I had a bad experience at the restaurant and the casino. |

I was visiting St. Maarten for a short time. As I was on the way to the French side, I noticed an ad for a five-star buffet at Port de Plaisance for $15. That evening, after a day at the beach, I went to the restaurant which was located inside the casino. I was casually dressed (an old t-shirt, long pants and sandals). There was only a few people eating at the restaurant when I entered. The menu consisted of one choice of soup, salads, and three choices of meat. Beef and fish were served by a guy who only gave me one spoon at a time. Also, the beef was tasteless, and the fish was swimming in some watery sauce. I couldn't tell what the other one was. There was also only one type of dessert (a pie in small pieces). After I had some soup, a bit of salad and beef, I decided to go get some more salad. As I was taking some salad, a man (whom I think was the cook) came out from the kitchen and started to yell at me about how I am not suppose to take so much food! I have never been to a buffet that limited how much food a customer could eat! Service was bare minimum, and they charged 15% for service. They also charged me $4 for a bottle of water that I could have bought at the local grocery for $1 (cold). Later, I spent time at the casino. The time was relatively short because the place was very hot. Also, there were little bugs that bit me (mosquitos and little flies). Finally, some fellows at a slot machine got into a verbal argument with an employee that almost turned into a fight. It was definitely not one of my best experiences. Visitors beware!

I am going back to Oyster Bay for the fourth time in five years. My daughter owns a week, and we try to go at least once a year. This year, my husband and I are taking a couple of friends because I want them to experience this island and the friendly people. The one thing I miss with all the new condos is Mrs. B's on the beach. It was a great place for lunch on the beach. This resort is not for the loud crowd. That's why our family enjoys coming here. We can't wait to see the new additions. Beau Beau's and Big Fish are great places to eat while you are visiting - and you don't even have to have a car. Just relax by the pool or the ocean, and be swept away by pure relaxation, peace, and quiet.

I stayed at Simpson Bay Villas a few years back, and loved every minute of it. I have been trying to find out about renting again, but am having no luck so far. Any one have any suggestions on where to look?

Sunrise Estates was the most beautiful place to stay. We had the most beautiful home and view from every part of the house. The water was nice, and the food was good. Bugsbys was our favorite place to eat. Will visit again, and will stay at Sunrise again. Norma and Milton were the best.

Our stay at the Flamingo was as perfect as anyone could ever ask for. Upon arrival, we were checked in very quickly with such a wonderful greeting staff and team player William Pemberton (Front Desk Manager). I had spoken with him prior, telling of some personal needs for my husband. The complete staff was as friendly and courteous, and were able to fullfill our needs. The resort was very clean, with plenty of space inside the room. Outside, it was breath taking. Everyone was working - cleaning and accommodating their quest with always a "Good Morning". The beds were great - very comfortable and clean. You must understand the ten star hotels are exactly what they are in Buckhead, Georgia (or other cities). This was certainly top notch, and Oliver can welcome you with his kindness and youthful spirit. We met some wonderful property owners, and exchanged future information. I would certainly recommend this resort to any of my friends for comfort and ease from any danger.
