We stayed at Blue Papaya on December of 2022 with our family and returned in March of 2023 with friends. Each stay was more than perfect! Blue Papaya is immaculate and well stocked. The layout provides ample room for privacy with 4 ensuite bedrooms as well as inviting indoor and outdoor areas to gather. The beds and linens are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are just elegant. Afternoon cocktails by the pool, and later on the deck, are a perfect way to end the day. It is the best seat on the island to watch the lights of St. Thomas rise at night. We will certainly be back for a third visit!

Our experience working with WhereToStay was wonderful! I did have one glitch when the refrigerator stopped working after dinner, and I had a response to my text within minutes. Within the hour a small fridge was delivered and the problem was solved the next morning. I was very pleased with how promptly my issue was resolved.

My wife, father and I spent a week at Blue Papaya in mid May 2022. We were thoroughly pleased with every moment of our stay. The villa is both beautifully designed and decorated. Each room conveys a welcoming Caribbean feel. The kitchen is well appointed and perfect for our needs. But the most memorable aspect of the villa are the views from the upstairs veranda. We spent hours lounging on the veranda watching the boats in Great Cruz Bay and the sunsets over St. Thomas each night. Blue Papaya is on our list of places to visit again one day.

Andrew was a pleasure to work with. He was both informative and responsive to any questions we had. The entire booking experience was easy and well organized.

Blue Papaya was just as advertised. It has a great pool, comfortable beds, an easy to use kitchen, and air-conditioning throughout. The drive up is steep in places, but the hilltop views and the breeze make the trek a distant memory. We actually spent a couple of days just hanging around the house and pool. Management was responsive, even though we didn’t need them. We highly recommend this home.

We have worked with Shawna and Andrew in the past, and they always deliver first-class service. The homes are great and they are always responsive.

Very attractive, gorgeously decorated villa with beautiful views of Great Cruz Bay and St. Thomas. The glittering nighttime views are especially breathtaking. The villa has very comfortably furnished interiors with dark wood vaulted ceilings and brick floors. Bathrooms are generously sized and feature native stone showers. The pool deck is reasonably well screened and receives all day sun. The villa is located in a neighborhood of similar high end vacation homes. There are a number of villas in quite close proximity and therefore other vacationers can be seen and their music heard outdoors on the terrace and pool deck.

This villa is located in a gated neighborhood, in a very convenient location for shopping, dining out & beaches. The area is relatively peaceful & we enjoyed sitting on covered porch & listening to the peepers & chickens who are frequent visitors.
The Positives:
1. Comfortable & tasteful furnishings . Nice views of Great Cruz Bay & sunset.
2. Comfortable beds in both upper bedrooms.
3. Well provisioned kitchen with most cooking essentials.
4. Newer appliances.
5. Good blender.

The Negatives:
1. Pool was in need of repairs (missing tiles, large areas where it had been previously patched) & it didn’t seem that pump was working.
1.a. No pool floats other than 2 large kids inner tubes.
2. Lower bedrooms were unusable due to strong mold/mildew smell, despite having a de-humidifier set up in the room.
3. Very inadequate storage for clothing. We had to put everything on a triangular shelve in closet. No dressers at all.
4. No sound system for music until propert mgr dropped off a Bluetooth system that we had to unpack & connect ourselves.
5. The only corkscrew we could find was broken & dangerous to use.
6. No working ice maker in refrigerator.
7. No hot water in separate upper bedroom shower.
