I listened to Arlene's review, and I was glad I did. Also, amazingly, we met her at the pool bar.
When it comes to meeting good people and having fun, Tamarind Reef gets five stars. The people were great, the view was great, the food was good, and the prices were fantastic.
We will go back and stay here again - most definitely. |

Arlene's review from this web site convinced us to stay here. We split our trip to two places, the Buccaneer and Tamarind Reef.
Amazingly, we met Arlene at Tamarind Reef's pool bar. Everyone got a kick out of it.

We've been coiming to St. Croix since 1975. We have stayed at the Bucaneer (which has gotten a bit pricy for us!), and also Caravelle, Divi, and Colony Cove!
We have found our home away from home at this small hotel. They have a great beach bar and great staff. And we'll be back twice in next six months! |

This is our second year at the Tamarind Reef and we will be back next year.
The place is wonderful. We have spent at least 15 vacations on St. Croix and hope to have many more. The people are great, the bar and the pool are wonderful, and the housekeeping staff could not be nicer. Thanks for everything! |

I found pure relaxation! Visited: December 2002 |

I've stayed at Tamarind eight times since October 1999. It's the perfect place for a laid-back escape to St. Croix!
They have large, clean rooms, friendly staff at The Deep End, complimentary snorkel gear and kayaks, friendly local ex-pats from the adjacent Marina and East End. It is good for older children, too.
Hesitate only if you'll accept nothing less than a five-star experience! |

I'm from St. Croix, and this is where I stay when I return. Visited: June 2002 |

I lived full time on St. Croix for 19 years. When I come to visit with my family, this is where everyone wants to be!
Even when we have large groups on island, we always spend part of each afternoon at the beach hanging out. It is perfect for everyone from very small kids to the seniors (and everyone in between). Also, Jerry, at the watersports hut, is one of a kind!
This is a great place to stay! In addition, I've never had a problem with ants in the many years I've been coming here. Those tourists who mentioned that must have left something very enticing out for the ants to get in their room! |

This is a great deal if you're looking for a room and a place to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. With the pool and the four-star resturant, you don't need to go anywhere else. |

Avoid the Tamarind Reef Hotel. Visited: December 1969 |

Based upon our 1+ week stay at the Tamarind Reef we would not recommend this hotel. The cleanliness of the room was well below standard; we experienced days without any hot water and the room was full of ants! When we complained about the ants, the staff gave us a can of ant spray, they never offered to move us to another room, etc. After numerous emails and attempted calls to the hotel after our visit, they have not returned any emails or offered any resolution to our problems that we experienced.
The only highlights to this hotel were the beautiful scenic views and the courteous staff at the pool and bar. |

Tamarind Reef A Good Bet for St. Croix Visited: December 1969 |

You'll like the Tamarind Reef Hotel for the following reasons:
*Amazing view of the ocean from the balcony; *Great location near Christiansted and the East End; *The Rooms are huge; *The Service: My wife and I were honeymooning there when Hurricane Lenny hit. Management made a lot of special arrangements for the guests. We were better off than many local inhabitants! |
