Amazing Place to Stay Visited: August 2009 |
|

| We stayed at Coral Oasis not too long ago and what an amazing house and view! If you want a quiet place with lots of room and fantastic amenities this is the place. The bed rooms are large, the bathrooms are large, the kitchen is great for cooking and entertaining. Their BBQ works which is great as we've stayed in places where it does not and the pool is located such that you can view the ocean below and have quick access to the main house. I recommend this place for a truly relaxing vacation. |

We are going back next year. Visited: April 2008 |

| We stayed here with another couple. It was a great set-up. It was just minutes from town with all the amenities. I am going back next year alone with my husband for one week. Then, the couples are coming down so we have to move to a bigger spot. Don't hesitate! |

Great Place! Visited: August 2009 |

| We spent a wonderful week on St. John staying at the Chez Shell Villa. The house was nicely decorated and had all of the conveniences that we could ask for. The open floor plan made the house seem quite spacious and comfortable. The deck was great for eating any meal especially dinners at sunset. We liked the fact that the location was close to Cruz Bay and the North Shore beaches. We look foward to returning to St. John and staying at Chez Shell. | |

| A group of my family and friends stayed a week at the Avalon Villa. It was perfect for us! The bedrooms overlooking Chocolate Hole had a great breeze all day and night. The main house was perfect for a group. Loved it! Would definitely stay there again! | |

Top of the line! Visited: May 2009 |

| We have travelled the Caribbean for 15 years and this villa now occupies our #1 rating. The owners, Randy & Marcia, have thought of absolutely everything and spared no expense in appointing this lovely perch. View is fabulous, the house is fabulous and you get to practice your four-wheeling ability going to and from. If you like the Coral Bay area, this is perfect! | |

| Just returned from St. John. Our first trip and we loved every day we were there. Latitude Villa was perfect. View was breathtaking. Accommodations were first class. Quiet, peaceful. Just the right distance from town. Sleeps 6 easily. | |

They had the best cheeseburger on the island. |

| After a day of snorkeling at Maho or Francis Bay, take Centerline Road and head over to Coral Bay. It is a small place that is hugely popular with the locals. It is fun, lively, and has great service. The food is very good for a casual dive. There are also little shops to browse in while your food cooks. There is lots of local color. |

Here you find the best ribs on the island. |
|
| Posted by rmsheffi17 | |
| This is a corner shack and grill place in downtown Cruz Bay. We have been eating here the last four times we've come to St. John. It has never been disappointing. The price is right, the food is cooked to order, and the ribs are wonderful (chicken, too). In addition, salads and other sides are very good. Don't miss this one! |

I was unimpressed, and it was too expensive! |
|
| Posted by rmsheffi17 | |
| The food was fair. They served huge portions - enough for two people for sure. However, it was very overpriced for a pasta place. It was $25.00 per order for pasta! Salads were over $10.00 each, the drinks were high, and the desserts were not worth it. Beware. |

It was the best meal of the stay. |

| Morgan's Mango near Mongoose Junction in downtown Cruz Bay was the best meal of trip. I enjoyed wahoo with mango sauce, curry rice and black eyed beans. It was wonderful. It had a nice decor, and we received good service. We wish we would have eaten there sooner. It became a favorite. |

Fair rental Visited: June 2009 |
|
| Posted by rmsheffi17 | |
| The good: Nice layout to house, great views, nice to have washer and dryer there... secluded. Nice grounds. Nice hot water, each bathroom with own instant water heater..beds comfortable, ceiling fans greatly helped heat and humidity, and A/C in each bedroom if wanted to use. Nice breeze most of time. Nice separate bedroom on lower deck. Patio furniture more comfortable than living room set. We have rented numerous villas, condos in tropical locations, this one fair for price and accommodations. Pool warm, nice, with waterfall. The bad: location of house uphill, needed 4 wheel drive rental due to rains, no way up hill in rains without it..about 20 min ride to downtown Cruz Bay, twisted steep roads. Parking very steep, have to back in to driveway, then slippery steps and steep walking ramp...not suitable for older couple or people with disability. House seems somewhat neglected, needs detail cleaning, and general maintenance. Door jambs, dirty with prints, kitchen cabinets musty, bugs, mold, termites in some areas. Some cabinet hinges were broke. All areas needed dusting.. kitchen needs updated silverware, not enough food saver bowls or drinking cups, knives dull. Did not seem fully prepped before our arrival. Tiled surface floors, very slippery when wet...so getting in out pool had to be done very cautiously or wear your thong shoes to be safe. Would have been nice to have a squeegee mop to dry deck after rainfall. I-pod player only worked half the time...had to mess with that over and over to get it to work..mouse on computer needs replacing. Property reply... We agree that a 4-wheel vehicle is needed on St. John and note that most rental companies on the island will only rent 4-wheel drive vehicles for this reason. There is a flat parking area at the bottom of the driveway at Waterfall and even an entry ramp for those guests having difficulty handling a few steps. Waterfall is an excellent choice for those desiring one-level living for some in the party and for those with mobility issues. Slippery tiled surfaces are a perennial problem on the island, but this summer the owners of Waterfall have surfaced the tile areas with a product that is undetectable when dry, but prevents slipping even if you try(!) when wet. It works so well, the villa management company hopes to add this product to other properties on St. John soon. Both the villa management company and the owners were distraught to hear concerns about cleanliness, maintenance, and amenities at Waterfall. All issues have been fully addressed. Future guests will also be happy to know that changes have been made to ensure this was an isolated situation. They fully expect that all future guests will have the kind of quality vacation experience that Waterfall has a reputation of providing. |

My observations from meandering through mellow Maho. Visited: May 2009 |
|
| Posted by morgane_79 | |
| Maho management has let this, once picturesque and innovative eco-resort, go. Mold permeates through the walls, and the white tarps are littered with animal deposits and rust that happily greets you in the sunlight (I later learned they are going through an intense legal battle over ownership of the property). Evidently the raison d'tre at Maho is not the pristine eco-resorts, but the resorts proximity to private, immaculate beaches. Nonetheless, if you are looking to meet great people, stay in the cheapest location on St. John, and relax by the beach knowing that you aren't contributing to global warming, this is the place to be. |

A wonderful villa with a marvelous view Visited: April 2009 |
|
| Posted by kbriggs | |
| My family and I stayed at Ebb Tide for 8 days in April. It was a marvelous stay. The furnishings are all new. The bedrooms very private with private baths. The view is lovely. And even though there is a new resort under construction near Ebb Tide, the noise was minimal and we had a lot of privacy. I would recommend this villa to anyone. I know you would enjoy it as much as we did. We hope to return another time. | |

It's getting better every year. Visited: May 2009 |

| I am an owner at Westin St. John as well as a few other Westin resorts in the states. Yes, this resort is undergoing a transformation -- it was a Hilton before Westin purchased it, so they have had to work with what was in place. This stated, the Westin is spending time and money to upgrade the facility to the level of the other proberties -- which are awesome. They are also building a full spa which should be a year away. As for St. John, I have stayed in both the rooms as well as the villas and the rooms do need a make over. However, the renovated villas are the best I have seen. As the others have posted, the island is beautiful. You must get out and experience the other beaches and the restaurants. |

| I am in the restaurant business and appreciate great food and service. This is the best on the island. The food is delicious and presented beautifully. The service is great and the view is fantastic. I would say this is a must for anyone who loves great food. You can tell the owner is passionate about food, and the wine list is great as well. Don't miss ZoZo's. |

| Villa Carolina is an outstanding vacation home. The views are extraordinary, and the furnishings are very comfortable and nicely appointed. Also, the kitchen is stocked very well for cooking and entertaining. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, and the linens are first class. We loved Coral Bay and loved this villa. We have been vacationong in St. John for ten years, and this is our favorite home. |

St John's Esprit Villa Visited: April 2009 |

| The view from Esprit surpassed our imagination. The villa itself is more remote than we anticipated. The villa has all the amenities necessary for a great trip. Few areas require some TLC, particulary the deck. Overall the accommodations were very comfortable. | |
