This ten year old European-style resort is located on one of Aruba's finest beaches, and
offers a fine blend of location in recently renovated facilities. The hotel
saw a major remodeling in 1996 and a smaller one in 1998, with extra amenities added to the guest rooms, such as new hair dryers, 25-inch TVs, new air-conditioning, irons and ironing
boards, new beds and new refrigerators and microwaves. Guest rooms also have
coffee makers, cable tv, ceiling fans, minibars and safes. They come in superior, deluxe and junior suite categories, and are larger than most.
The hotel's Pirate's Nest restaurant serves seafood and steaks and if you want some diversity, there are 24 restaurants within walking distance. The hotel also offers a dine around program which features nine restaurants. There's a weekly limbo show held at the Pirate's Nest and for more action seekers, there's the Alhambra casino and a shopping center within walking distance .
A fitness facility, business center and gift shop is now housed in the main building and watersports also can be had here for an additional fee. The hotel draws a mostly American and European crowd of honeymooners and couples seeking peace, quiet and romance. Honeymooners can dine by torchlight on the beach served by their own personal waiter. Now that's romantic!
Kids are accepted at the resort but discouraged in the pursuit to create an atmosphere of relaxation for guests. There are no organized programs or activities for children and they would most likely be bored(that's the intention).
