Know Before You Go...

With all of the retractable and glass sliding doors throughout the villa, you can make your stay as open or as closed as you want. Either way, you get a phenomenal view at Villa Maya.  The four bedrooms are spread throughout the home with the master bedroom connected directly to the pool deck and terrace–privacy is no issue for a large group.  Even the dining area and kitchen are connected directly to the deck and have awesome views of the water and nearby islands.  Other Maya perks are the outdoor tub and shower, and the generous amount of water equipment like kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkeling gear, but the best part is how close it is to the beaches at Smuggler’s Cove–the walk is so short.

Stunning Views

Villa Maya sits just an easy stroll behind one of the BVI’s finest white sand beaches at Smuggler’s Cove and provides stunning views of the secluded area and beyond to the islands of Jost Van Dyke, Green Cay, and Sandy Spit. Watching the sun melt into the warm Caribbean Sea from the Master bedroom or from the pool deck of this brand new, contemporary, Caribbean home; add a Pina Colada to the relaxation, it’s a heavenly experience!

Beautifully nestled at the bottom of the mountain in the upscale Belmont Estate, this stunning new home is just a two-minute stroll from one of the Caribbean’s most exquisite beaches at Smuggler’s Cove. This stunning beach and its crystal clear, turquoise waters are protected by a reef, which makes for calm waters and excellent snorkeling. It’s exactly what most would picture when daydreaming about an idyllic island beach. There is nothing between this delightful home and the sea except palm trees and powdery white sand.  And there is total privacy as Villa Maya is cleverly sited on a large lot amongst landscaped tropical gardens.

Designed by Tim Peck, Chairman of the Caribbean’s stand out architecture firm, OBM International, the owners and their team simply have everything right in this outstanding vacation villa. Completed in November 2013, this breath taking home successfully blends of contemporary European styling and West Indian charm to create the right balance of indoor/outdoor living. A touch of the tropics combined with some European flair work well to set this Villa apart. The exquisite and unique collection of artwork including paintings and sculptures throughout Villa Maya has all been hand picked by the owners, and they each provide Villa Maya with additional flair and style. Villa Maya boasts the most extensive collection of toys for the water of any home in Tortola, which includes snorkel gear, kayaks, stand up paddleboards, and more, all provided to ensure that your stay at Villa Maya is as fun-filled, exciting, and relaxing and you want it to be! If we missed anything, let us know and we’ll do our best to provide it.

Enter Villa Maya along its winding driveway and carry on to its inviting main entranceway. Walk through the front door, and you are immediately greeted by a simply breathtaking vista, encompassing the whole bay with sailboats drifting by and the other islands and ocean beyond. The spacious pool deck is designed to wrap around the villa, fit with comfortable lounging chairs.  The contemporary, totally equipped kitchen is located just off the deck, and there are poolside dining areas on the deck as well.  Even the spacious master bedroom and bathroom suite that offers fantastic views connects directly to the pool terrace.

A short flight of stairs leads to two equally generous guest bedrooms, both with their own en-suite bathrooms and private terraces, one with its own outdoor shower, once again well designed to offer dramatic views of the bay but complete privacy.

Below the main level is a fourth bedroom, furnished with oversized bunk beds and ideal for kids but large enough to sleep adults if need be.

Villa Maya, British Virgin Islands villa review

Villa Maya was absolutely exquisite. My husband and I stayed for five nights and had the time of our life. The views from the balconies of of Smugglers Cove and Jost Van Dyke are beyond anything I’ve ever seen before. The property is extremely private and is kept very clean. One of the best parts is the short walk down to the beach, it probably takes 3 minutes tops. We were there in the off season and there was practically no one at Smugglers cove, it was like having a private beach. There is a ferry from Frenchman Caye a 15 trip to Jost Van Dyke that I truly recommend to go to White bay beach for a day. Road Town is apx 30 minutes away. It’s an easy drive to many restaurants in the west end of the island. I will say that the road the property is on is a dirt road, definitely recommend 4W drive. Shawna was extremely helpful with recommendations prior to our trip and Katie was phenomenal with assisting us while we were on the island. All and all the trip and the villa exceeded our wildest expectations. It was the perfect amount of exclusivity and paradise. I never wanted to leave and can’t wait to come back!

Working with Shawna and was Fantastic!
