The staff here was wonderful. Visited: April 2007 Posted by newyorkvisitors We were in St. Croix for only a few days, but the people at the Caravelle Hotel made it a very special time. Our room had a great view, and the location was perfect for us. We went to Buck Island with Big Beard. It was a great day, and we reccomend it highly. The trip left from the boardwalk right in front of the hotel. We also went on a jeep tour with Tan Tan Tours, it was a real adventure and lots of fun. This was a very special place. Visited: May 2004 Posted by jasonreno This hotel was a wonderful surprise, I was not expecting such a great experience. The view from my room was amazing and the food at Rumrunners (just below my room) was way above what you find at most hotel restaurants. Also, the staff of the hotel was so friendly that within hours of being here I felt at home. A great location, with nice rooms and friendly staff! Visited: February 2003 Posted by mbromani My husband and I just returned from three nights at Hotel Caravelle and we loved it! The location was perfect since it was near so many restaurants and shops, as well as the seaplane and ferries. The gotostcroix.com web cam was also right next to the hotel, and we had a lot of fun with that. Our third floor oceanfront room was wonderful. It had a cathedral ceiling, great tropical coloring, and a bathroom that was super clean and bigger than I expected. Our room felt like it was only one step away from the water! Our sliding door-type windows opened up for a wonderful cool breeze. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming-perhaps the most I have ever experienced! Also, the hotel had many nice touches which added to our experience (e.g., complimentary water jugs in the room and free internet access). Relaxing and enjoyable Visited: July 2001 Posted by pharris We have just returned from an enjoyable 12 days at the Hotel Caravelle and would recommend it to anyone who would like to stay in town, explore the area, and take trips to other parts of the island. The best place we found to eat real local food was at Kim's Restaurant at 45 King St, about 4 blocks from the Caravelle. Joseph at the hotel told us about it when we asked him for local eating places; the food and the price was right if you really want what the locals eat! The Cay was a relaxing place to eat and swim ($3 roundtrip, 1 min across the harbor) and the hotel pool was clean and private. The view of the harbor was magnificent and the rooms were clean, comfy, and pretty. Great Location Visited: August 2000 Posted by ctheworld1 My wife and myself stayed here for three days before we left for another island. We happened to be here for a near miss hurricane so from our boarded windows we couldn't see much but heard alot! The property itself has a great location. Near shops near restaurants (it has its own also). Public transportation is near by as well. Rooms are good and the hotel has a pool which is nice also. It is a good value for the money. There is no beach here so you do have to go elsewhere for a beach, but that can be as close as a 3 minute ferry ride (3 or 4 bucks) from the docks. Did you find this helpful? A great place to stay in Christiansted Posted by ilbeisbol My husband and I felt immediately "at home" when we arrived at the Hotel Caravelle for a recent 5-day stay here. The staff were so friendly and they set the comfortable tone for this waterfront hotel. The location was great with numerous restaurants, quaint shops, and watersports activities within walking distance. Rum Runners, the hotel restaurant, served an excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also had happy hour from 4-6 pm. The hotel had a lovely pool and deck area overlooking the harbor which was a perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful sunset. Our room had a great view, was very comfortable and was decorated nicely with tropical print bedspreads and window treatments. We did rent a car for a few days and enjoyed exploring the island. We found the Hotel Caravelle to be a great home base as it had an enclosed parking lot.
