Know Before You Go...®
You’ll think you’re in an Asian palace when you arrive at Golden Pavilion. You can relax on the covered patio or workout in the fully-equipped gym. A short trip down the hill to the beach could be the option you choose for a day’s excursion. To wind down, grab a bottle of wine and share the hammock by the pool with someone special as the sun sets.
Luxury above the ocean!
Golden Pavilion sits at the edge of a cliff above Tortola’s Little Bay with breathtaking, panoramic views of the sea and surrounding Virgin Islands. Artfully constructed in an Asian-Indonesian style, this estate offers complete privacy behind an electronic gate.
A pagoda-roofed portal ushers guests into a walled courtyard, where a lily pond and Asian statuary set the tone. The infinity pool at the edge of the deck blends with the sea and acts as a mirror to the sky above. Hammock swings hang off either end of the veranda in the midst of chaise lounges and couches. An al fresco dining table and gas rotisserie grill sit at one end of the pool and a hot tub and fire pit is at the other end. A few stairs lead up to the dining veranda, where guests can feast and drink while gazing out at the horizon. Walking paths thread through Golden Pavilion’s tropical landscaping, one taking guests to a bench above the ocean, just right for watching sunsets.
A red and gold filigreed door welcomes guests into the home’s interiors. On Golden Pavilion’s main level, the Great Room separates two wings. This central room is distinguished by hand-carved wooden pillars, a carved Balinese daybed, and French doors which open out to the dining terrace. On one side is the professional kitchen, which is fully equipped with air-conditioning, granite counters, custom cabinetry, and an expanse of stainless steel Viking appliances. Also in this air-conditioned east wing is the family room, a media room with plush seating and a home office complete with a computer and a powder room. Down the hallway is the air-conditioned west wing, which holds a cozy study for television, movies, puzzles, or games. A staircase off the Great Room leads up to the entertainment room with a sound system, satellite TV, billiard table, and a wet bar with a mini-fridge and ice maker. This level is furnished with casual sofas and chairs, surrounded by banks of windows facing the sea.
Two equally-sized king suites are situated in the east wing, and both have air-conditioning, screened French doors, terrace access, and an ensuite bathroom. The master suite is also in this wing, and has a four-poster king bed, sitting area, dressing room, and a large bathroom with a Jacuzzi bathtub, his-and-hers vanities, and both an indoor and outdoor shower. French doors open to a terrace just above the pool and hot tub deck, providing sea views of White Bay and Monkey Point. Golden Pavilion’s queen suite is nearby, with a walk-in closet and pool view. Its ensuite bathroom has a shower, outdoor shower, and tub. Also on the property, just off the main villa, is the guest cottage. The cottage’s ground level holds an air-conditioned gym with satellite TV and a small patio. Upstairs, there’s a one-bedroom apartment with an air-conditioned king suite, a full kitchen, and a living area.
Golden Pavilion’s manager lives nearby and is just a phone call away. Chef services are available, and all breakfasts are continental. The white sands of Little Bay Beach are only a minute’s drive down the hill. Elizabeth Beach is a minute down the coast, and closed toe shoes are recommended.
