You are viewing the finest villas on St. Lucia. You can also switch to view the hotels on St. Lucia

If your dream vacation includes lots of variety, both in scenery and activities, then St. Lucia has it. The island is well-known for its changing landscape that includes the towering Pitons, black and white sand beaches, volcanoes, and rainforests. There’s also a healthy sprinkling of bustling city life, so whatever your interests, there’s something for you when you rent a villa in St. Lucia. Use the information here to help you as you plan your trip to this diverse island.
Why St. Lucia?
|
The first thing visitors to St. Lucia will notice is how exotically green it is. The 238-square-mile island is dotted by protected parklands that preserve its lush foliage, which serves as home to parrots, wild birds and a range of four-legged critters that would rather avoid human contact.
Topographically speaking, St. Lucia resembles nearby Dominica in its mountainous, volcanic appearance. In fact, its two most widely known landmarks are Les Pitons, twin mountain peaks that drop dramatically to the water's edge near Anse des Pitons on the island's west coast. The site is beautiful and alluring.
The island has been occupied by a number of European invaders, but the influence of the French is still most deeply felt today, in the names of its cities, towns and bays, in the architecture still evident today and in the French-inflected patois spoken by islanders here. English, however, is spoken at all the major hotels and in island restaurants.
One of the island's main attractions is the Sulphur Springs Volcano, where visitors can get up close to bubbling pools of lava and steaming sulfurous spouts. Another popular site is Diamond Waterfall and Mineral Baths, where visitors can splash in the sulphur-infused waters or take pictures of the lovely falls. Nearly every type of water sport -- water skiing, snorkeling, windsurfing and the like -- is offered here, either by hotels or local operators. Diving is a very popular pastime for visitors, and the west coast is most commonly the choice because of its calmer waters. Similarly, most hotels are located on the west coast. Although a few more budget-oriented inns and small hotels are located directly in the capital city of Castries, the great majority tend to be located on or very near the beach.
Visitors should be aware that long drives are part of the deal with a St. Lucia vacation; the roads do not provide quick, direct access from Vigie or Hewanorra airports, located at either end of the island. Hotel guests are advised to stay out of Castries on cruise ship arrival days, as the narrow streets are a mob scene and not fit for man nor beast!
Hotel types run the gamut, from sophisticated hideaways with spectacular views or tiny places known only by the cognoscenti to more commercial inclusive hotels and the like. In addition, vacationers who really want to get away from everyone can choose some off-the-beaten-track places to stay, such as villas, private homes and tiny inns.
Nature lovers, divers and those who want to experience an exotic Caribbean island with still many of the modern conveniences of home will find St. Lucia to far exceed their expectations.
Like many islands in the Caribbean, St. Lucia was inhabited long before the Europeans arrived. Arawak Indians had settled in St. Lucia about 2,000 years ago. The second wave of settlers were the warlike Carib Indians who had pretty much removed the Arawaks by 800AD. They called the island "Hewanorra" . The island was not referred to as St. Lucia until the late 1500's.
In 1746, the French established the first official settlement in St. Lucia - Soufriere. They built more towns and sugar plantations over the next 40-50 years and prospered with cheap, imported slave labor. In 1814, the island changed hands. The abolition of slavery in 1838 by the English Parliament was the beginning of the end for the sugar industry in St. Lucia.
Indentured labour from India arrived in the 1880's to alleviate the chronic agricultural labour shortages, and many of them settled permanently. However, it could not stop the overall decline of the industry and by the early 1960's the sugar industry had totally disappeared.
After the Second World War, St. Lucia sought increasing autonomy in a strive for total independence. St. Lucia became fully independent on February 22, 1979. It remains a member of the British Commonwealth.

La Bagatelle Villa, villa review Visited: June 2011
Posted by
My wife and I stayed in La Bagatelle for our honeymoon, and we were extremely pleased with the villa and our stay in general.
I wasn't quite sure how the view would be from the villa [which was one of my main interests] as it was tough to find pictures. However, the moment we arrived at the villa, I was absolutely blown away. The view of the Pitons and the ocean was breathtaking from La Bagatelle. In addition, La Bagatelle sits just off the main road to the Anse Chastenet resort and Jade Mountain.
Because all beaches are public, we would drive down to the beach [less than five minutes] and spend the day there snorkeling and lounging. We even enjoyed dinner at the Anse Chastenet beach restaurant one evening.
You will definitely want/need a car if you are going to stay here. Most of the activities around the island will require some kind of transportation to get to.
We decided to rent. While the roads were a little nerve racking at first, slow and steady ended up working just fine for us.
The house keeper was nice and cleaned just about every day for us. We thought she would prepare more meals, but ended up not finding a "menu" until more than half-way through. However, she did have the fridge and cabinets fully stocked for us ahead of time, so we had plenty of options for food each day.
The bugs did like to come out and play at night, but we wore bug spray and used the nets for the beds at night. Once we learned that was the best way to go, we didn't really have many problems.
Overall, this place was fantastic, and it was so much less expensive than staying at a resort which would be so much farther from the mountains.

Tamarind House, villa review Visited: March 2012
Posted by lshak
We spent a week at Tamarind House in St Lucia. The villa was absolutely immaculate, spacious, well-appointed, and offered the most beautiful views in every direction! We couldn't have chosen a better villa.
The staff was great, too. They were very professional, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The chefs prepared such delicious meals for us. We especially enjoyed the homemade coconut chips, and gelato.
The roads were a bit rough. A four-wheel-drive auto is recommended for good reason. The nearby beach was within walking distance, and we used our return climb to the villa as an aerobic workout each day!
Tamarind House was phenomenal!

Crystals, hotel review Visited: March 2012
Posted by Remi
This beautiful little hotel is perched on the hillside with breathtaking views and delightful rooms. Martin and Monica, the owners, built this hotel and have made it unique with its decor and hospitality.
The organized dinners consist of tasty local food in a beautiful setting with colorful decor in an outdoor restaurant. Try the rum punch - it's fantastic (and really makes you dance!).
The breakfast is amazing - coconut pancakes, fresh fruit from the garden, eggs, etc.
If you are a nature lover and want to experience the real Caribbean, this is the place to come. This hotel is far from all the typical touristy hotels and give you a real sense of "getting away from it all".

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort & Spa in St. Lucia, hotel review Visited: February 2012
Posted by jenbaun
We recently vacationed in St. Lucia for our honeymoon. We were here for five weeks, staying at a different resort each week (including all three Sandals resorts).
Our first two weeks were absolutely amazing at little local non all-inclusive places. Then came our third week at Sandals La Toc - it was an absolute nightmare.
Let me start by saying that it took us years to save for this trip, as it was so long. Also, we really do not have extra money, so we are not high class picky people. We are actually the complete opposite.
I'm also going to say that we understand stuff happens - and that's okay. We would normally understand and are usually pretty easy going about when things go wrong occasionally. Sandals is supposed to be a five-star resort. After you've read my review, you can be the judge whether it truly is!
The check out time at our other hotel was at 11 am, and check in time at Sandals was at 4 pm. We decided to show up anyways, and completely understood that our room would not be ready yet. We also knew that the tour of the property would not be until 5 pm when all the guests were able to arrive.
Our room was ready at two. They showed us to the room, and it almost looked like what I paid for. It was ground floor, but had a living room in one room and a bedroom in another. It was very spacious, but a little dark and dreary as the furniture was really out dated. Also, half the lights did not even work.
We had actually booked (according to the web site) a second floor villa suite, with a four-post mahogany king size bed, a sitting area, and all rooms overlooking the gardens. This room was actually just outside of the security gate!
It was small, like a closet. There was no sitting area at all. It also had a double bed, and the blankets smelled burnt. The balcony did not look out to the gardens, but faced another person's suite and their pool. By this time we were so tired and just wanted to go to sleep, so we say we will deal with it in the morning.
However, there was our own little pool right out the balcony door which we did not expect, so that was fine. Within minutes, we heard this noise coming from the bathroom, and found that the ceiling was leaking. We went to the front desk to tell them. They told us to go for a drink and come back in a half hour while they have someone look at it.
After a half hour, we came back to find that no one had been in our room to fix it. They suggested we go to supper, which we did. Two hours later, it was still not repaired. They told us not to unpack our things as we might be moved. Then, they told us we wouldn't be moved until the morning, and that we basically had to be "on call" to be moved at any moment.
The next morning, we had to call for a shuttle since it was a 20-minute walk to the lobby. After a 45-minute wait, we finally decided to walk. We went to the front desk to ask when our new room would be ready. We were told that they were all full, so they still could not move us until the following day.
At this point we had begun talking to the second manager, who now tells us not to talk to anyone but him because he is "the guy" to talk to. So, we left it.
On the third morning, my husband called the front desk and asked to talk to a manager. They said he was busy at the moment until my husband said he was coming to the front desk. Two minutes later, we got a phone call from the manager asking us to come to the office.
We told him about our issues and told him we were willing to pay for our room, but it was nowhere near what we had paid for. He had the nerve to tell us that the room we were in was to them equivalent to what we had paid for. We were furious.
We pulled up what the Internet showed we had paid for and proved that what we had was most definitely not that. We demanded a refund or to be put in the Millionaire Suite.
He told us he couldn't put us in that suite, and couldn't help us with the refund. He told us we would have to talk to his manager. There was another one!?
The third manager apologized until he was practically blue in the face. I was really tired of hearing people say "I'm sorry"!
He offered us two free nights at Sandals for the two nights that were messed up. We figured we would use them at the end of our stay rather than going back to the local place we were going.
Then he offered us a $200 credit, as well as a candlelight dinner on the beach (which runs about $160). We thought that would be acceptable. We were told our new room would be ready at 1:00 pm.
Oh, and at this point, we had not even seen the beach or the pool yet. So, we figured we could go and do that, come back around 4 pm. When we went to the front desk at 4 to see if our room was ready, we were told our luggage had already been moved to our new room. That was fine, but we needed to get our things out of the safe. The front desk staff gave us the keys to our old room back, and told us to go get it.
We got to the room freely, with no escorts, to find that they had already moved someone else into that room as there luggage was in there. All our stuff could have been stolen from the safe! We could have even taken this person's belongings and no-one would know any different. What if we had walked in on a couple doing something intimate?
We finally made our way to our new room and we are happy with it. It seemed to be exactly what we paid for. Suddenly, we heard a rustle in the ceiling and then a squeak. We discovered that there were about 50 bats inside the ceiling.
My husband was about to go ballistic at the front desk. I stopped him and told him the bats were not inside, and weren't bothering us. We decided to just deal with it for the remaining time there.
We finally got a couple of good days there with no problems at all. The playmakers and bar staff were amazing. Props to all of them for keeping Sandals alive. If it were left to management, there would be no Sandals!
On day six, my husband tried to order me flowers. He asked that they be delivered at midnight. They said they couldn't because they were not open that late. He asked that they do what they could, and they agreed to deliver them at 7 pm.
When we returned to the room, the flowers were there. The card read: "Happy Valentine's Day. Love, Nathan". My husband's name is Mike. We were pretty upset and did not pay for the flowers.
We never got the candlelight dinner or bottle of wine we were promised.
We did stay at Sandals Grande later, and it was okay. We walked in and talked to a manager before anyone could even touch our luggage. The following week we stayed at a Sandals Halcyon, which was actually really good.
However, we will more than likely never stay at a Sandals Resort ever again. We continued to call Sandals La Toc to find out where exactly we were spending our last two nights and funny how it took right up until our check out time for them to figure that out!
Thankfully, it was not spent at La Toc. It was spent at two different places (so we had to move twice again!).
We are now home, and three weeks later we have still not received our candlelight dinner or bottle of wine.
We were not impressed with this place at all. I am so thankful we were lucky enough to have such a long holiday. If we were like most people, and that was our only week in St. Lucia, we would never go back there.
That would really be unfortunate as the island was absolutely amazing. Also, the St. Lucians were all so very friendly people as well.
Go to St. Lucia, but do not stay at Sandals La Toc Resort!

Villa Beach Cottages, hotel review Visited: February 2012

Villa Beach Cottages was absolutely amazing. We stayed here for our honeymoon recently. The staff was amazing. They went out of their way to make sure that we were happy. I do not recall a time we were ever unhappy!
We booked this place based on how it looked online, and it was even more beautiful when we showed up. There were many other things about the place which made it all that much better.
Colin, the owner, met with us right off the bat and was very informative about the property, the island, tours, where to eat and where to shop. This place was not all-inclusive, but it was better than all-inclusive in our eyes.
We stayed at all three Sandals resorts a week at each while we were in St.Lucia, and nothing even came close to comparing to Villa Beach Cottages.
We were recommended many restaurants, and if we wanted to have food ordered and delivered we could. The grocery store was a three-minute walk from our front door. There, we could buy anything and everything we needed.
We told the staff what we wanted to do for tours and left all the planning to them. They figured out how it would work best for us, and the tour staff and gave us extremely low pricing. The tour guides were great, and it could not have been better.
The rooms were stunning, and had an amazing view. They were basically right on the beach. They were very bright and spacious. Everything we could even think of needing in the kitchen was there - and everything worked properly.
There was an Internet cafe on site (free). There was also a mini mart which had almost anything we needed for any emergency items. They also had souvenirs at a good price.
There were also laundry services on site for a minimal charge. We knew that someone came into our room to fix our bed, but housekeeping went above and beyond anything I would ever had expected.
The property was gorgeous. The pools had waterfalls and the property was filled with palm trees. It was a very quiet place - very relaxing. It is just what you would want for your honeymoon.
This place under promises and over delivers on everything. We plan on going back to St.Lucia just so we can return to Villa Beach Cottages.

We decided we will never have a better view. The outside area was wonderful. It was really nice eating at the table at the end of patio.
We all felt comfortable with the house and staff. None of us had the luxury of a cook before, but it did not take long to get use to having Angel.
Hopefully, they will take our advice to get mattress pads for the beds. Half of us did end up with many bug bites, but everything else out weighed the bites.
We also found having the rental agency representative coming by to be very helpful. We thank everyone involved with us having a very successful vacation.

Natures Paradise, hotel review Visited: December 2011

We stayed at Natures Paradise for our honeymoon. We couldn't have picked a better place to get to know each other better, and just have a really enjoyable time.
I really can't think of any complaints, aside from having to leave after our stay was over!
Dave and Wanda prepared the most delicious breakfasts for us each morning (Monday-Saturday). The first morning we had half a grapefruit to start off the breakfast, and I detest grapefruit. However, it turned out to be really good. I was amazed!
We had really good fruit every morning for breakfast, and I loved the warm bread with cheese slices to put on top of it. The coffee was also quite pleasing.
It was also really fun getting to have breakfast with the other two or three couples also staying in the cottages at the same time as us. It was fun getting to hear about where they traveled to on the island the day before, and get ideas for things to do and things to avoid. Dave and Wanda were also very great when it came to needing advice on what to do and what to see.
We stayed in Avocado cottage, which was a great place for two! The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was useful. The porch was large and had great views, and the cottage was very close to the pool (more great views!) and main house. It was very beautiful, private, safe, and relaxing.
We took one tour with Dave- the Soufriere Eco Tour. It was a really good thing to do the first full day we were there since we got used to the driving (all curves!) with someone who could show us around.
Dave was an excellent tour guide for the botanical gardens, sulfur springs (a lot of steam where we were), and sightseeing.
For the rest of the trip we had a rental car, which we would highly recommend! It's hard to see much of the island without one. But if you have one, the island is small enough that pretty much anywhere is a day trip.
We drove down to climb Gros Piton. It cost US $30 a person to climb, but the views were amazing! Be sure to bring enough water though, as it is a difficult climb in the second half. Pigeon point was also a neat place, but the best beach we found was actually right near the airport. It had long beaches with clear water.
We were there over Christmas, and had Christmas dinner with Dave, Wanda, and the others there at the time. We ate at Chateau Mygo for the second time, and the food was delicious, and the views were also good.
All in all, Natures Paradise was a fantastic part of our honeymoon!

This place was truly wonderful and stunning at highly affordable prices.
We found the "off the beaten path" style to be the perfect atmosphere for relaxing, adventure, romance, and cultural exploration. Nature Dave's knowledge of the culture and history of St. Lucia, suggestions for exploration, and Eco-tours provided a welcome respite from the resort style vacation and hoards of other tourists.
We stayed in the Banana Cottage, then the Coconut room for a night. Both were roomy enough for two, and provided ample need. The temperature in the rooms was comfortable with a nice cross breeze coming off the Caribbean Sea. The night-time brings out a symphony of tree frogs, but it is a pleasant song to fall asleep to.
It is worth mentioning that the sunset from the pool was uniquely different each and every evening we were there, so it would be smart to plan to see them daily.
Both Dave and Wanda were highly accommodating to some last minute plans, and provided all sorts of help. We had a wedding on St. Lucia and Dave and Wanda went out of their way to ensure everything happened smoothly, an act of kindness that we will never forget.

My daughter, husband and I just returned from Villa Cadasse. We had a great, relaxing time. Mornings spent viewing the mountains and sitting at the pool. A short drive to many beautiful beach. We saw most of the island and it is very unique.
The St Lucian people are friendly and trustworthy. we enjoyed having Sherma around. She was very pleasant and shared a lot of island history. The road to the villa is very rough but no problem. Thanks Andrew for a great suggestion.

Romance and adventure were exactly what we were looking for in our honeymoon. That is exactly what we found at Nature's Paradise.
Dave and Wanda were wonderful hosts. They made us feel so welcome and at ease. Their suggestions of things to do and explore, based on their deep knowledge of the island and their excitement to find out about us and our interests, helped to make our trip so memorable!
Every morning we woke up to the beautiful view from our cottage and a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, bread, cheese, juice, and coffee/tea. We loved chatting with Dave and Wanda over breakfast and making our plans for the day. It never seemed like they were in a rush to leave or be anywhere else. It felt like they were truly there for us, their guests.
The cottage was simple, but had everything we needed for an unencumbered getaway. We loved being able to make our own lunches in the full kitchen. We also had some snacks available that we stocked from the local grocery store (about 15 minutes away by car). The front porch was so relaxing to sit on. We loved starting and ending our day by looking out over the beautiful gardens and the Caribbean.
The location was great, too. It was on the end of a ridge line overlooking the ocean, so it got great breezes and did not get too hot while we were here. It was a short trip down the ridge to Marigot Bay. There we found many good restaurants right on the water at various price points. All food was really good.
We would highly recommend renting a car as it made it much easier to get around. The ridge where Nature's Paradise is located is more remote than some of the more touristy destinations (which is what we loved about it!). Dave showed us a secluded bay near the resort where we went swimming and snorkeling and were the only ones there. It was quite romantic!
One of our favorite days on the island was the day that Dave took us on a tour down the east coast of the island. He drove so we could take pictures and take in the sites. The spots he selected for us to see were incredible, and we really appreciated his knowledge of each place.
Our other favorite day was our scuba diving adventure, which was led by Dive Fair Helen in Marigot Bay. They are awesome, and the underwater sites were breathtaking. We would highly recommend both of these excursions.
Overall, we had an amazing time staying at Nature's Paradise! Thank you Dave and Wanda for making it an incredibly special honeymoon!

Apartment Espoir, hotel review Visited: December 2009
Posted by Cindy1
My girlfriend and I booked a two-month stay at the Espoir and ended up leaving due to the following:
The apartment was a dump! There was a broken toilet seat and no cover for the water tank. We found mildew on the ceiling, and the towels smelled terrible. The floors were uneven, as well.
In addition, Keith (the owner) made sexual remarks towards my girlfriend, which made her feel very uncomfortable. He also owns three dogs that pee and do their business on the grounds and around swimming pool area. There was dog stool everywhere, and no one cleans or picks up after the dogs.
The dogs and neighbors' dogs barked every night during the brief time we stayed. The constant noise every morning due to maintenance work on the balcony was extremely annoying, too.
The BBQ had a large hole in it, so we could not use it. Also, the tiles leading down a very steep hill were broken and very sharp making it difficult and dangerous to get to the pool.
The steps leading to the pool were not parallel creating a very slippery slope.
They attempted to charge us extra, even though we had a signed agreement.
I didn't feel like we were in a safe area. You have to have a car, and the bus stop is a couple of miles away. People entered the apartment unannounced, which I did not like.
Finally, the pictures on the web site are old and don't reflect the current condition of the apartments. The Espoir is a run down dump. We would never go back.

At Nature's Paradise, we found exactly what we were looking for in a honeymoon getaway! David and Wanda maintain a beautifully landscaped property with stunning views.
The pool overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the Roseau Valley, especially at sunset, is unforgettable.
Avocado cottage was incredibly comfortable and provided ample privacy from other guests, even on the large porch which was great for relaxing in the breeze.
Breakfasts spent discussing island history and the plans of the day over coffee, fruit juice, fresh baked bread and varieties of local fruits, were the perfect start to the day.
Also, David was very helpful in arranging for a rental vehicle, reserving a sailing cruise, and in providing advice for when we headed out to explore the island on our own.
In addition, we spent a terrific day with Nature Dave himself as tour guide on the Soufriere eco-adventure. We visited the volcano park, botanical gardens, and Dasheen restaurant for lunch (a must-do!). The trek into the secluded mineral baths and time spent there is another of our unforgettable experiences of the trip.
Marigot Bay is an incredible spot, with great restaurants and friendly locals.
We recommend Nature's Paradise to anyone looking to take a step or two off the beaten path and truly relax! We can't wait to return!

Crystals, hotel review Visited: October 2011

My husband and I decided one year ago that Crystals was the perfect place for our honeymoon. After a wonderful two weeks, we vowed to return for our anniversary.
I've been home just about five days and already miss waking up to the warm sun peeking through our curtains. Our day always began with a knock on the door offering a delicious Caribbean style breakfast basket and occasionally ended at the tree top bar after a few glasses of the famous rum punch and some soothing reggae music.
The staff is very friendly, and the owners are beyond generous. The rooms are all different and decorated with such rich taste.
I thought our first stay was perfect, but our last stay trumped that, it was spectacular. I can't wait to go back next year. We've definitely found our spot.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort & Spa in St. Lucia, hotel review Visited: September 2011
Posted by erachelle
We came here for our Honeymoon from 9/12/11 to 9/18/11. We were stuck here due to the bridges flooding Sunday the 18th after driving 4 ½ hours around the mountain and a 1 ½ boat ride to the airport. That was Sandals' bright idea.
We got to the dock and had to wait another 30-40 minutes for a bus to show up because the resort wasn't organized. We barely missed our flight and had to go back to the resort (another hour drive). Their way of saying sorry for the inconvenience was a room (of course) and a complimentary three-minute phone call.
My husband lost it. He said, "What is this, a prison?" They replied, "Sir, that's all we can afford." He was livid. After all these people spent a lot of money, they can afford more. So, they gave us 30 minutes. Ridiculous!
We were able to get an earlier flight Monday so we went from St. Lucia to San Juan to Miami to Houston. It was exhausting!
That resort was nothing like the web site. The rooms were old and had a weird smell to them. There were cats and birds everywhere when we were eating. Birds were grabbing food off the buffet. The service there was bad, too. They would act like it was an inconvenience to them to wait on us.
In addition, the golf course was crap. It was not free as the web site indicates. You have to pay for the cart fee, club rental and pay your caddie. It ended up being $87.
That island was just depressing. There are shacks with tin roofs all along the road and poor, skinny dogs running loose. There were also cows and goats tied to trees. It was so sad.

Smugglers Nest, villa review Visited: July 2011

My wife and I went on a second honeymoon to celebrate our fifteenth anniversary. We were looking for someplace beautiful, private, and unlike anywhere else in the world. This was it!
Believe every review of this place that tells you that the pictures don't even remotely do justice to its beauty. Although I took hundreds of photos and everyone who has seen them has been in awe of what they see, I have to give the disclaimer of how frustrating it is to try to capture on film what simply cannot be captured. It is impossible to take a photo or video that tells the story.
The staff was great, the villa was magnificent, and Tobie the dog (lives in the gatehouse and likes to go to the beach) was a pleasure. The beach below the villa had good snorkeling and was great for those who don't care for crowds and just want to get away. We can't wait to go back to celebrate our 20th anniversary.

Saline Reef is a beautiful property, with magnificent views of the ocean, islands, and tip of the Pitons. The only cons about the property are the beds, which are two twin beds together. The separation in the middle was very uncomfortable, and I recommend that the mattresses be changed. They are very dated and hard. We actually didn't sleep well on the mattresses. The kitchen stove, and appliances were also very dated making cooking a little less pleasurable. Overall, the villa is very clean, and the staff is excellent. Angel and Josephine are great cooks, and very attentive. Saline Reef is highly recommended for the breathtaking views, and the location of the property-right on a cliff with nothing but the ocean in front. Just Beautiful.

Believe me. The real thing is way ahead of the web site pictures!
The arrangements by Andrew from Wheretostay.com were excellent.
The views from the deck and veranda were stunning, and the gentle breeze blowing from the sea over the lush green hills was such a treat.
Our bedroom was comfortable, and the kitchen was reasonably well equipped. In addition, the dipping pool was a complete joy!
They will need to work on the Internet connection, though, at least one of us was happy it was not working!

Crystals, hotel review Visited: May 2011

My wife and I wanted a property that we would both enjoy, and Crystals was spot on. I like my comfort and beach, while my wife enjoys nature and the hills.
Crystals is about a five-minute drive from the the village and the beach, so this was great for me. Yet, its location was ideal for my wife, too, who does not like to hear the sounds of cars or any noise at all. In addition, the nice, cool breeze being on a hill was a Godsend.
It is a small property, and we came just the two of us. We did enjoy dinner time when we got to meet with the other guests (who we had not seen and heard at all!). We found out 12 other people were staying on property!
The cottages were wonderful. The air conditioning was nice, as I so wanted it. However, I have to confess at times I did not even use it.
The hosts, Monica and Martin Charles, went all out to help us - all we had to do was ask.
Do have a body massage by Lucia. We both did, and it was amazing. She comes with her own table and sets it up on your own deck - what could be more perfect?
Also, the food at Crystals was yummy and a must. They open the restaurant for dinner every second night, and for cocktails six nights a week.
We will be back to this magical property. Oh, and a thanks to Wesley for his singing and the great smile every morning while cleaning our pool!

We were picked up at Hewanorra airport by Anthony,a friend of David and Wanda. We had a restful drive to Marigot Bay and up to Natures paradise.
Our host, David, was there to greet us as we arrived. He made us most welcome showing us our cottage and introducing us to the grounds of his house. Throughout our stay, David made us feel like we were at home and he is now a confirmed friend. He was around whenever we needed him, but allowed us to be alone to use the grounds without interruption.
The grounds included a swimming pool with a drop dead gorgeous view of the Caribbean from its elevated cliff top position. Natures Paradise is truly a paradise on earth with hummingbirds regularly flying in and out of bushes next to our cottage.
The cottage we stayed in was private, and had a great panoramic view over the Caribbean. It was extremely well equipped with a hair drier in the bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen (right down to cutlery and bottle opener!).
The breakfast, served Monday to Friday, was lovely with fresh bread and a great variety of exotic fruit and real coffee on offer for as long as you feel you need. This was an opportunity to meet our fellow guests who were from New York and Boston in the US. We very much enjoyed their company and, again, I do feel that we have made some genuine new friends.
Marigot Bay is beautiful with a good choice of restaurants, but I have to say I was a little surprised by how expensive food was.
We went to Nature's Hideaway, Doolittle's, Chateua Mygo, and Julietta's. We enjoyed all our meals which included lobster, Coconut shrimp,Creole chicken, etc.
We paid several visits to Rodney Bay which has a stunning beach used by locals and holiday makers alike, but never seemed very crowded. Also in Rodney Bay was a marina which was a great place for lunch, a drink, or an ice cream. The drive to Rodney Bay took about 40 minutes from Marigot Bay but was very pleasant with a service station along the way.
David acted as a tour guide one day when he took us on a trip to a dormant volcano with a real spring bath that we got to bathe in. It was like a very warm bath. This was followed by lunch at a stunning hotel with gorgeous food and a fantastic view towards the Pitons. He finished us off with a tour of a beautiful tropical gardens.
St. Lucians are very kind, helpful, and friendly. Very often we witnessed them going a mile out of their way to help tourists in need.
I would strongly recommend Nature's Paradise to anyone with an independent nature and an adventurous spirit. Thank you, David and Wanda, for your kind and generous hospitality.
