Andara Villa, St. John villa review
Location, location, location. We have been renting in St John for 40 years. This is the first time we stayed in the East End. While it is a distance to the markets (it just takes a little more planning), Andara more than makes up for that with the peaceful and quiet surroundings. The villa is absolutely stunning as are the views. It is well appointed and well maintained. The photos accurately depict the villa. However, anyone renting this villa should be aware of the extremely steep driveway entrance. If you are not comfortable driving the St John roads this may not be the place for you as the grade into the drive is so steep that you are not able to see where you are going as you turn in from the road. It does get easier as time goes by but beware. Others have commented on the stairs down to the villa but they are well lit and have good hand support. One other note is that cell service with Verizon winds up with international roaming as one connects with cell towers on Tortola. Verizon is aware of the problem and has indicated that they will remove the extra charges that apply for international usage. Don’t know about the other US carriers. We would not hesitate to stay at Andara again as we loved every second of our stay

We love St. John and have stayed there many times. We have always stayed in the Coral Bay Area. Andara Villa is located on the east end of the island about 15 minutes further from Coral Bay. The location is pretty secluded and it’s so quiet & peaceful…all you hear and see is nature and a beautiful view of Tortola. At first we thought it was a little too far from everything, but soon realized the benefits outweighed those concerns. Andara Villa is so beautiful! We had three couples and it was perfect. Everyone had their own master and a great view! The kitchen was well equipped, the outside space was comfortable with plenty of room for all of us, there were more than enough beach chairs, and the pool was awesome. This villa was built with visitor comfort in mind. The beds were great, the bathrooms were roomy, there’s a half-bath outside so you have easy access from the pool, there’s a nice outdoor kitchen area with grill, and the pool has bench seating in it…such a nice addition for those hot days when you want to be outside and still be comfortable. There is also plenty of seating in the shade which is a big plus. They also have a washer & dryer, along with blow dryers in each bathroom, beach bags and beach towels. So there is no need to overpack. The driveway is a little scary, but that’s just St. John! There are about 30 steps from the driveway to the villa, so it was a little tricky with the luggage, but totally worth it! We will be going back again!!

Best Villa ever in St. John

Our family has had the privilege of visiting St. John for many years, and Villa Andara was our nicest home! At every turn you see the excellence in quality and design from the stonework to the kitchen to the pool to the beautiful bedroom suites! Extremely well appointed and maintained. The house management was very attentive with a few minor issues (fuse needed to be replaced on hot tub).
When we return to “The East End” again, we will stay at Villa Andara.
Shawna and her staff were the best! We have worked with many property managers on St. John and “Where to Stay” were by far the most helpful assisting with all travel and accommodation issues. The staff was pleasant to work with, and on top of every detail - even recommending a private chef experience at our Villa.

Another amazing stay in Villa Andara!

This was our second time staying at Villa Andara. The first time it was just my husband and I, and this time we brought our whole family with us! Pictures truly don’t do this place justice. The house itself is so beautiful and high quality, and the views are unbelievable! You are tucked away all by yourself and you feel like you have the whole mountain to yourself (there is only 1 other house near you, but we hardly even noticed, we never saw or heard them). You are definitely a good ways from most beaches and from Cruz Bay, but we knew that going into it. I think staying out on the East End is worth it for the privacy and remoteness. I can’t see us renting a different villa when we come back to St. John - Villa Andara is just too perfect!
Once again, we had a fantastic experience booking with WhereToStay. Shawna and her team were so helpful and kept everything very organized. They really cater to you in a way that other rental agencies don’t.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about this villa. If you are ok with the location, this is a perfect place. The owners left no stone unturned. It was so quiet and peaceful, and had a fantastic view. Everything from the outdoor living space to the kitchen to the bedrooms was impressive. While we were only a couple, there is enough privacy for 3 couples. We were happy to beach it ‘til lunch, and spend the rest of the day at the house. In our opinion don’t let the location scare you unless you want to visit Cruz Bay every day. You are close to beaches, some restaurants and grocery stores. We will definitely be back. Thank you Shawna for matching this place with us. It was exactly what we were looking for.

Peace and Tranquility
Andara Villa, St. John villa review
My wife, our two children (ages 13 and 10), and I stayed at Andara the last week of July. We found the house to be very peaceful and secluded which is what we are looking for while on vacation. Our children really enjoyed the pool and waterfall. The kitchen was well equipped, and the kitchen and great room had plenty of room. The two bedrooms in the main house were on different levels and separated by a second living room area that was under the dining room. The views of Tortola were tremendous. This was our first time staying on the East End and we were a little concerned about the distance, but the home is only about 10 minutes from Coral Bay and 20 minutes from Francis and Maho Bay beaches. The road leading to the home after turning off of 10 was excellent. I would highly recommend a 4WD as the driveway is very steep turning in off of the road. We originally booked Saturday through Saturday and our only complaint would be that the homeowners were unwilling to refund any of our money after a family obligation came up and we had to return home on Thursday. Overall we enjoyed our FIVE night stay at Andara!

Stunning Villa and views are breathtaking

This Villa was absolutely beautiful, from the beautiful decor, gorgeous outdoor areas and views. We enjoyed the different birds, lots of butterflies and donkeys and goats along the way to the villa. The driveway was quite a challenge to get out of so we parked at the top of the driveway and walked down the stairs. The drive into town was about 40 minutes, but the grocery store and Skinny Legs was only a 20 minute drive.
We have worked with Shawna for a couple of years now and she is great to work with.

Worth Every Penny
Andara Villa, St. John villa review
We celebrated our 30th Anniversary at Andara, along with our very dear friends. Our first visit to St John was for our honeymoon and there have been 8 other visits in between. We have rented many lovely homes, but this will be only the second worthy of a repeat visit. The home is comfortable, welcoming and is even better than pictured.
Shawna was on top of the trip and provided great service.

The villa is absolutely beautiful with views to match. The outside area with the pool and the covered seating area where quite enjoyable. The architecture of the villa was beautifully Caribbean.
Our suggestions for improvement would include: fixing the range top so that all six burners work; the pod a/c was lacking as was the water pressure in the shower, especially since we were instructed to turn off the a/c everyday when we left. The water pressure and the a/c in the other two bedrooms seemed to work fine. Lastly, the kitchen knives needed sharpening and the cook/bake ware needs to be replaced. The outside bar area really needed a mini fridge but the ice maker was 10 stars!
Would definitely recommend this villa!!
Shawna was fabulous!! She was very attentive to our needs and was always quick to respond to our questions. She kept us informed of all the things we needed to do and to update the portal. We very much appreciated all of her help. The cabbie she suggested was the best we’ve had and we have been visiting for many years. Would love to work with Shawna again!

Our time at Andara Villa was amazing! The privacy and views were outstanding. The outdoor area was incredible ....pool temperature was perfect, living room included a tv and it also included a half bath off the patio. The kitchen was stocked with everything you may need including blender, waffle maker and plenty of spices. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also beautiful. We would recommend Andara to anyone visiting the island.
From start to finish, Betsy was amazing, responsive, kind and funny. She works diligently to ensure you have a perfect vacation. I have already recommended her to others! Both Betsy and Villa Andara will exceed your expectations.

My husband and I stayed at Villa Andara on the East End of St. John, and it was a fantastic experience! It is hard to put into words just how incredible this villa is (pictures really don’t do it justice!) Everything about the house is top notch and so luxurious. The house itself is beautiful, but the outdoor area and the view is to die for! We spent almost all of our time out by the pool and hot tub or under the covered sitting area. We couldn’t get enough of the view out to Tortola. The house had all of the amenities that you would need, and the management is very responsive. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Shawna was extremely helpful and responsive. WhereToStay made the whole booking/getting to St. John experience a breeze. They give you everything you need to know about getting to the island and have great recommendations once you’re there.

Great villa. Amazing. Breathtaking. It was really everything we hoped it could be and more. Being on the eastern end of the island was interesting when it came to logistics due to the distance from town but we managed. We knew going in it was a little ways out there but the roads made it go slower. VERY steep driveway. It was interesting getting used to it to say the least. Comfortable surroundings great views and pretty water.
Andrew kept us up to date and on track for our vacation.
