I come to STJ each year and stay at the Westin. Like most hotels it is not perfect. The rooms vary as does the housekeeping which is maintained by an outside company and not the Westin. Overall the place is not bad and if you have issues talk to the managers and they will fix it.

The pool is nice and Dorsett who works at the pool bar is FANtastic. She will take great care of you if you take care of her. Unlike some of the other reviews I have not had weak drinks. I never eat at the hotel except for lunch which I either get from the bar or Mango's Deli.

The hotel is convenient as it is only a $4 cab ride to town or my favorite stop at Woody's for happy hour. The beach is eh. If you really want to experience a beach on STJ there are many many to chose from and well worth the cab ride to get there. Don't judge by this beach.

We had two rooms for five of us. This was right above the tennis courts with an ocean view. An excellent value for the (priceline) money. I'm not sure I'd pay the "higher" listed rates though given some other properties i've stayed locally. If you want views, comfort, etc.. it comes recommended.

The restaurant we ate as was mediocre and way, way overpriced though. Keep that in mind.

The reviews are in from not only myself, a seasoned traveler, but also my wife and family. I planned a five person get away for the family and wanted clean, safe surroundings with convenience to town. My expectations were far exceeded!

Sue and Buddy were great, accommodating and the perfect hosts. My father dislocated his shoulder during the trip, our car got a flat and more adventures, but the place felt like home and we had a great time even after the bumps. I could go on, but you already get the picture.

Hope to visit STT sometime soon!

This was mine and my husbands first trip to an Island - no less St.John USVI and it was more than we could have ever pictured or imagined. From the villa accomodations to the St. John countryside! The Villa was spectacular in every way. From the view outside the villa's front deck overlooking coral bay and Tortola, poolside everyday after our trip to beaches, beautiful plants nestled on the grounds, to resting inside this well maintained neatly decorated spacious home; we couldn't have ever expected more. Every accomodation you could imagine! The trip was pure peace and relaxation. Our 30th anniversary gift spent at place we will always cherrish!
...no less definately go back!

Happy Bay Villa is very beautiful. The gardening and landscaping are perfect, the maintenance of the house is great. The housekeeper is super friendly. It has a nice layout.

The walk to the beach part is not a real way to say it, and so I give 3 stars because not everyone can walk to the beach. My husband is very fit, but this downhill, viney and rocky path should be termed a "hike", and while it is a beautiful beach there is nothing there. So folks would want to also try and carry towels and drinks, and it is a challenge that was too big for our family to do. The other beach has a nice restaurant, but I do not either see a practical way to walk/hike there. The road is dusty, and it is very buggy in the grasses.

Also, the pool does not have a shallow end for children. But it was a bench seat down to the deeper water, so still not a shallow "swim area".

The breeze from the outer gazebo area is very pleasant, the kitchen is super well equipped, and for grownups the pool is great. And, again, a picture could be taken anywhere outside on the property as it is beautifully kept.
