Charming villa with great viewsVisited: December 2008
Posted by christmas2008
Great views from the villa and well situated to explore the North Sound. However, if you are a beachgoer, there's just a small beach within walking distance so you must drive or take a boat to another island. Charming villa, but very few comfort amenities and lacking in the ones that are there. It is also pretty loud since it is right on the access road to Leverick Bay Resort.

This house is absolutely wonderful! The owner's are the perfect hosts! Our group (8 total) spent 7 wonderful days on vacation, and thankfully a member of our group found Summer Heights on the web and recommended it. The owner cooked up some very delicious meals (I highly recommend the meal plan), and their recommendations for things to do on the island and surrounding islands were perfect. The views from the house are simply breath taking, we watched the sun rise every morning. I don't think I could ever get sick of that! We will definitely be going back, as the rental for what you get at Summer Heights is as reasonable as it gets!! I am positive that when that time comes I will simply feel like I am coming home!

Summer Heights boasts the best views on Tortola.Visited: November 2008

If you are looking for the place with the best views on the island, Summer Heights is it! There is lots of outdoor living space. They also have a fully stocked bar and even breakfast food in the refrigerator upon arrival.
It's centrally located, yet totally secluded. It is perfect for four couples or a family with kids (like us) with the four master suites. Each kid had their own room. It was also priced right.

Heritage Inn, British Virgin Islands traveler review
This was our best Tortola stay.Visited: December 2008
Posted by karenamp;amp;amp;bru
Having stayed in Tortola in various places over the last ten years, our stay at Heritage Inn was by far the nicest. Breathtaking views and sunsets with cool island breezes (no bugs!) are calling us to return.
It is so convenient to our favorite surf spot in Apple Bay (and other snorkel spots).
There could be a few minor maintenance adjustments (i.e. window cranks not working, pool could have been maintained better). However, they are far outweighed by all the positives.
The on-site dining in the Bananakeet Cafe was fabulous, and we thanked the chef and bartender personally. Chris Washburn did her best at making our stay so comfortable and memorable.
We are looking forward to staying here next year.

We loved this villa. My husband and our two children stayed here for a week. It was the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation I have ever had.
The villa was beautifully decorated, and the views were to die for.
We highly recommend Euphoria - it was just that.

What a great day sail.
Posted by janet@bussellinterio
We had the best day of our trip sailing with Steve on Aristocat. We took the trip to Jost Van Dyke, which included enough time to swim ashore to the Soggy Dollar for infamous PainKillers.
My husband and I left the group and (also on the advice of the captain), and tried Gertrudes right next door to the Soggy Dollar. We think Gertrude's rocks!
We enjoyed great snorkeling, and the crew was wonderful. It was truly worth every penny.

Pusser's is known for their rum and "Painkillers". These truly are great, and there are two restaurants; one in Road Town and the other in Soper's Hole near the marina.
We ate at the one in Road Town, and all enjoyed our food except for the couple who ordered their "famous" mac and cheese. I mean how does one mess up mac and cheese? Well, Pusser's has figured out a way. Order anything else, and I'm sure you will be pleased - just stay away from their mac and cheese.

It has a great setting, but the food is just okay.

This is supposed to be one of the best restaurants on the island. I don't know if we just happened to be here on an "off" night, but the food was okay - just okay. It was not the "wow" we were expecting. We will stick to lunch on the beach at their cafe just across the street next time.

Casa de Miel was in a great location. It was within walking distance to the beach, and not far from restaurants and bars (so long as you don't mind climbing some very steep hills). But then again, the steep hills are part of the charm of Tortola!
The upper level of the villa was the best. We loved the decor and tile work in all of the bathrooms. It was difficult to decide whether to just stay in the pool and look at the bay and beach directly below, or to actually tear ourselves away from the villa and go to the beach.
It was a very convenient drive to the West End via Zion Hill, and was also a quick drive to Road Town.
Mornings on the deck were great for goat watching and listening to all of the roosters. We also enjoyed the evening activity of watching the sailboats moor in the bay while listening to the bo-peep frogs.

Poor management ruined our honeymoon here.Visited: August 2008

Little Dix Bay is a nice enough resort, but there are nicer places to stay with less associated headaches.
We honeymooned at Little Dix Bay in August of 2008, and they made two huge accounting errors with no apology.
First, they overcharged us by $6,000. When we brought this to their attention, no apology was made, but the charge was removed. Three months later, a charge of over $1,000 was posted on our credit card with no explanation. Apparently, when removing the initial charge, their staff made another mistake. Rather than contacting us, they simply charged our card without notice. That was totally unprofessional.
Further, the pool was small, often dirty, and rarely staffed by waitstaff. The waterfront was pleasant, but the daily paper told guests not to go in the water due to jellyfish.
It was not the most plesant experience.

This is a great villa above Cane Garden Bay.Visited: October 2008

My husband and I stayed here with seven friends. This was our second visit to Tortola, and our first time staying at Cielo.
The only thing that concerned me about this villa prior to arrival, was the possible limited view due to the trees. Upon arriving, that concern was quickly put to rest. The view was very very good! We had great view of Cane Garden Bay, Long Bay, etc. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets, as well.
We arrived at the villa, and Allison was there to meet us and give us an orientation. There was rum punch waiting...what a nice touch!
The pool was a little smaller than we expected. However, it was still plenty big enough for us to have a fun pool party one evening.
The five bedrooms were all good, and separate enough for all to have privacy. We stayed in room #5. It was the only one with no AC, and this concerned me at first. However, there were nice breezes, and it was never a problem. We even covered up at night when sleeping, because I was "chilly". It was perfect, really.
The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and other items. Some items were limited like trash bags, paper towels, no dish soap, etc. so we had to buy those things. We didn't have to do that at the previous villa we had stayed in. However, those were minor things, and we will know for next time.
If you have children, there are several windows with no screens, so that would be a big safety issue. I would not have any reservations with staying at Cielo in the future. It was a great villa.

We cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed this villa and Virgin Gorda. The views were spectacular and ever-changing. Also, the villa was beautifully appointed - with all new furniture and appliances in the great room.
This had to be one of our best vacations yet. We're going back!

This place is amazing! The friendly staff makes this one of the nicest villas in the Caribbean.
We were in the villa during Hurrricane Omar, and still had an awesome time. If you get a chance to stay in this luxurious place, please take the chance to relax and tell Martin! Go Boston!

It was about time Virgin Gorda has a wonderful place to stay. It is so relaxing and so gorgeous, with soft frette linens, bulgari indulgement, the dreambed at the private beach park, and the sunset. It is paradise by the beach.

We had an absolutely wonderful week at the Captain's House.
The location and views were perfect. The house had everything we needed.
I would recommend this house to anyone who wants a private setting with breathtaking views. It's also just minutes from two great beaches (Long Bay and Smuggler's Cove).

A Tortola, BVI travel review
I don't recommend Dell's Car Rental.
Posted by sterlingiv
They do not maintain their vehicles. The one I rented broke down shortly after renting it. They gave me a hard time returning it, and charged my card for the rental anyway.
Also, their staff was rude and abusive to me. They even berated my wife with comments. I highly recommend staying as far away from them as possible.

We stayed at Oleander, the smallest of the cottages and loved it! It's in a great location, has wonderful views and complete privacy!
I highly recommend it.

Thank you for making our 30th anniversary trip so wonderful, and for making our first sailing experience such a great vacation.
From sunrise to sunset, we were pampered like kings and queens! Our crew was wonderful, leading us on our adventure to a new paradise location each day. We had such a fabulous time!
