Guana Island, a private island in the British Virgin Island chain, is nearly as natural today as it was a thousand years ago. A nature preserve and wildlife sanctuary, it has a large collection of tropical plants and animals. Consisting of only 850 acres of land, Guana Island is made up of beaches, forests, crystal clear waters, and very little else.
The water sports are excellent here, of course. Snorkeling, diving among the coral reefs, and kayaking and sailing are all popular on Guana Island. And the old standbys of sunbathing, beachcombing, and just strolling along the beach are always there for the taking. Because there is so little intrusion from the modern world, and the island is so gorgeous, it makes an excellent backdrop for a beach wedding. There will be few, if any, uninvited curiosity seekers craning their necks to see the ceremony, and the weather on Guana Island is almost always perfect.
