Kalaekilohana

Located in the historic district of Ka'u on the island of Hawaii, Kalaekilohana is a destination in and of it's own. This award-winning bed and breakfast is breaking new ground as a cultural landmark in the heart of South Hawaii.

Kalaekilohana is 10 miles from the Punalu'u Black Sand Beach and 11 miles from Ka Lae (the Point, also known as South Point. The inn rests on the southern slopes of Mauna Loa, six miles from Naalehu. Complimentary, island-style gourmet breakfasts are served each morning, including local fruits and Ka'u coffee. The library features a great collection of Hawaiian books on a variety of subjects about Hawaii. Hawaiian language hour is on Tuesdays. A variety of classes in the Hawaiian arts are also available.
