The Red Hook area is a busy place with many of the conveniences of your hometown. There's several grocery stores - they're not supermarkets, however - lots of restaurants, and a good supply of nightlife. And it's the jumping off spot for St. John and it's V.I. National Park.

A stay at the Red Hook Mountain Apartments puts you within walking distance of all this activity, plus you can catch a taxi or the public Vitran bus to other points on the island. The bus isn't that reliable, so you may have to wait, but it gets you where you're going for a $1 ride. It's a great way to sightsee too.

The eight apartments are right across from the marina at American Yacht Harbor, so if you want to go sailing, diving or rent a powerboat, you'll only have to stroll across the street with your lunch in hand.

There's no beach nearby, but the posh East End hotels with their white sandy beaches are just a taxi ride away.
