Jungle Stone Villa - St. John, USVI

Jungle Stone Villa is a 5 BR/6 bath ultra luxury Caribbean Villa on St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, overlooking some of the most majestic and breathtaking views anywhere in the world. Completely surrounded by the Virgin Islands National Park, the Jungle Stone enclave is secluded, private, and luxuriously elegant in every detail.

Perched hillside in the exclusive Catherineberg neighborhood, Jungle Stone overlooks St. John's famous and spectacular North Shore beaches of Cinnamon Bay, Peter Bay, Maho Bay, and Francis Bay, and is surrounded by natural tropical jungles, and lush tropical gardens.

Jungle Stone offers a spacious Great Room with peaked beamed ceilings of exposed stained wooden shakes and rafters, and with polished teak floors. There is a large sitting area with a Bang & Olufsen sound system and a 53"� plasma TV, comfortable sofas, chairs and chaise lounges. A beautiful round dining table seats 10 easily. Custom painted floor cloths set off the furnishings as does the custom mahogany hutch with wet bar, ice maker, mini-fridge and wine cooler.

The chef's dream kitchen has slate floors, granite counters, mahogany cupboards and stainless gas appliances, along with every convenience a cook could imagine, including 2 dishwashers, ice-maker, a refrigerator and a separate freezer. Off the kitchen is a lovely deck, perfect for morning coffee or late night desserts, surrounded with tropic flowering shrubs, and leading to an herb garden and fruit orchard. There is also a dedicated barbecue balcony with a 53" Viking grill.

Jungle Stone has four air-conditioned luxurious bedroom suites, each different, each with its own West Indian character, and each with it's own private entry.

Climbing an exterior staircase to the very top of Jungle Stone, you'll enter the Orchid Suite, considered by the owners to be the master. This beautiful bedroom opens onto a large covered balcony that is perched above the surrounding jungle and beach. Sea turtles can be seen basking above the reef, and you can hear as well as see the surf breaking on Cinnamon Beach.

The king four poster bed is romantic, but the fabulous bath beckons, here there is a wooden Japanese Hinoki cedar bathtub for two, an al fresco shower, and an antique mahogany vanity with copper fixtures. The 20' peaked ceiling lends a tropical feel, along with the tropical hardwoods, teak floors, and bamboo window treatments.

On the east side of the house, you'll descend to the garden level to enter the Parrot Suite. This spacious bedroom has a maple faux-bamboo� king bed, a large sea-side balcony, and a surprising bathroom with an al fresco shower that looks into a private walled garden, yet with an ocean view. Also found on this fully air-conditioned garden level is the fitness room, a large laundry room and a bathroom for villa staff.

Climbing an outside staircase brings you to the Treehouse Suite perched among the tree tops as the name implies. Here you'll find a queen bed, a lofty peaked stained ceiling with beams, teak floors, and a sea-view balcony. There is a private niche with a day bed window seat which can provide for a young child, or an afternoon secret getaway spot. There is a delightful bathroom with a semi-alfresco shower.

The Blue Lagoon, on the main level off the breezeway, has an inviting king bed, a screened porch on the garden side, and an ocean-side balcony that leads out to the pool. The bathroom has a double porcelain pedestal sink and a semi-al fresco shower looking into the porch and jungle beyond. There is also a twin-size daybed providing a relaxing spot for an afternoon read, or for a young child.

In addition to the main villa, there is Pebble Cottage. This fabulous West Indies style cottage is comprised of a living room, full retro-style kitchen (both opening into a large screened porch looking into the jungle), and a king bedroom with its own porch. The bathroom opens onto that porch where a private, al fresco shower awaits.

Rental Note
Guests 1-10 can be any age. However, the 11th and 12th must be children under 10, and they sleep on twin-sized daybeds that are in the Tree House Suite and the Blue Lagoon Suite.
