What a stop on our honeymoon! Visited: January 2008 Posted by danielf_f_ What a beautiful time. My husband and I saw many new birds. The tour to Arenal Lake was wonderful, as were the waterfall in La Fortuna, and the Hot Water Springs at Tabacon. We also enjoyed the trails inside the property at the Arenal Lodge. Oh, and there is an active volcano, too! We got up early (thanks to the Howler Monkeys), and we saw the mist swirling around the cone. What luck! Visited: September 2007 Posted by williamor Our three days at Arenal Lodge were more than we could have expected - the views, the tours, the animals and nature and the hospitality! It was a perfect way to start our honeymoon! We did not stay in the Honeymoon Suite because we wanted to stay at the Chalet for the view. It was absoutely gorgeous! The room was comfortable, clean, and relaxing. The trail behind the Butterfly Garden was our favorite activity here. We walked there every day to watch the monkeys and birds. The restaurant offered international dishes, but we also enjoyed what they called "Casado" with plantains (kind of rice and beans). It was very tasty. At the bar we had Caipirinhas, which was a Brazilian drink - but we learned to love it. During the day we could see the mist swirling around the cone of the volcano - but I have to confess that I slept through the volcano's eruption. Visited: November 1999 Posted by danielf_f_ We enjoyed our stay. The buterfly garden and the walk through he jungle was exciting and beautiful. The hot water was a luxury. The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful.
