiansted, approximately two hours later, we found the front door of this unit had been left ajar and unlocked when the cleaning person departed. We were back in the unit when she returned carrying clean linens. It is unknown how long she had left the unit unlocked but, when reported to the office, naturally the individual responsible denied leaving the unit unsecured.

Overall, Sugar Beach would still get my recommendation for anyone wanting to stay in a quiet and clean resort with a white sand beach only yards away.

Sugar Beach offers a relaxing atmosphere with a great pool! Visited: March 2006

When we arrived at Sugar Beach, we were amazed at the size of our condo. With a fully-equipped kitchen, excellent home theatre and washer/dryer, it had everything we could possibly have asked for and more! Then we discovered the pool, complete with built-in tables, grills for barbecuing and sugar mill ruins. There were never more than two other people in the pool, which was nice. Also, it was open 24 hours so a midnight dip wasn't out of the question!

Although there was no restaurant at Sugar Beach, Breezes was a one-minute walk down the beach. If you're looking for something more upscale, we highly recommend Savant. They serve a fusion of Asian, American and Caribbean cuisine. Ask to sit outside on the lovely candlelit patio- we did and it was the most romantic dinner we've ever had!

Our trip to St. Croix couldn't have been any better! Sugar Beach was a great location- we can't wait to go back next year!

We had a very enjoyable stay, and would highly recommend Sugar Beach! Visited: March 2005

My family and I all enjoyed our stay at the Sugar Beach condominiums on St. Croix.

The location was fine, just a few minutes outside Christiansted. This proved convenient for our frequent trips there. The two-bedroom condo was more than spacious for our three children, and actually included a bonus "loft" bedroom.

The view from our back "porch" was just spectacular, and the fact that every unit faced the beach was great. We enjoyed the most refreshing sea breezes throughout our stay.

The condo was clean and nice enough. The pool area and tennis courts were very nice and the "meet and greet" that was hosted on Thursday evenings made us feel most welcome. The staff (Francis, Shay, Ching-Ching and Steve) were also all very nice and accommodating.

The location was in a working class neighborhood and was not isolated as some resorts were. We felt very comfortable going out for errands and things.

What could I even think to complain about ? The very nice "Sugar Beach" had a grassy bottom as you enter the water; that might not be everyone's favorite, but the water was still pristine.

Would we stay here again? In a heartbeat! I would highly recommend Sugar Beach for a comfortable, affordable, efficiency-type stay. Kudos to Sugar Beach!

This is a fantastic place to stay in St. Croix. Visited: March 2005

We would highly recommend staying in The Theatre on the Beach at Sugar Beach Condo Resort .

The condo was spacious and was equipped with everything, including beach towels, coolers and a washer and dryer. It was so peaceful just sitting on the balcony, listening to the waves and watching the world go by!

If you're considering a vacation to St. Croix, don't forget to include the Theatre on the Beach as a possible venue for your stay!

A nice resort in a great location on a great beach. Visited: June 2003

We stayed at the Sugar Beach Resort for four wonderful days. The weather was so great - we never even turned on the air conditioning - just opened all the windows and enjoyed the totally great breezes!

Sandy Beach was lovely to walk on, and there was a great restaurant (with fab drinks) just a one-minute walk away. We went into Christianstad one night ($10 taxi each way) - and ate at Baccu's - it was wonderful.

They had a great boardwalk, too. The best part was just sitting on the balcony in the evenings reading and watching the palm trees sway. (I want to go back just reading this!)

This was simply the best! Visited: May 2003

We were married at Sugar Beach Condo Resort on May 31, 2003. I couldn't have picked a better place if I had tried.

We had 16 people traveling with us and had four units rented. All of the units were simple yet elegant. The beach was beautiful and never crowded. Everyone here was more than helpful from the staff to the other unit owners.

The resort was right in the middle of everything. It was not too far from anywhere. It was simply the best vacation I have ever been on.

Beautiful condo with an incredible view Visited: January 2001

We stayed (along with many others from a No Va swim team) in a 2 BR/loft/3BR condo for 4 nights at Sugar Beach.

All of the condos were situated oceanfront, ours was beautifully furnished. It had a very nice pool and an accommodating concierge. The beach was kind of yucky with sea grass, but we loved lounging around under a palm tree.

There wasn't a restaurant on site, but there was a beachfront walkway to one next door, Breezes. The condos were close to a grocery store and fast food. It was a short cab ride to Christiansted.

I would definitely stay here again.
