Disappointing Visited: December 2003 Posted by mark_her Soulshine is a far cry from the way it is described on its website. First of all, the "water front" location actually means being adjacent to a busy water way. Motor boats of all sizes will wake you up in the morning! In addition, Soulshine is next to a local open bar, with Karaoke two nights a week. Unless you like live music in your cabana at 1am, we would not recommend Soulshine as a place for rest and relaxation. The local staff is doing a great job and makes up for some of the inconveniences. However, the staff is overworked. The owner is more interested in his daily fishing trips than the well-being of his guests. Food is excellent, featuring local delicacies. The cabanas are basic and clean. Stay indoors at dawn and dusk when the sand flies come out to feast! Diving conditions in the month of December are not great. Visibility varies between reasonably well to poor. Overall, Soulshine is not the place for relaxation as promised and is pricey for the level of amenities and service delivered.
