Waterfalls Inn was a pleasant, romantic, quiet bed and breakfast. Visited: December 2004 |

My wife and I stayed at the Waterfalls Inn for two nights at the beginning of our honeymoon in Hawaii. Neither of us had been to Hawaii before, but we knew from reading about the Big Island that exploring Volcanoes National Park from Kona would be difficult.
We picked Hilo as a base and then decided on the Waterfalls Inn primarily based on the other reviews posted on another web site. We were not disappointed.
We stayed in the Rainbow Falls room, and the bed was the most comfortable we slept on during our entire trip. Falling asleep to the sound of the waterfall outside of our room was magical, and the jacuzzi tub in our bathroom was the perfect remedy for a day of hiking the craters in the park.
George's smoothies were great, and I loved that the breakfast was available as a buffet as opposed to the seated breakfast. I find it makes the mornings a bit more relaxed to know that I don't have to eat at a specified time because someone is waiting to serve me.
George was a great host, offering recommendations for restaurants in Hilo and several interesting detours on the road to Kona (our next destination). |
