Hapuna Beach boasts wonderful rooms, attentive staff, and well manicured grounds. Visited: June 2005

My wife and I spent four days of our 25th Anniversary trip at this hotel. It was very quiet, with beautiful scenery. We had a wonderful room (huge in fact.)

Management even sent a bottle of wine for our anniversary. The staff was here to serve and were not "put out" by requests.

We will definitely stay here in future, and give references.

The hotel and grounds provided a beautiful view and a wide-open lobby. The landscaped grounds were clean throughout.

Our room was large and clean with a big (and private) lani and beautiful ocean view.

We had a beautiful sunset views from the beach, lobby or the lani. Some nights were cloudy, but most were beautiful.

The staff was very helpful, always pleasant and full of island advice and directions.

The beach was deserving of its “Best Beach” title. It was beautiful to look at, fun to play on/in, with plenty of umbrellas and chairs. It was also long enough for a very nice walk on the shore. We even saw whales from the beach on our last day.

We ate at two of the restaurants. They offered good quality and portions with fair prices and a very nice view. The buffet was particularly nice.

The pool was attractive and had a view of the ocean.

There was a number of activities on the grounds or at the sister hotel, the Mauna Kea. (reachable by a five-minute shuttle bus ride every 20 minutes). We participated in a few and enjoyed them all.

We enjoyed the late check-out. The hotel extended us to 1:00 pm and offered us the fitness center after that to clean-up before our evening flight.

We liked that the refrigerator was not filled with expensive junk food. We filled it with tropical fruit and papaya juice.

It was simply paradise! Visited: April 2002

We completely enjoyed our stay at this resort. Everything about it was first rate.

The staff was kind and attentive. Each time we saw a staff member, they gave us a warm hello and the offer of their assistance.

The grounds were beautiful and was very aromatic with all of the flowers. Our room had a great view and a roomy bathroom, with a separate shower and tub. Parking was free.

The pool was awsome, it was edgeless, so the water lapped into drains that surrounded the pool. It was really neat. The beach was also first class. The waves were good for body-surfing and we were able to see whales migrating from our lounge chairs. As always, there was an attentive beach staff to get towels, boogie boards, etc.

We loved our stay here and would highly reccommend it to anyone going to the Big Island.

The Hapuna Beach Prince is a Westin Hotel and has all of the amenities you have come to expect from a Starwood property, plus some.

The grounds of the hotel were spectacular and led to the most gorgeous beach on the island. Tiki lights outlined the path to the water's edge for those interested in strolls after sunset.

Both room service and the resort's restaurants had impeccable service and presentation. All the staff was willing to assist in even the most mundane requests. (The concierge put my sunglasses back together with a small toolkit!)

We even had friendly geckos visit our room. We stayed in a premium oceanview that was worth every penny and dined each morning on a lovely terrace. The rooms were fabulously appointed and the bed was wonderful to fall into each night...the Westin's “Heavenly Bed” is definitely the best home-away-from-home bed I've ever sampled.
Stay at the Hapuna Prince. You won't find a nicer oceanfront resort anywhere, and the staff is exactly what is needed—always there, yet invisible when appropriate.
