WhereToStay.com's Review
This playful villa is perfect for the whole family. Kids will love exploring the swimming pool deck and its wooden bridge, and the adults will enjoy the view, sitting above the Cinnamon Bay rainforest. The nice thing about the 15-minute drive to Cruz Bay is that the last half-mile is a bumpy dirt road that keeps wandering tourists from wandering too close. The inside of Cinnamon Ridge Villa is comfortable and colorful, and the outside view is of the tropical fauna and the architectural design of the villa itself. Plus, if you like water sports, equipment is provided.
Villa Description
Like its neighboring villa, Peace & Plenty, Cinnamon Ridge is an expanded design that extends more than 150 feet from the house to the pool deck. All the living areas and bedrooms are under one roof, with the large pool and sundeck on the west (sunny) side of the villa in an ultra private location.
Guests approach the house from below and drive up to the parking area on the upper level of this two-level villa. A tropical walkway leads to the main entrance which opens to the Great Room that contains the living, dining, and kitchen areas.
The 700-square-foot living room has tiled floors and cathedral ceilings with skylights and is dominated by a 20-foot wall of glass that provides gorgeous views from everywhere in the room. The comfortable rattan upholstered furniture seats 10-12. Entertainment is provided by a cable color TV/VCR/DVD and stereo/cassette.
The kitchen is fully equipped with two refrigerators, a stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, ice maker, blender, toaster oven, coffeemaker, china, cookware, dishes and utensils. There are two washer/dryers on the lower level.
A tiled bar/counter separates the kitchen from the dining room which has a glass topped rattan table that seats 6-8. A sliding glass door leads to the covered main dining deck with a teak table that seats 10-14, while the west dining deck seats 6-8 on teak furniture and the table on the pool deck seats 6-8.
There are two bedroom/baths on the upper level on either side of the Great Room, and three more bedroom/baths on the lower level which are accessed by interior and exterior stairs. Both the upper and lower levels have decks that run the entire length of the house, while on the west side of the villa a large sundeck, waterfall, lagoon pool, and hot tub are bordered by tropical gardens.
Each of the 5 spacious bedrooms (4 kings, 1 set of twins) has some unique features, but all enjoy terrific views. All also have screened sliding glass doors that open to gentle breezes, and cozy private decks that are perfect for evening cocktails or tranquil Caribbean mornings. All bedrooms are equipped with a cable color TV/VCR, and all have a private tiled bath and shower.
With its 45-foot lagoon pool and a 4-6 person hot tub, the 1200-square-foot pool deck is the recreation center of this villa. The deck is carved from subtropical forest and opens to views of green islands floating in the waters. The waterfall, waving palms, and songbirds are the only sounds guests will hear in this quiet and peaceful location.
