Estate Concordia is highly recommended if you like peace, quiet, and nature. Visited: July 2006 Posted by ccasebolt This visit was our third to Estate Concordia (each during July). The accommodations are not as fancy as some of the villas on the island, but we have found them to be very comfortable and an excellent value for the cost. We stayed in a large loft unit this time, which was very nice. The kitchen was well equipped with just about anything we would need to prepare meals - fridge, stove, and dishwasher are full-sized. A coffee maker, microwave, and a blender were also provided. The beds were comfortable; both bathrooms were good-sized, each with a large shower. There was no air conditioning, but this was never a problem, or even noticeable to us for that matter - even in July. The ceiling fans and the constant breeze were enough to keep the unit cool and comfortable day and night. The grounds were naturally beautiful! A series of raised walkways took guests through a canopy of foliage which was virtually undisturbed. Hermit crabs, anole lizards, and a variety of birds inhabited the surrounding trees and brush. Far and away, the best feature of the these units was the incredible view over Salt Pond and Drunk Bays. This was what we looked forward to and enjoyed most about staying here. The units had large balconies, many with this gorgeous view. If you're considering a stay here, it is definitely worth requesting a unit with a full view. Accompanying the view is the constant sound of the surf from Drunk Bay which makes for perfect peaceful sleeping. The staff deserves special thanks from us this trip. Our luggage was lost during the flight down, so we were required to wait for a call from the airline to let us know which ferry to meet in Cruz Bay to retrieve it. I had no cell coverage on the Coral Bay side of the island, so the airline would have to call the Concordia's office. The receptionist went out of her way to call the airline for status, and then to contact us with any new information about our luggage. This freed us to do as we pleased and not have to stay there and wait to hear from the airline. The extra effort on her part reduced our stress and was very much appreciated! Away from it all with million-dollar views. Visited: November 2000 Posted by w57chev As two couples visiting Estate Concordia, we had mixed reviews. The loft duplex was a fantastic place to stay, without AC, but had natural breezes. After the couple in the partial ocean view room got over the fact that the room had no AC they experienced problems with insects and did not have any breezes. The grounds are well tended, the staff was very friendly, and information is well distributed. The value is very good, and we found the accommodations to be very acceptable. The alternatives on this island make this an excellent value, with a definite million-dollar view. Be prepared to be in a structured, yet natural environment.
