Description:

Garden by the Sea Bed and Breakfast sits just a 10-minute walk from St. John's main town of Cruz Bay. Overlooking a small salt pond and the ocean, this cozy spot is surrounded by lush vegetation that gives it its name.

The three rooms have private entrances and private baths. Guests gather in the attractive common room to talk about their plans for the day or their St. John discoveries. There is no television, and the rooms do not have private telephones but there is one for guests' use in the common room. All rooms have AC and fans.

Its location means you do not need a rental car. Strolling around the Audubon Society-maintained pond, which attracts lots of birds, is pleasant. You can walk to Cruz Bay to catch a bus to points east or a taxi to the lovely North Shore Beaches. You can swim off a rocky beach located at nearby Frank Bay.

They serve things like pina colada French toast with bananas foster, eggs benedict, and fresh fruit smoothies for breakfast on the veranda. You'll enjoy excellent views along with your orange juice and the sound of swishing banana fronds.

All three rooms are AC and feature light-colored wood laminate floors, four poster rattan beds, and attractive wood furniture. The walls are painted in deep Caribbean colors that contrast with the white spreads and curtains. French doors open to a common deck on the two downstairs accommodations.

The two downstairs rooms have large bathrooms with tropical showers screened overhead to the sun and breezes. Plants surround the shower. The upper room, reached via a staircase, has its own small private deck, which makes it perfect for honeymooners. It has a conventional bathroom.

All rooms have a working Japanese fountain to soothe you to sleep.
