Never, ever again will we stay here. Visited: August 2008 |

One half of our volleyball group stayed here this past weekend. Instead of a relaxing stay, they were robbed, and harassed by the staff of this hotel.
Upwards of $1200 worth of iPods, cameras, cash, clothing, and other electronics were stolen out of the room, which, conveniently was on the top floor (and had no sign of forced entry). No other rooms were touched.
Instead of offering help with this disturbing matter, the owners simply said "sorry" and then proceeded to accuse the men of making false statements.
One employee even called another bed and breakfast owner (who happened to be hosting the other half of the group and is a personal friend), and made rude and defamatory remarks towards our entire group of travelers. He even went so far as to accuse us of breaking into the honor bar, which we never even saw.
Although they claim 'locked' entry ways and 'barbed wire', these were nowhere to be found. No discount was offered, and the men had already paid the bill in full.
Leaving this beautiful island with a bad taste in our mouths wasn't in our travel plans. We will come back to St. Thomas, but will never stay at this unprofessionally run hotel again. |

It's relaxing, with an "at home" feel. Visited: July 2008 |

We loved our stay here - after we managed our luggage up the steps. Neither the taxi nor the managers would help.
We loved the breakfast and the views! The managers were warm and friendly. We just hopped the locals', open-air buses for $1 over the the beaches (taxis were $20).
We are returning to this place. It's not fancy, but certainly laid back. The pool and area was not new, but immaculate! |

We've seen improvements over the years. Visited: May 2008 |

We stayed here 30 years ago for our honeymoon when the hotel had wood rooms. Thirty years later, we've seen a lot of improvements.
The breakfast was excellent, and we felt the atmosphere we would feel at home
Its location was perfect for exploring the rest of the island. Martha and Sandy were very helpful in giving us tips as to what to do and see.
In addition, the rooms were simple, but very clean. The pool was very clean and nice, and the restaurant next door was pricey - but great.
This was a quiet, low key and relaxing place to stay in the heart of the old city. It was minutes from museums, restaurants, and shops.
Molly and Cheryl created an almost-home atmosphere. |

Stay here if you want to have an authentic Caribbean experience. Our only complaint was that the mattress was quite uncomfortable, but we would still definitely stay here again! |

Calleon House was funky and convenient. Visited: April 2005 |

We enjoyed our stay!
The rooms were clean and well maintained. This property was uphill from town and had many stairs of its own. If you don't mind walking and stairs, it's just fine.
Also, the pool was very clean and nice, and the restaurant next door was spendy - but great. |

This was a quiet, low key and relaxing place to stay in the heart of the old city, minutes from museums, restaurants and shops.
The room was simple, but clean and quiet with breakfast on the terrace overlooking the bay. Martha and Sandy were great hosts, helpful with local information and advice on life in paradise!
It was difficult to leave - a "home away from home". |

Experience St. Thomas, not your hotel. Visited: September 2003 |

This bed and breakfast is clean and modest. It not only offers the minimalist of needs, but offers a genuine experience of St. Thomas.
This B and B is best if you are a walker. All within walking distance are the taxis, emancipation park, historic downtown, St. John Ferry, main street, tourist shops, post office, and local tastes. Well secluded, this B and B is convienent to the tourist shops/traps. You do have to take taxis to the beaches.
There is also a great view of downtown and you always have a chance to interact with the local people and are able to avoid the incoming cruise ship tourists.
Sandy and Martha are always willing to offer help and opinions of what to see and do. |

Galleon House was a cozy bed and breakfast. Visited: June 2003 |

When I first showed up, I found the room not up to the standards I am used to. But after the first day, the great staff made me feel at home, with a home cooked breakfast every morning, and their sincere desire to make my stay the best it could possibly be.
You have to keep in mind that it's only a bed and breakfast and not a five-star hotel. Other than that, I would recommend it. |

Molly and Cheryl created an almost-home atmosphere. I was greeted graciously and they both had pity on me for accidentally climbing the famous 99 steps thinking that it would lead to The Galleon House! So don't make that mistake! Molly was so kind she even asked a girlfriend of mine to come for breakfast and she was not a guest of the B&B!
I recommend The Galleon House to anyone who is looking for a friendly atmosphere, warm hospitality and a decent breakfast. |

I'd look elsewhere Visited: February 2001 |

Wish I could recommend this for price, view, restaurant proximity, but the poor condition of the property and odd attitude of the staff that ranged from initial friendliness to downright rudeness caused me to go elsewhere. |

We have been in the hospitality business for 20 years. It's all about what Ian, Molly & Dolly offer....wonderful...friendly service. Sure there are a few steps..but the hospitality and great views are worth the hike. Clean rooms...perfect location. We have stayed at the Ritz for $475 a night and Galleon House is a much better value...twice the value considering the great people. |
