Galley Bay Heights Villa #1 is absolutely gorgeous. We’ve rented many beach homes, but this one is special. It is completely open, so you feel like you’re living outside.

One of our concerns was that we weren’t directly on the beach, but it’s an 80-second car ride to park and then walk 100 feet to a beautiful beach. We timed the drive - two chairs and a cooler necessitated a car. Another concern was that there is only one restaurant nearby, and it is an expensive choice. You could drive 12 minutes to St. John’s for dinner, as there are good choices there, but we preferred cooking at the villa while enjoying the spectacular sunset views on the Caribbean.

Shawna & Katia were easy to work with and helpful in every way. Skep, who works at the villas, was the go-to-guy who solved any problem immediately. He is wonderful!

I just had to comment on our recent stay at Galley Bay Heights Villa #1 with my wife and 11 yr old daughter. We’ve been to many villas across the Caribbean over the years, but this one made such a great impression on us we had to comment. We originally wanted to stay at the adjacent villa #25, but it was booked, so we chose #1 which resulted in an equal or even better experience for our size family. We were welcomed with a beautiful drive through the Galley Bay Heights grounds up to our villa parking area. We were greeted there by an impressive overlook of Deep Bay. The view never got old, and was gorgeous even going back and forth to the car during the week. Entering the single floor villa, we were greeted by a spectacular view overlooking Galley Bay Beach. There’s so much more than you can see on the the site photos. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious, with beautiful furnishings. There’s an excellent deck overlook for dining, and the pool and deck are a fantastic size and temp. One of the best features of this villa is the proximity to Galley Bay Beach, a 5-10 minute walk down from the villa. There’s clear blue water with fantastic white sand! The villa’s western island location is great to visit all the special beaches down from Valley Church. You can’t miss Darkwood Beach. These were the top 3 beaches I’ve ever been to, beauty and solitude wise. It was a ten minute drive to the supermarket for provisions. Skep, the on-grounds manager, was there at the drop of a hat and so so helpful. What a bonus! Do not hesitate to book. This was perfect for two couples or a large family. Book it now :) You will not regret it!

Excellent assist and follow up by Shawna, who was exceptional as always. She was responsive within the same day, every time. We would not use anyone else to book our cherished annual Caribbean trips. Shawna is always one step ahead. I hope WhereToStay utilizes Shawna to set expectations for all new travel staff coming aboard.

Compared to our stay a year earlier at Victoria Villa in Sint Maarten, this was a big disappointment. We had to ask for some chairs to relax in on the deck. We’ll had been provided with a table and eight straight-backed dining chairs. There was one small wooden sidetable which was split with exposed nails. The covers on the pool furniture were torn and mildewed. The cushions were wet and unusable. Cane webbing on one of the loungers was damaged and unusable. I could go on but I will stop.
How often do you inspect the properties which you rent? This property cost more than Victoria Villa but was definitely not as well appointed.
We were very pleased with the local property manager, Skep, who did his best for us with his limited resources. He did bring us some deck furniture which he scavenged from another property.
