Imagine relaxing on a white sand beach, gazing at miles of ocean as the tropical breezes
urge you to let everything go. If you are looking to get away from the hustle of life,
the islands of Tokelau are the destination for you.
With no cars, banks or capital city, Tokelau is perfect for pretending you are stranded
on a tropical island. With 127 islands, you can explore for days without running into
another person.
Atafu is the smallest and most traditional of Tokelau's three atolls. Get a taste of
true Polynesian culture. Old-style dugout canoes are used for transportation. Spend the
night in a traditional house built from kanava wood.
Find yourself lost in the waters of a crystal lagoon. Lagoon diving is a popular
activity among all of the islands of Tokelau. Nukunonu features the largest lagoon, but
many islands feature smaller, more private lagoons perfect for escaping.
Tokelau is a unique destination. With no pretense of grandeur, the islands are simply
beautiful.
