Rockhouse Hotel - Description

Hotel Description

Rockhouse is a boutique hotel stretching across the cliffs of Pristine Cove in Negril. The resort, nestled amongst eight acres of tropical lush gardens, boasts a 60-foot cliff-top horizon pool and three award winning restaurants overlooking the water. Thatched roofed villas with private sun-bathing decks perch on the cliff's edge, and throughout the property, ladders and stairs carved into the rock lead down to easy water access for swimming and snorkeling on the reef.

Rockhouse has thirty-four air-conditioned rooms providing all the comforts of a boutique hotel in a natural Jamaican environment. Eight Premium Villas, twelve Villas, five Studios and nine Standard rooms are built from timber, stone and thatch and designed to exist in harmony with the jungle-like garden and volcanic rock of the Hotel's eight acres. All rooms have a private furnished balcony or terrace area.

A newly constructed Spa, has a philosophy that is a simple, holistic approach to well-being, health and happiness. Spa treatments are undertaken "on-the-rocks" in the cliff-edge Massage Cabana, at the Caribbean Drench hut, inside the eight room garden spa, or can be arranged in the privacy of your guest room. The spa treatment menu, developed exclusively for Rockhouse and using natural Caribbean products, includes beauty and holistic therapies, buffs and scrubs, wraps, and a full range of massage therapies. A favorite treatment is the Blue Mountain Coffee Scrub. This includes Blue Mountain coffee blended with orange, cinnamon, nutmeg, a hint of vanilla, and a good helping of brown sugar. It is an ideal detoxifying and exfoliating scrub.

Classes of Hatha Yoga, Iyengar style are conducted daily in our Yoga Pavillion directly overlooking the Caribbean Sea and with views to the crystal blue horizon. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced yogi, this class is open to all levels. Classes have been structured to allow a beginner to benefit safely from basic postures, while challenging the most advanced with greater flexibility and strength.

Rockhouse is home to three of Negril's most talked about restaurants; the Rockhouse Restaurant & Bar, Pushcart Restaurant & Rum Bar, and the Pool Grill & Bar. The Rockhouse Restaurant features new Jamaican cuisine, a lighter, modern interpretation of classic Jamaican cooking. In 2009, the Rockhouse introduced the Pushcart Restaurant & Rum Bar located next door at the Pirate's Cave, offering guests an opportunity to enjoy traditional Jamaican street food and authentic home cooking while sampling the Caribbean's finest rums. At the Pool Bar & Grill there is a luncheon menu of jerk chicken, seafood and burgers all prepared on an open grill and featuring the Pool Grill's famous jerk mayonnaise. All three restaurants are perched cliff side - reach out and you can almost touch Negril's spectacular sunset. The vibe is always laid back; you'll find that bare feet are more common than dress shoes.

Rockhouse Hotel provides excellent service and food. They also have a great infinity pool.

In addition, a percentage of money goes back into the community. The foundation just built a library in Negril.

I also love the restaurant renovations, and the staff is great.

We just got back home. We really miss this place. Friends treated us to the standard room we shared with them, and we had a blast.

The room was clean, and the staff was so nice and very helpful. Everything was always tidy throughout the pathways. It was like paradise! Coffee at the restaurant in the morning was the best.

They also recommended Famious Vincent to Snorkeling. The food was great. Try lunch down by the pool bar - to die for! Then, of course, there's the sunset! Wow!

I've been to every island in the Caribbean, but never to Jamaica. I always thought Jamaica was the place that most people went, and it was too crowded. I was most definitely wrong.

Negril was different. It was like Paradise. I stayed in a villa, and I have never been so relaxed in all my life. The food was unbelievable, and the service was incredible.

I promised myself to come back every November. It's my little piece of Heaven on earth.
