Yes, it's as excellent as all the reviews. The grounds were perfect, and services were top notch (I really don't know how you can top this resort, but apparently you can).
Our room was very spacious. And they did not nickel and dime us. Most of the requests were free (cabana, snorkel rental, bath salt...etc), which was very different from the other Maui resorts.
The concierge was very helpful (even though they were very busy all the time). Lomi Lomi massage was the best spa treatment I'd ever had. I don't have kids, but talked to other guests, and they highly praised the kids program. And sitting by the kiddie pool, I could tell that everyone in the program was enjoying themselves. I would definitely recommend this place.
Now comes the room-for-improvement area. By no means were these complaints, though (unless to those who have only stayed at five-star hotels all their lives)....
1. Pool area was small compared to other resorts. Peak hours were around 9:00 am. I almost never got a chair or any immediate service during thess hours. But that was understandable. In the mid-afternoon hours, it was much improved. If you want big pools with pool sports, go to Grand Wilea instead.
2. Pool service was lacking. The staff was very hard at work, but just not enough to take guests orders, let alone spray them with Evian or give you water. (Again, you should still stay here despite that.)
3. There was a lack of lunch / afternoon snack eateries. Only one restaurant was opened, and I got tired of their food very quickly.
But overall, it was still better than any other resorts I'd ever stayed at. Even other Four Seasons.
I did cry when I left. For those who didn't enjoy this resort, they should really see a theraptist. |

This is one of the best beach resorts in the world! Visited: March 2003 |

This resort was absolutely beautiful. Unlike most large luxury beach resorts, it didn't feel huge and overwhelming. The staff always made it feel as if everything was for only us.
Although pricy (expected at a five-star hotel), the restaurants were phenomenal. The beach was great, with good snorkeling right nearby.
The only negative was that there were a few days with lots of surf, almost a dangerous level. If you like to swim in a lagoon with no waves, go to a different resort, like the Mauna Lani on the big island.
The huge resort next door (The Grand Wailea) had all the water sports available to Four Seasons guests and the Four Seasons offered its own Scuba Diving and instruction. My boyfriend and I did this and it was wonderful!
The pool was what made this hotel most memorable. It was beautiful. Every part of this hotel was extraordinary. No detail had been overlooked at all. It's hard to find something to complain about. |

We had heard that this resort was the best on Maui - and even the best in Hawaii. We completely agree! We never wanted to leave and come home! We travel very frequently and this was the only place we've ever really said we wanted to come back to. We have no interest in any other hotel on the island of Maui.
The resort and grounds were beautiful, the service was impeccable. All of the staff ended a converstation asking "Is there anything else I can do for you today?". A casual comment about karaoke at dinner resulted in our waiter coming back with recommendations on where to go from the concierge.
The restaurants were all great. We have two kids - ages four and ten - who had a fantastic time even though our youngest was too young for the kids club (which was booming with activity and very happy children).
I would highly recommend this resort to everyone who is interested in going to Maui! |

My husband and I celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary and decided to visit Maui and stay at the Four Seasons. Wow.....the resort was everything we had hoped for and more.
We were greeted with leis and made to feel like we could leave our worries behind the minute we stepped out of our vehicle.
Upon check in, the staff realized the late hour of the day and offered immediately to make dinner reservations for us (as well as give us cold washclothes to cool off with). We ate at Spago that evening and I had the best Mahi Mahi ever (I'm from the East...they cook it so I could break my windshield with it). After such an exhausting flight, it was nice to have a relaxing, incredibly scrumptious meal.
Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean and pool. It was clean and decorated in soft pastels. The marble bathroom was luxurious and I couldn't wait to take a bubble bath in the tub.
The next morning we had a lovely buffet breakfast (a bit pricey) but after our long flight I didn't care how much it cost. After breakfast, it was off to the pool. The pool staff cannot go unnoticed (as well as anyone who works at the Four Seasons in Maui). These folks were so nice and worked very hard to make sure we had everything we needed. The cold washcloths and Evian sprays will be missed as well as the frozen grapes, popsicles and delicious lunches poolside.
We ate at all the restaurants (Ferraro's at Seaside, Pacific Grill and Spago) and we were NOT disappointed. The food was above and beyond our expectations. Keep in mind the prices were not cheap. My husband and I did not want to scrimp on this vacation, so we made sure to splurge every chance we got. The valet drivers were also really nice to us - they gave us ideas on where to go and what to do as well as other places to eat.
I can't say enough about our stay at the Four Seasons Resort. From the ambiance to the staff, this resort made our ten year anniversary very memorable. We didn't want to leave, but the money unfortunately ran out and we had to return home. We have started to save so we can return sometime in the near future. Just one visit here and you will be hooked. |

We have traveled extensively over the years and have stayed at several wonderful resorts. The Four Seasons Wailea, by far, beat the rest. It may seem a bit pricey, but it is worth every penny.
Upon arrival, you are welcomed with a fresh flower lei. The rooms are large, and the L-Occitane en Provence bath products are great! The in-room coffee service includes a coffee grinder along with fresh Kona coffee beans. There is a turn-down service each evening with a soft Hawaiian music CD to lull you to sleep.
Room service is excellent! The breakfast buffet is pricey at $24.95, but they have a great selection of gourmet items. The staff acknowledges you by name, and all are extremely courteous.
We are looking forward to a return visit! |

Everything was perfect - except the beds. They were still very good, but the Westin Maui beds were much more comfortable (heavenly beds, was what they called them). |
