WON'T EVER STAY THERE AGAIN! Visited: October 2004

We checked into the Maui Lu on Oct 27th and was so ashamed of the Partial Ocean Veiw Room we pre-purchased that we didn't even want to be in Hawaii! The place is in shambles, and should be torn down and rebuilt. The maid service was something else, we stayed there for 7 nightS and the maid never changed the sheets or bedding for the 1st 5 night we stayed there.Forgot to leave towels, soap, forgot to clean the garbage out of the room ect ect. The location is excellent and the pool is nice, but a Restraunt is advertised on the Web-Site and it is like 2 1/2 miles down the road. Good thing we rented a Car, it would have been a long long ways to walk!! NEVER AGAIN WILL WE STAY THERE!

Maui Lu affords a wonderful oceanfront location. Visited: January 2003

The Maui Lu is a classic. With the huge pool (shaped like the island of Maui), the 28 acres of manicure grounds, and its own beach - it's a natural choice. This is a place to come to relax and enjoy the beauty of Hawaii.

The Ocean front rooms are the best, but the garden rooms can't
be beat for value. I stayed in both. No matter your choice, the rooms are very large.

Shopping centers and Maui nightlife are only a short trip away by car. The restaurant/club is being renovated, but will re-open soon.

This is a quiet restful place to get away from it all, but very close to
all the excitement, too. It's a short drive to the airport, but you will never want to leave.

Quiet and romantic, a great place to stay. Visited: January 2002

We really liked this hotel.

Our room was right on the beach, so we had the ocean sounds, and a small private beach. The place was a little old, but the rooms were large and we liked the tall wooden beamed ceilings and the rustic feel.

If you want all the amenities of a big resort - room service, restaurant, etc. - this is not for you. But if you like peace and quiet and being near the water, this is a great deal for the money.
