You will find it hard to tear yourself away from this peaceful retreat. The views from the hill are mesmerizing, and the trade winds will lull you to sleep when you stretch out in the hammock or on a lounger by the pool. For a true island experience, be sure to take advantage of the outdoor showers--it's a very freeing adventure. You can also make friends with Rolex, the estate cat. Former guests are enthusiastic about their experiences here; a typical comment about this villa is, "Tara is a great villa with fabulous views-good choice." For a taste of what they're talking about, on your first evening at the villa head to the hot tub with a glass of wine just as the sun goes dow--chances are that's where you'll spend every evening thereafter.
Designed in the West Indian style, just-completed Tara sits at the end of a secluded neighborhood road. Overlooking sea views and situated to capture the trade winds, this four-pavilion property is arranged hillside in a private garden setting.
From the parking area, a staircase leads up to Tara's terrace and to the pool and hot tub. Tara's first pavilion, on the west side of the pool and terrace, is outfitted as an air-conditioned king suite with a four-poster canopy bed, TV and DVD player, a large balcony and an alfresco stone shower. The larger main pavilion on the opposite side of the pool and terrace comprises the Great Room where guests can snuggle into the overstuffed couches and watch favorite TV programs or listen to the wide choice of music through the Bose surround-sound system.
Just outside the Great Room is a breezy covered outdoor living area overlooking ocean vistas. This wraparound veranda also borders the gourmet kitchen, which opens to the pool terrace. Here you'll find a thatched tiki bar complete with icemaker, a small fridge for cold drinks, and a fully stocked honor bar, perfect for shady relaxation. Adjoining the Great Room on the east side is a covered garden pavilion with a fountain, set for dining with views through arched windows of the sea beyond.
Just off the dining terrace is the third pavilion with an office equipped with a computer with DSL line and a printer/scanner/fax. An extra twin bed and a double sofa-bed shares space within the study. The adjoining bathroom then connects directly to Tara's second air-conditioned queen bedroom suite, which opens to a private deck and small garden just outside.
Tara's fourth pavilion, an air-conditioned king suite with its own balcony, is just to the northernmost side and has an alfresco stone shower.
Done up in Caribbean colors and accented with cool tile floors, brick, and by native stone walls and planters surrounding tropical flora, this island-style haven's interiors flow gracefully out to the tableau just beyond its archways and doors. Tara is a vacation villa for family and friends.
