What a stop on our honeymoon! Visited: January 2008

What a beautiful time.

My husband and I saw many new birds. The tour to Arenal Lake was wonderful, as were the waterfall in La Fortuna, and the Hot Water Springs at Tabacon.

We also enjoyed the trails inside the property at the Arenal Lodge. Oh, and there is an active volcano, too!

We got up early (thanks to the Howler Monkeys), and we saw the mist swirling around the cone. What luck!

We will likely be coming back soon.

It was the perfect honeymoon. Visited: September 2007

Our three days at Arenal Lodge were more than we could have expected - the views, the tours, the animals and nature and the hospitality! It was a perfect way to start our honeymoon!

We did not stay in the Honeymoon Suite because we wanted to stay at the Chalet for the view. It was absoutely gorgeous! The room was comfortable, clean, and relaxing.

The trail behind the Butterfly Garden was our favorite activity here. We walked there every day to watch the monkeys and birds.

The restaurant offered international dishes, but we also enjoyed what they called "Casado" with plantains (kind of rice and beans). It was very tasty. At the bar we had Caipirinhas, which was a Brazilian drink - but we learned to love it.

During the day we could see the mist swirling around the cone of the volcano - but I have to confess that I slept through the volcano's eruption. We will be back to see it again, though!

The safest place in the area of the Volcano Arenal. Visited: November 1999

We enjoyed our stay.

The buterfly garden and the walk through he jungle was exciting and beautiful. The hot water was a luxury.

The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful.

It was an experience of a lifetime to hear and see the eruptions of the Volcano Arenal - especially knowing that you are staying in the safest place in the area to observe it.
