Heritage Inn - Description

Description
The Heritage Inn is just what you want if you are looking for the total getaway. The Inn is located on the hilltop of a sleepy village: Carrot Bay, on the north side of Tortola. These comfortable apartments offer probably the most breathtaking views on the island: "voted Best sunset view in the BVI!" 180 degrees east and west and overlooking Jost Van Dyke, Sandy & Green Cays and three Tortola bays.

This locally owned Inn is quaint and quiet. Each suite has a private view-facing balcony and is furnished with a fully equipped kitchen, living room and AC king-size bed in bedrooms. Three suites have two bedrooms for family or friendly vacationers. Six, clean and comfortable, one bedroom suites also offer enough space to just forget your cares and hang out for a week. The views are so beautiful that most guests just "gape" for the first few days. In the summer the sun sets directly over the water. It is so beautiful that the locals go up for sunset cocktails at the BananaKeet Cafe on the poolside veranda to watch the sun setting over the awesome horizon.

Most guests never leave the Heritage but to explore the nearby islands on day sails, snorkeling trips or beach hopping on Tortola. The Heritage gives you the place to catch up on your sleep, reading, letter writing and beach walking. Leave your cares at home. There is, of course, nightlife in Cane Garden Bay (the next beach over) if you need a night out!!

The Heritage Inn awaits your visit with warm wecoming from your hosts Christina, Alfredo & Crew. Also, of course to greet you are the mascot pets 'Bozo' & 'Dipsy'.

I stayed at the Heritage Inn for eight nights, and it was outstanding. I felt like family from the moment I arrived and met Kris and her staff.

The room was big, and felt like my own apartment in paradise. The views from the room were breathtaking at all times of day. The sunsets were amazing, and happy hour drinks and the sunset shots at the bar were always a great way to spend the evening.

The food at Bananakeet Cafe was so delicious I ate there six nights. Try the Jerk pork chops - you won't be disappointed. I would and hope to stay here again. You can spend more and get less in Tortola, but the Heritage Inn was the right choice for accommodation.

I stayed here with a couple of buddies in one of the two-bedroom suites. The rooms were spacious. It was exactly what we were looking for.

We had a huge balcony with sweeping views of the water and the other islands. It was not the Ritz, but I liked much more.

The staff was very nice, too.

Having stayed in Tortola in various places over the last ten years, our stay at Heritage Inn was by far the nicest. Breathtaking views and sunsets with cool island breezes (no bugs!) are calling us to return.

It is so convenient to our favorite surf spot in Apple Bay (and other snorkel spots).

There could be a few minor maintenance adjustments (i.e. window cranks not working, pool could have been maintained better). However, they are far outweighed by all the positives.

The on-site dining in the Bananakeet Cafe was fabulous, and we thanked the chef and bartender personally. Chris Washburn did her best at making our stay so comfortable and memorable.

We are looking forward to staying here next year.

We stayed at Heritage Inn for two nights in early April after chartering a catamaran for a week. This was our sixth charter, and we now have a new tradition -- Heritage Inn for two-three nights after the charter!

Chris and everyone at Heritage Inn were great. They made us feel like we were part of the family. The view was outstanding, and the food at Bannakeet was superb!

My kids loved it (9,7,5). We spent the day at the beach, and the kids enjoyed the pool while we enjoyed happy hour. We ate dinner both nights at the Bannakeet - delicious. We hated to leave.

Our room was huge, and perfect for our family. Everything was clean. Again, the view can't be beat! I recommend the Heritage Inn for couples, families - anyone. Just don't take my room when I want to go back!
