My wife, our son and I stayed at the hotel for eight days in July. We had beautiful weather. It rained once while we were here, but only for a few moments. It felt like paradise. I am saving like crazy so we can visit again. |

I was en-route to Dominica via Antigua from the UK, and wanted to stay the weekend. My partner met me in Antigua and surprised me with a three-night stay at Blue Waters Hotel. It's hard to find one word that sums up this hotel but "ecstasy" comes to mind!
The staff was 100% attentive, polite and helpful from the moment we arrived. The hotel room and facilities were very clean, well maintained and beautiful. We had a spacious and private patio.
In summary, it was the perfect hotel for relaxation, a wedding, honeymoon or weekending romantics like us. I'd definitely have my wedding here! |

After four stays at Blue Waters, it feels like our second home. It's relaxed and very intimate. The staff is very friendly, the food is wonderful, and the resort is beautiful.
If you're looking for a rocking party place, this isn't it. If you want a place to relax, meet new friends and totaly unwind, you'll come to love Blue Waters as we have. We truly love it and can't wait to go back! |

We had an amazing wedding at Blue Waters. The staff, hotel, room, beach, and service - everything was first class. It was a shame that it had to end! |

I have just returned from two fabulous weeks at Blue Waters. The hotel location, the food and the staff could not have been better. The bar staff was absolutely fantastic (and mixed some great drinks) especially Carolyn, Althea, Joe, Clifford and Andre.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good standard all-inclusive holiday. I don't often say that I would go back to the same hotel twice, but I would go back to Blue Waters. |

My wife and I stayed at Blue Waters on our honeymoon and we couldn't have picked a better place.
The amenities were great: a stocked mini-bar in our room every day, watersports activities, and the food at both the Palm restaurant and Vyvien's was great!
My wife and I loved the beach at Blue Waters, as it was nestled in a small cove. We felt, however, that the best feature was this: On the other side of the property's beach, there was another little strip of beach that was isolated and nestled between two small cliffs, one of which was where the Rock Cottage sat.
If the staff knows that you are on your honeymoon, they will boat you over to this isolated beach and pick you up whenever you want. My wife and I had a whole beach to ourselves for two afternoons, and there was complete privacy!
It would be difficult (if not impossible) for anyone to scale down the cliffs and walk to this strip, and anyone approaching by boat can be first seen from a very far distance. We felt like we were shipwrecked. It was very romantic! For us, this private beach to ourselves made the whole honeymoon! |

This was my second visit to Blue Waters and I have to say it was just as good as I remembered - if not better. We were once again made welcome from the minute we arrived and the staff was fantastic.
There were more organized kids' activities this time and the hotel was much busier, but it was just how we remembered it. I have never been to a hotel where all the staff made you feel so welcome.
The rooms were also perfect, I cannot think of a bad thing about the hotel. Both the resturants served fantastic food, Vivyen's served the best steak, but the Palm had some lovely dishes as well.
The bar staff was really welcoming, and Clifford definitely made the best drinks, although Carolyn, Didier and Craig deserve a mention - and of course Dexter and his smile. My holiday would not have been the same without them.
Shirley's Heights was worth a visit as the sunsets there were beautiful. The island was very small, but well worth exploring. St. Johns had very good shopping!
Overall, this holiday was unforgettable and I hope it will not be my last visit to Blue Waters. |

We had two great weeks at Blue Waters as a convalesence for my wife following surgery. It was the best property we have stayed at in Caribbean area (we have visited most main islands).
They had great rooms (deluxe beachfront) that were well furnished and very comfortable. They offered two outstanding restaurants serving great international cuisine (plenty of seafood). Also, the pool bar and main bar served cocktails and branded spirits/beer. The gardens were beautiful despite a five-year dry spell. And they had the most friendly of staff, all of whom made our stay special.
Any downside ? The sea in the bay was sometimes was a bit murky limiting the possibility of snorkeling, but that was beyond Blue Waters' control. The beaches were small, but well kept and they were never crowded. There were two pools and they were never crowded.
Blue Waters was a gem and only 15 minutes from the international airport. We loved it and will return. |

We have just returned from a two-week stay at this lovely intimate resort. If you are looking for first-class service; excellent, well-prepared and tasty food; smiling staff in a beautiful setting, look no further than Blue Waters.
From the moment we entered the reception area, we knew we were onto a good thing. With a welcome rum punch, we were shown to our room (a deluxe beachfront) with a great view of the sea.
All around us were well-kept gardens (credit to the gardeners). We enjoyed the sound of birds singing and the gentle lap of the sea running up to one of two small, but never crowded, beaches.
We were fortunate to have chosen Blue Waters as the place for our wedding and honeymoon and we cannot thank the hotel staff enough for making us feel so special on our happy day. Special thanks to Cindy for the organizing, Beverley for helping the bride look a picture, and the kitchen staff for the wonderful cake - yum, yum. Others included (too many to remember) the guy who dressed the gazebo, and the girls who decorated the room - brilliant!
We chose the all-inclusive option which, without doubt, was the best choice. There were so many cocktails to choose from. Thanks especially to Carolyn, Clifford, Dexter, Craig Andy and the new boy on the block, Andre.
The food, again, was first-class whether at the Palm or Vivien's restaurants. Vivien's was more intimate (book early each day at reception).
Thanks again, Blue Waters, for a wonderful time. It is no wonder your guests return year after year. We cetainly hope to celebrate at least one anniversary with you in the future.

We had a hillside villa. This was luxurious and spacious. The other accommodations looked just as good.
The private beach had plenty of activities, if you wanted. Evening entertainment was a bit limited, but a regular band was pleasant. The kids' gameroom kept our two (9 and 12) busy most nights. The main pool was a bit cloudy and had a rough floor surface.
Cheaper and good water sports were just around the bay at the Rex and Sandals beach.
They provided an excellent choice of food and drink, and they were very accommodating for fussy kids and adults! You can get a complimentary hamper for any day tours / fishing trips. The house champagne was very paletable.
The staff was very friendly.. especially the bar staff!
If you are considering Antigua.. you must seriously consider Blue Waters... it will make your holiday. It is exclusive and well worth it. We had a wonderfull holiday, met some wonderful people and would love to go again. |

We were drawn to this hotel by its fabulous web site. Upon arrival, we were kept waiting to check in for about ten minutes - which I felt was a bit long.
We had a deluxe beachfront room which was smaller than we expected. However, the view was nice. Within the hour, we noticed there was no hot water in our bathroom. We had a problem with the water in our room for three days, but the management was doing what they could to fix this problem.
We also had a problem with a leaking air conditioner that was dripping water into our room.
The better points of the hotel were the excellent food at their two restaurants, the Palm and Vyvien's, which both served a nice variety of international cuisine.
Also, if you plan to get married at the hotel, you won't be disappointed. All the paperwork and legal documents can be completed within about two days.
A special thank you goes to Cindy, who helped coordinate the whole event at guest services. The wedding package was affordable and was done very well. The beach was quite small, but very nice and extremely quiet.
I would have given it five stars, but the problem with our room was annoying. I do, however, plan on returning because the management and staff were very friendly and helpful. |

We chose Blue Waters as our honeymoon destination due the rave reviews it received. However, we were thoroughly disappointed. The hotel didn't have our reservation - which I booked 7 months in advance. They put us in the wrong room and, although they were willing to move us, we were in three different rooms on our six-night stay. In addition, the hotel charged our credit card for products/services we did not render. We will not return to Blue Waters. |

Blue Waters hotel was an absolute paradise, with all that one would nee!! We explored the island several times and no other place could be compared to this Eutopia.
The beach was just the right size, not too crowded nor completely deserted. The sea was perfect. It was warm, and most of the time it was crystal clear, with silky sand which felt wonderful to walk on.
For the active types there was a watersports center which enabled guests to do many activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing and many other things.
Above all, the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. A special mention has to be made about Dexter and his smile, and also his amazing basketball skills. Rosalind also deserves a special mention, for she was very friendly.
The restaurants were stunning, and the food was great.
We couldn't have asked for a better holiday in the Caribbean sun! |

We chose Blue Waters after a great deal of research on the internet.
The reviews of the individual hotels often mentioned similar problems which was a good indication to us that we didn't want to go there. Not one review had a bad word to say about Blue Waters, so we booked up.
From the moment we arrived in reception, we knew it was a special place. The personal attention and friendliness of the staff was exceptional and they all seemed to be very relaxed and happy in their work, though working very hard. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
We were given an upgrade from a hillside room to a beachfront room and the room was beautifully kept and had a verandah outside with a settee with cushions and table and chairs. There was also an outside light and ceiling fan so you could read after the wonderful sunsets had faded.
The bedroom had airconditioning, a ceiling fan, fridge and TV. Unfortunately, the only news was CNN, which was dire, so we did without TV very happily for our stay!
There were two pools, but we sat out on the grassy area under one of the many parasoles and swam in the sea. Snorkeling was poor here, but canoes, windsurfers, pedaloes and small sailing boats were free. The bay was full of pelicans, 13 fishing one day, and it was fun to watch them diving as long as you didn't swim too close.
The gardens were beautifully kept and the gardeners were at work constantly. There were two restaurants, the Palm and Vyviens. We only ate at Vyviens once as we preferred the Palm, which was open to the gardens. The food was excellent and there was a constant change of menu, with special nights, barbecues and buffets.
We were only on halfboard and were relieved as afternoon tea was also included on that meal plan so it was easy to become like Tweedledum! At first, it wasn't clear that we could just ask for the snack menu at lunchtime as there was a main meal laid on then too. The snack menu was varied and more than enough. Without transport, it was difficult to eat outside the hotel.
Service was excellent and very relaxed. Being called 'sweetie' all the time was a new experience for my husband! Caroline at the beachbar was a diamond and the happiest person you'll ever meet.
The other bar, the Pelican, was attractively and comfortably laid out with, in the evening, a variety of very professional musical entertainment which was enjoyable but didn't kill conversation either. After nightfall, the music competed with the chirping of the treefrogs and 'choochoochoo' of the crickets.(Avoid letting a treefrog into your room at all costs or you will never get to sleep!)
We were amazed to meet so many people who returned year after year - one person for 28 years! We couldn't fault a thing at Blue Waters! |

My husband and I just returned from a week at Blue Waters Hotel in Antigua. We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful vacation.
The resort was just beautiful with lush vegetation and flowers. Our room was delightful with a great veranda that overlooked the Caribbean Ocean. The staff at Blue Waters was extremely helpful and accommodating.
Although we did not partake in the all-inclusive plan (only because we like to explore), we did eat several dinners and one lunch at the hotel and the food was excellent.
I would highly recommend this hotel to all who are looking for a relaxing vacation in a beautiful place. |

From the hotel's brochure, website and numerous reviews we read, we were only somewhat comfortable with selecting the Blue Waters as our vacation desination. However, after just returning from an incredible seven-day trip, we highly recommend the resort!
The grounds were beautiful! Our room (near the villas) was splendid with a beautiful view from our balcony and had a renovated, deluxe bathroom. (We heard others complaining about tiny bathrooms, so be sure to inquire about renovated large bathrooms).
The resort never felt crowded. In fact, most days and evenings, we felt like it was our private oasis.
Couple tips - the food was very good and the all-inclusive option was a better deal. Plus, be sure to check out Vyienne's Restaurant. You'll need to make reservations at the front desk, but it was far superior than the Palm (for dinner).
Other reviews have mentioned the chilly first responses from hotel staff and British guests. We found it to be true, but the staff definitely warmed up to us and we met a number of wonderful guests (both British and American).
Overall, we are planning on making an annual excursion to the resort! And we consider this hotel to be one of the best kept secrets in the Caribbean! |

My wife, our 10-year-old son and I just returned from nine days at Blue Waters. In a word....terrific.We've stayed at perhaps a dozen islands and Blue Waters is a class act.
They offered gourmet food, had a very pleasant staff, and we had great views from our second floor room. It had a "veddy" British feel to it and the Brits we met were all really nice.
Our only small complaints were that the water was a little murky, stirred by the winds I guess, and you needed to hire a boat if you wanted to go snorkeling as there were none close by.
All-in all, it was a lush, impeccably kept intimate jewel. |

We have a different opinion the Blue Waters. Visited: February 2003 |

We were encouraged by the reviews we read on this and other sites prior to arrival at Blue Waters. We would agree with some of the comments, but certainly not all.
First, we did think the resort was beautiful, with lovely grounds and positively well maintained. The rooms were adequate, and as with most Caribbean vacations, we spent little time in there, anyway-- the weather being the main draw for us. Maid service was fine. The view from our room was the perfect place to watch the sun rise and set.
The food was very good. It was outstanding, really. There was a great selection, wonderful presentation, and it was well-prepared and served. There were only positive things to say about the food. We arranged a half-board, so we can't comment on lunch.
The only problem we had with the dining here was the amount of small children that were seated near us. In fact, we were amazed at the number of children at this resort. We knew it wasn't an adults-only place, but at these prices we did not expect to see (and hear) so many kids. We asked to have our room changed as there was a small child next door, but they could not arrange this as the resort was booked.
We did tour the island, which was beautiful. On an island with so many outstanding beaches, Blue Waters did not have much of a beach. The water was cloudy and the beach was small. The pools were okay, and the adults pool could use some work.
We did see the manager at dinner one night, he introduced himself to diners sitting nearby.
This was primarily a British resort and we got the distinct impression that they would like keep it that way. That was okay by us. For such a warm, tropical place, we found Blue Waters quite chilly. |

This resort was perfect. We actually got married while we were here, which was wonderful. We spent ten days here and it was a dream. You should definitely do the all-inclusive plan as it was too pricy to pay as you go.
Some have mentioned the beach was on the smaller side, but we found it to be fine - especially when you consider that the hotel is so small anyway. We never had a problem getting a spot. We rarely spent time at the pool since we loved the beach.
The food was yummy - we didn't have a bad meal the whole time. We ate like kings! The staff was excellent - all of them were so friendly and helpful. All in all, it was a dream vacation! |
