Know Before You Go...

Your group of 10 will immediately fall in love with Mahogany Hill Villa, if not for the outside gardens, gazebo, and pool deck (all with outstanding ocean views), then for the spacious interior with beautifully ornate decor and amenities that with make you want to never leave. The house has five bedrooms, two of which are located just off of either side of the pool deck, and all rooms feature fantastic views and some of the most well appointed en-suite bathrooms I've seen (the master's even has a jet tub). Find peace by the property's fountains or while you take a dip in either of the two pools. The house is nestled within 4 acres of land--privacy is no issue--and with five staff members including the loveliest cook, housekeeper, and gardeners, you are completely taken care of for your entire vacation period. Plus Mahogany Hill is a part of Tryall, so you have an entire club at your disposal. Take the golf cart down to the water, or spend a day playing golf and tennis. There is no wrong way to spend your time here.

Exotic Gardens and private rooms with spectacular golf course views

Mahogany Hill Villa is a dream house for those who want an exotic garden full of orchids and beautiful bougainvillea and with simply the best view at Tryall. A recent guest said simply “Paradise found.”

Mahogany Hill villa was built with privacy in mind. No corridors of rooms. All rooms are well spaced and independent of each other. The View over the golf course to Round Hill and Montego Bay is nothing short of spectacular. And at night, the atmospherics produce a myriad of flickering multi-colored lights.

The house site is independent within its 4 acres, so there are no neighbors to worry about. All rooms have the finest sheets, many of which are hand embroidered in Thailand, and all are 600-thread count. The house is air conditioned, and there are cooling fans in each bedroom. Flat screen TVs and Bose ipod docking stations can be found in every room. King size beds belong in 4 of the 5 bedrooms with a twin in the 5th that converts. That bedroom is opposite the Master.

The Cook is a delight and can make any dish you require and a few you have not thought of at all. There are 5 household staff members. Then there are 3 gardeners to ensure the pools are always clean and the garden tidy. Pool towels are from Restoration Hardware and house towels (new every year) are from Frette. All towels and sheets are washed daily.

The smallest of details are priority to us at Mahogany Hill. There is a serene Balinese fountain to greet you on entering the house, which a Prince of Ubud sold me many years ago. It came from a Palace, which had long been deserted. After leaving the fountain, enter the walkway to the entrance of the house through a garden of night flowering jasmine, trees of orchids, bougainvillea and exotic plants. In front of you is an elegant French marble fountain surrounded by water lilies.

As you walk through the entrance, there is an enormous teak Kitchen on your right. Ahead are a pair of Burmese solid bronze Temple Guardians now commanding the entrance to the house. While walking down towards the dining Gazebo, take in the stunning view of Montego Bay. On the right are 3 teak Balinese wall sculptures encircling an English terracotta Blashfied fountain of Dolphins and Griffins which gently plays its water into the surrounding pool. Passion fruits hang down over the fountain and the birds sing a happy song of peace and love.

As you leave this paradise, the upper pool opposite the sitting room comes into view. This room is large and spacious and is filled with Cuban art that is placed around Burmese and Balinese sculptures. It features a hexagonal Italian scagliola marble table with surrounding chairs and sofas.

As you walk up the steps from the sitting area, turn left and there is charming room with a terrace. Just across the walk way is the Master again with a terrace. Both rooms are warm and comfortable, showcasing the most beautiful art on the walls. The Master is spacious and boasts a jet bath in the open bathroom.

Explore the sitting gazebo, complete with an ipod dock and bose speakers, charming comfortable Balinese water iris chairs with hand made Thai cushions, and wooden Balinese fruits and a fantastic Balinese fish sculptures that fill one wall hewn from solid limestone.

The pool deck is a few steps down from the gazebo. On the left is a guest room, and all French doors open to the magnificent view from the house. We call this the Blue room. And across the 65,000 gallon pool is another guest room. Again, the room is elegant with a marble bathroom and fantastic views.

Many people love the downstairs room, which is large and modern in look. French doors open and, as usual, the views are breath taking.

You have to experience the beauty, peace, and tranquility of Mahogany Hill to believe it.

Finally, at the end of the day as the sun is setting, you can enjoy a mixed cocktail amidst and light the candles. Then as night falls, enjoy dinner by candlelight with delicious food around an elegant, Burmeses teak table. The setting and meal provides you with everything needed for sweet, sweet dreams.
