Sundance is a spacious, comfortable villa on the first floor of the Old Trees Bay resort complex. The villa sits steps away from Paynes Bay Beach on one of the most exclusive slices of the Platinum Coast.
Manicured lawns and palm trees frame the villa’s private plunge pool, and a covered veranda borders the other side. Loungers, dining areas, and cushioned loveseats furnish the veranda, and ceiling fans aid the island breeze. A natural stone wall creates a barrier between the plunge pool and the communal freeform pool in the garden. An arched footbridge leads across the pool to Paynes Bay Beach. Old Trees Bay guests enjoy exclusive access to beach loungers and oceanside service. Sundance’s fully air-conditioned interiors feature an open-plan style and luxurious finishes. French doors and arched windows open to the ocean views, while a neutral color palette adds elegance. The living room’s plush sofas face the armoire’s entertainment system, which includes cable TV and a sound system. The dining table seats six, and the kitchen is fully equipped. Both bedrooms enjoy exterior and interior access and ensuite bathrooms. The master suite has a king bed, while the second suite has two twin beds that can be converted into a king.
Along with direct access to Paynes Bay Beach, Sundance enjoys an ideal location near the Barbados’ premiere attractions. Several restaurants perch along the coast and offer a wide variety of cuisine from the island’s top chefs. Sandy Lane Beach is a beautiful walk or drive away, and the Old Nine Golf Course is about a mile down the road.

Relaxing week at Halcyon
Sundance, Barbados villa review
The villa was very clean and comfortable. The complex was very safe. The beach lounge chairs were so comfortable and the beach staff was very efficient and helpful. I had never stayed in a villa that had a staff. It was nice, but a little uncomfortable having people around all day long. I like my privacy. Don’t get me wrong, the ladies were very, very nice. I don’t think it was necessary to have maid service every day - twice a week would be fine. The cook was adept, but the food was nothing outstanding. She cooked the same thing almost every morning - there was no variety. We discussed meals and told her what we usually have and like, but said that we were open to pretty much anything. The dinners were good, but everything had sauce on it. It wasn’t really gourmet, which I thought it would be. Our veggie almost every night was salad, and we told her that we liked other veggies too. Maybe I didn’t give her enough info or had the wrong expectations. In the Guest Book people raved about her pancakes, and ours were out of an Aunt Jemima box. Past guests wrote about her Banana Bread and Key Lime Pie, but we never got one dessert. We did give the beach help a tip. They weren’t included in the “tip group”, but we thought they deserved it. All in all, we did have a great vacation, and I would return to the Old Trees complex again!
Sharon was great! Her communication was fast and she answered all my questions completely. She was very helpful. I would definitely rent through Wheretostay.com again. The description of our villa and the pictures were very accurate.
