The resort was fabulous! Marc and the staff were wonderful.
The views were incredible, and the beach was right outside my door. It was quiet and relaxing, and close to everything.
If you need more than that, add the gorgeous water, warm sun and a beach chair! I can't wait to go back. |

The Hibiscus is truly a boutique resort. The staff here made us feel like old friends. Also, they were great with our eight-year-old son.
Our room had a king and a double bed and a cathedral ceiling. It was also right on the beach.
The restaurant, Elizabeth's H20, was one of the best on the island - and the locals eat there.
It was a great week, and we plan to return. |

For our first vacation on St. Croix, we were looking for a hotel on the beach, with an ocean view from our room, where we could relax in a friendly, laid back atmosphere with a good restaurant and bar very close at hand. We found a gem: the Hibiscus Beach.
If you are looking for a huge, fancy resort with on-site tennis and golf, this is not the place. However, if you are looking for a friendly, laid back, intimate hotel with lovely guest rooms and grounds in a beautiful seaside location, you will love the Hibiscus Beach.
There were 35 guest rooms, all with ocean views, that were well-equipped, beautifully furnished, recently updated, and set in several separate two-story buildings nestled among the tall palms and private beach, within 100 feet of the sea. There also was a swimming pool.
The Hibiscus Beach staff was very friendly and helpful. The service was excellent, and the location of the resort was on a quiet part of St. Croix's north shore was just minutes from Christiansted.
A "welcome" rum punch, daily continental breakfast, snorkeling gear, and beach towels were also provided.
Within the Hibiscus property, and just 20 feet from the sea, was Elizabeth's H 2 O, a separately owned, open-air restaurant offering consistently excellent food (breakfast, lunch & dinner), a great bar, and delightful, attentive staff.
The Hibiscus Beach was everything we were looking for and much more! We recommend the Hibiscus Beach highly and look forward to returning. |

My best friend and I travel to St. Croix several times a year. We usually stay at my friend’s condo, but the condo was not available, so we had to look elsewhere.
Having grown up on the island, I ended up looking into the bigger, well known hotels. I then decided to call Hibiscus, because I had been to H2O (the hotel restaurant) on my last visit, and thought it would be neat to stay at a smaller boutique hotel with a great restaurant.
I called to check availability and rates. Lucinda (front desk) was so helpful and warm from the start, I booked immediately. When we arrived at Hibiscus, we were greeted by Rashema and Marc at the front desk. They were both professional and helpful. The staff here, really makes you feel like you are home away from home.
When we checked into our room, it was clean and well taken care of. We arrived a month after Hurricane Omar, and they had really taken care of clean-up of the property.
During our stay, we dined at the H2O restaurant, not because of the convenience, but because of the great staff and quality food. We also had the pleasure of meeting John, the owner of the hotel, and enjoyed his company and conversation.
I could go on forever about this experience! All and all, I highly recommend Hibiscus! If you want to experience true island charm, this is it! They have a lovely restaurant and are in a great location.

Get the suite or don't go. Visited: February 2008 |

They have a great restaurant, nice staff, and a fantastic location on the beach. It's a fair price for the suite, but not the other rooms.
Yea-boo: New help pushed us into two different rooms, and then we asked for the only suite and got it. The other rooms were poorly maintained, and the suite was just okay.
Yes, it's the islands, but clean and well-maintained are pretty easy criteria to meet. |

We had originally made reservations at another resort when we came onto the island, but we were very disappointed when we got there. After asking around, we checked out a few places to stay. When we came to the Hibiscus Beach Resort, thankfully they had rooms available for us for the rest of our stay and we didn’t have to search any further.
The staff was very understanding of our situation and was also very helpful. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and secure. Walking out on the patio of our room put us right up to the beach. There we could swim, snorkel or relax on one of the many beach chairs, or on the very relaxing hammocks suspended by the palm trees. There was also a pool to dip into that was very peaceful.
We ate at the resort's restaurant called The H2O several times during our stay and found the food to be first-rate. The restaurant seemed a little expensive, but not too expensive compared to prices from any other restaurants in Christiansted.
The Hibiscus was very a very peaceful place to stay and it wasn’t too far from the shops and eateries in town. I would definitely stay here again.

Hibiscus offers a great location, clean rooms, and simple living. Visited: June 2005 |

As others have noted, this hotel was on a very nice beach on the North Shore of the island.
The brand new owners were very friendly and helpful, as was the entire staff. The caretaker was particularly responsive and was a nice guy.
This was not a luxury hotel, but deserved five stars for being what it was- reasonably priced accommodations with no serious drawbacks (at least in our experience).
I would definitely return and really did not see anyplace I would have preferred to stay. |

We had a wonderful time visiting the Hibiscus. We did not stay here, but we visited the restaurant and bar well over six or more times during our sixteen-day stay.
John and Michelle, who are the owners, were so friendly. We truly gained new friends for life. The staff and bartenders were extremely kind. The food was exceptional, and we loved the view. I will have to say they have the best chef on the island. We truly loved our trip. |

I wish I never left. There were no crowds, no noise, and we slept to the sound of the ocean. Also, we had cocktails with the owner, who was very enjoyable. |

My daughter and I stayed here over the Columbus Day weekend. We absolutely loved this hotel. The pictures I found on various websites really did accurately reflect what the hotel looked like.
The rooms were spacious, with white tile floors and pink decor. The view from our balcony of the ocean was breathtaking, and we did not have an "oceanview" room. The staff couldn't have been more helpful.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Since it was a few miles from town though, next time I'd probably consider renting a car. I noticed there was a Budget car rental around the corner, so it might be possible to just do day rentals, if you didn't want the car the entire trip.
Our only disappointment was with St. Croix itself. Due to various island issues, tourism was way down. The cruise ships have even stopped coming. There were only three rooms rented at our hotel and the shop keepers and restaurants told us they were really suffering. It's a shame because St. Croix is really beautiful. |

One star short of five Visited: April 2001 |

The hotel grounds and rooms were maintained very well and the staff were very attentive. The staff attitudes were very high spirited. The food was the only thing that brought them to four stars, it was good, but standard.
All in all, it was an excellent trip due in part to the hospitality of staff and our comfort at the hotel. Excellent job. Would we recommend it? Absolutely. Would we go again? Yes. |

Quiet, secluded, but mediocre service and expensive Visited: January 2001 |

Stayed here 5 nights in January of 2001. Quiet, secluded beach with gorgeous fish and coral just off-shore (under-rated in guide books). Accommodation was basic and clean, but lacked some obvious basics (i.e. bar soap, service). It took five trips to the front desk to get a working mini-bar (refrigerator) and safe. Even then, the mini-bar wouldn't be cold until "tomorrow morning;" as a result, our coffee creamer had soured by day 3, and the milk by day 5.
Regarding service, the maids would leave things in the room (dust rags, cleaning solution), let the liquid soap go empty, and never replenished the bar soap after the initial (requested) supply. The front desk lacked helpfulness, instead of taking our used beach towels, we had to come around behind the desk and put them into the bin ourselves; it's a small thing, but represented their general attitude.
The restaurant was more of a dull beach-bar,no atmosphere at all, but the food was good on Bar-B-Que day (the only day we ate there).
Although its a "resort," they don't offer much in terms of service beyond what the condos offer (i.e. the front desk closes at midnight and no one is on-site overnight).
Nonetheless, its quiet, pretty, and secluded. But, for the price (almost $200/night) one could do better at other places. |
